Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

There should be a way to restrict access to certain zones or allow control of certain zones from a specific controller. This is very important when you have children or have guests staying to stop inadvertent or deliberate changing of zone settings.
I'm not able to turn off usage data sharing. From the desktop controller application, there's a Preference section called Advanced, and then a tab called Improve Sonos. I have "Turn usage data sharing on" unchecked but my desktop controller continues to make requests to a Sonos server. I know this because a Pi-hole in my LAN lists msmetrics.ws.sonos.com as my highest frequency blocked domain. I assume this is the server that consumes usage data? The controller tries to hit that server every 60 seconds. I'm wondering why this preference setting isn't functioning as indicated. Or have I misinterepreted the way it should work? I'm using version 8.4.
Hi There, I just got a Sonos One, which allows me to hub with my old Play:3 so I can run everything of Airplay. Theoretically. I have successfully hubbed the 2 speakers, however, I don’t see where you can adjust the 2 individual volumes of the speakers in iTunes or in the Sonos app. But there must be a way since the two speakers put out vastly different volumes in vastly different rooms and that can’t be the intention. All I can do it check and uncheck speaker in the hub. Running the app on an iPad Pro. Thank you.
As the title suggests I have recently updated to v9.0 but the feature I am most looking forward too trying (playing apple music via Siri voice commands to my Sonos One) does not seem to work. I can open the apple music app on my phone, select the sonos one as a speaker to airplay2 and hit play - that now works ok. Cheers Sonos ! ? BUT The Sonos blog guide indicated that if I were to add the airplay 2 enabled sonos product (sonos One in my case) to my homekit app as an accessory this would then allow Siri voice commands via mu phone. I have followed those steps to add my sonos one but it seemingly leads to nothing - I open the home kit app, select accessory and add without code but then the speaker does not appear. I have tried pressing pairing button on the unit. Am I missing something here??
When will Sonos have an Apple Watch App? At least an app to control basic functionality, such as mute, volume, etc, would be very beneficial. This would be a great way to further enhance an already great product.
I find the lack of timer increments a problem. Increments of 15 minutes up to 1 hour and then a jump to two hours isn’t great. Options for 75mins, 90mins, 105mins would be great (or just allow me to set any time I want up to say 120mins). Not sure why there is a lack of control on this function.
Have a few play lists on my WD MyCloud NAS. I have 15 playlists in total that all work except my largest (8792 songs) that will not open in the Apple IOS App or the Microsoft Program. Does anyone know the song limit for m3u play lists?
I'm having a problem adding my music library to Sonos. I've sent diagnostics with confirmation number: 2324524. I have a desktop PC with itunes music. I have my sonos bridge connected directly to my router (no wireless). I have my PC connected directly to the router as well. From my desktop PC, I can open the sonos program and play all music - pandora, songza etc. But my library doesn't appear. When I try to add the library (which is on the desktop itself), I get the message indicating that my Computer is not found. This was working a month ago and not sure what has happened. Thoughts? Andy
Songs being played from my iphone are cutting out and not being played in full. Its skips to the next song, plays part then skips again.
I would like to play my Sonos from my refrigerator. I just bought a Samsung I think you should get connected with them to be able to use the family hub screen to play Sonos.
Hi All, I'm looking to purchase the new Amp, however was wondering how Volume control works in practice. When using CEC, you can of course use your TV remote to control the volume of TV. However, when the TV is switched off - and I start streaming spotify for example - can I then still use the TV remote to control volume ?. Or will this trigger the TV to turn on, and change of input on the amp - stopping the spotify stream ?. Essentially I would like to manage the volume of both TV audio, and streaming audio when the TV is switched off - all with the TV remote. Many thanks!
Sonos recently stopped working on our aged ipad, we downloaded sonopad - but it will only play the radio? how to we get our existing music library to play through the iPad and onto the sonos system?
