Is it possible to get older sonos controller versions as my older iPad controller in basement of house is know outdated after automatic updates?

I have owned a Sonos system for about 12 years and in the past couple of days I have experienced a problem that I've not seen before. It goes a bit like this: start Sonos. Message that we need to check for software update. 3 step process fails on third step with the message Update problem ! Try again doesn't work. More information recommends unplugging everything and waiting 10 secs. I have done this routine many times. Then all of a sudden, Sonos is working. It will fail again at a later stage, still looking for a software update!! When it does work, the rooms that come up are not always the same and is always incomplete. Although there normally is, there is no option under Manage on my PC app, to add components. Has anybody seen this before and/or have a cure?

Hi, Aware that there was another thread about this but it was closed for comments and was left unresolved. This seems to happen to me more frequently through iPhone than my MacBook. Is very frustrating

Sonos software no longer supports certain functions on Mac or PC. Specifically I can no longer add a device using my Mac. The Mac and PC are not being phased out and are my choice for controlling my Sonos system. I take exception to being forced to buy another device to setup my system.

sonos stops playing songs about half way through. the songs are located on my iphone 8. i never used to have this problem. started about 3 weeks ago. soo frustrating. wondering why i paid so much for this thing. when im forced to use the speakers in the iphone or ipad.

The SONOS Mac app v 10.0, build 48261220 has a serious memory leak. Using top -o rsize I find a steady increase in resident memory usage. It starts around 150Mb and grows steadily. I have seen resident size as large as 2.1Gb before I kill it. In 1.5 hours, streaming Pandora, it went from 150Mb to 560Mb. There is a jump in memory use every time a new song played.

It would be *very* useful to have the option to define a sound volume level that each Sonos unit would default to every time music is starting (not only after power has been switched off and on again). E.g. this way I avoid my young son getting chocked when he starts playing some children’s music at the sound level last night’s party ended at… :) Kind regards Michael

Hi, My iPad Air 2 (Sonos v10.1) has unexpectedly stopped connecting to my network - "You need to be connected to a wireless network to use Sonos. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi on your device". My iPhone, iPod, iMac and a second iPad running also Sonos App v10.1 can connect fine. I have tried doing a software update but none is available so I assume 10.1 is the newest version. All devices are on the same network. I do have a network extender which uses a similar network name to my main router, with the addition of _EXT to the main one's name. I can't submit diagnostics I think, because I can't open the app fully. Thanks, Ben

I have a android device that I put version 8.xx software in it some time ago ( never connected it to my system) I now want to see it as my CR200 is not working all the time and support has come to the conclusion it's malfunctioning after getting it from them just last year. The android did connect to my existing system but it wants me to update which mean it will update to ver 9.x and this will brick my dock which I don't want to happen. My question is how can I get this version to run on my device without updateing to the latest device so I can continue using my dock which is all I play from, not from any internet music source my dock is my most important device in my system.

How can I transfer a product to a new owner ? I can transfer all but can’t see how to transfer one product I own. Thanks

Hello, I have a Kindle Fire HDX 3rd generation running the most current operating system, 13.4.5.5.3 which was just installed February 23rd 2019. When I try to run the Sonos controller app, it says "The software on this device is out of date". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and also did a soft reset with no joy. I guess the HDX could no longer be supported like the old ipads, but Amazon is still releasing updates for it as recently as February. I just recently pulled this from the drawer becuase the size makes it easier to take on the train than my 8" Kindle. Any help would be appreciated. I ran a diagnostic from the controller on the HDX, but think that is about my system, not the controller, but just in case I am wrong, the number is 290533075 Thanks in advance!

With Netflix recently dropping airplay support, is it now no longer possible to play Netflix audio on the Sonos One while still retaining the video on a device like an IPad?

I have a Late 2013 Mac pro and I'm using the headphone (stereo) line out which connects to the line in on a connect. (not the amp, just the bridge). Don't get me started on the fact that the play3 has no line in - $300 later I got over it and bought a connect. From there I connected the connect directly to two Play:3s. I had tried wirelessly connecting to the speakers, but it was so delayed over wireless that it made watching any video unbearable and out of sync. Airplay, even worse. So much for wireless hifi eh? Connecting the speakers directly with ethernet cables fixed the delay but now I have another annoying issue that I can't figure out how to make go away. If the audio output in a video (say youtube) stops or even gets too quiet, the sonos controller automatically switches itself from play mode to stop mode. If I leave the controller open on my computer I can sit here and watch it happen consistently in any quiet part of a video or song. If I press

the app keeps turning my speaker volume down.

I love the Sonos Software. Is there a way to load the Sonos software on a RaspberryPi and use the RaspberryPi as a “Sonos Connect” equivalent? I’d happily pay a rational fee to buy a license to use my RaspberryPi instead of buying a 3rd Sonos Connect.

Hi, I am experiencing what appears to be a notorious problem with Sonos. The controller suddenly stopped connecting to my iTunes library and I now receive the dreaded "server cannot be found" error message. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong. The controller was playing music from my library this morning without issue before I went to work. After I came home and booted up my computer, Sonos can't connect. Absolutely nothing changed with my system between this morning and now. I really don't want to have to remove and reconnect my iTunes music folder (20,000+ songs) to resolve this issue. Help!

The SONOS app on my iPad is suddenly not working. Says the software on my device is outdated. When I check my iPad Settings it tells me my device is up to date. Please tell me this is not some coordinated effort between Apple and SONOS to get owners to buy new devices at their will. If it is I will be selling off all of my SONOS product.

I use Sonos desktop controller a lot because I am often at my computer. My music library is located on my Synology NAS, ripped CDs in FLAC format Creating playlists from the library content seems to be be very unintuitive, requiring 4 clicks to add a track. I would like to see 3 enhancements to the desktop controller 1. Block Addition I would like to be able to carry out multiple selections from the queue and then add them to a playlist. It seems I can only add them one by one? 2. Drag and Drop Addition With a playlist open in the right panel I'd like to be able to select one or more items in the queue and drag and drop them onto the playlist to add them. I can't see any way to do that? 3. Prevent Duplicates Option Currently, if you add the same track to a playlist it creates a duplicate entry. It would be good to have a prompt "Track is already in queue. Dup

On Spotify, I can have a 'Crossfade' of up to 12 seconds. I hear the music blend in together with this while listening through the Spotify app. However this does not seem to carry over when listening to the same music off of my Spotify app through my Sonos players. Is there something I am doing wrong? I searched through the Sonos configuration and menu and do not see any way to do this. It is in the Spotify app though. Any thoughts?

After the 10.1 update the alarms are not working anymore? You can do all the settings but it doesn’t start

Who else is getting sick and tired of constant requirement to reconfig and update Sonos Controller SW. Im a LONG TIME Sonos use, love the simplicity, but the bugginess/constant need to upgrade every time I use my Sonos is ruining my experience. Yes I've maybe 10+ devices connected but still. Who's with me?

I have seen the posts stating that the only workaround is setting an alarm with a silent .mp3 playing at a volume of preference. Is there any other option, and is Sonos considering a setting to assign a default volume when starting up, and/or increasing volume setting when starting? Thanks!
