Sonos One and DLNA

Hi,

I read a lot about Sonos and DLNA and my question is why is not yet possible to play music from a DLNA server running on a NAS?

The Sonos app show the NAS and let me navigate through folders but when I try to play music says: Unable to add music to queue.

It makes no sense to me. Why should I use the obsolete samba protocol to share folders over my network while the DLNA protocol exists?

Sonos is almost perfect but this is a big disqualification.

My Samsung TV sees and play music from my NAS. Obviously I don’t want to play music on my TV and this is why I bought a Sonos speaker.

Update:

It seems the http protocol has changed. However, live streams in flac format seem to work, eg Radio Paradise.

Intrepid testers needed over at the other place!

Update plugin 1.62.0 available for testing

Plugin 1.62.0 looking good. Tested with live mp3 streams.

Testing good here, too.

Sonos just up and changed their user-agent, without warning, with zero release notes. Sigh. :disappointed:

How is the updated user agent different from the one described at https://developer.sonos.com/build/content-service-get-started/soap-requests-and-responses/ ?

No idea. From the developer of the LMS-UPnP Plugin:

Sadly, now Spotty and Tidal no longer work....

I don’t have a Tidal sub, but have been playing Spotty all morning, without issue. Here are my general and Sonos-specific settings in the plugin:

Used same settings as you... But tracks only play for 5 secs. Then reset. Grrrr.