I've been using Sonos on my 2nd? Generation iPod for over a year with no problem. Suddenly this week it says my software is out of date and it can no longer be played on this device?? I checked for an update but Apple says I have the latest software version. Is there any work around for this? The iPod works great and does not need to be replaced.
I bought 6 play 1, 3 play 3, 1 play 5, a play bar, a sub, Conect and connect amp. I TOTALLY REGRET OF BUYING ALL THIS USELESS GEAR. Every time there is a new update i have to set up everything again, every time I have to sent a report that goes no where. I am totally fed up with this software, I am stucked with almost usd 10.000 of sound equipment that takes me 2 full days to reset everyone there is an update. PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE ANY MORE, EVERYTIME YOU TRY TO FIX A BUG ITS WORST!!!!
How do I create a new sonos playlist? I am on an Android Galaxy S8 Thanks Paul
(I dont know if this has been discussed before but it didn't come up in my searches. Apologies if it has) Essentially I would like starting any live streaming service such as tunein radio to automatically look to see if it that stream is playing in any other room and automatically share that stream. It seems daft and annoying to me that if I select the same radio station in two rooms then they play with a very significant delay between the different rooms. I realize that I can easliy link the rooms to solve this but, here's what happens in our house: We have the radio playing in the bedroom and bathroom. To avoid the annoying effects of the delay, I pick up my phone and link the rooms Now, let's imagine I'm in the shower and my wife heads downstairs. She taps the play/pause in the bedroom like she normally does and guess-what?.... it stops in the bathroom too because I linked them. If they simply shared the same stream then they would act like two regular radios in two rooms.
I've noticed over time (within the last say 8 months) the URLs for the speakers don't seem to work. Specifically I'm referring to http://(ipaddress):1400/support/review/. I'm not sure exactly when but a few updates ago this URL used to work and on that page there was a 'Network Matrix' link. At some point through the months I noticed that the network matrix link stopped expanding and no longer showed the matrix and now (more updates later) the support/review/ URL is totally gone resulting in a 404 error. Anyone else having the same behavior? If so, I find it a bummer. I thought the network matrix was a good piece of info for troubleshooting signals.
It would be great if you could add apple airpods. There are times I am away from my speakers but want to listen to everything on my sonos.
Is anyone aware of a visualizer for now playing in a future release of the sonos program? Or any third party ways of showing this? I would love during parties to have like a visualizer showing what's now playing or like a fanart to display on my tv or computer or whatever. I've attached a picture of an example from XBMC which has this feature in the program (looks awesome!) Thanks in advance, -Mike M.
Trying to update on a Mac, I got error code 1100, telling me to uninstall and re-download. I uninstalled, but when I went to the link and tried to download, all I got were "release notes," and no download.
As of 06/01/19 "MacRumors" is reporting that Apple is planning on dropping iTunes. I use iTunes to: Copy/rip cd's to the iTunes Library Organize my music (500+ cd collection) in playlists with album covers etc. Transfer the same to iPhone. playback on Mac and iPhone copy the same library with play lists and album covers, to WD NAS for Sonos library. Does anyone know of a decent product that allows me to keep doing the same, and works for MAC/IOS. Free or 1 time reasonable purchase is acceptable I know this is a similar topic from a few years ago, but wanted to re-ask the question and identify the specific requirements. Thanks
Since the last update the android mobile devices that previously connected to SonosNet cant see the network in the list of available WiFi SSIDs. Also the option in Advanced setting that allows you the option to connect to SonosNet has disappeared. All my devices and the controller are showing 10.2 as the version. My phone updated 17 hours and that ties in with the connection disappearing.
Hi, My husband and I have separate paid google play accounts (with our own preferences in each). We've recently updated the sonos app and are having difficulties to set up two sonos accounts to be used on our home system (one playbar and several play 1 around the house). Further on, once google assistant is available in Poland (it's not available for us over here yet!), will it be able to recognize our different google accounts? Any advice on how to set up multiple sonos accounts on the same sonos system? We don't want to mix our music preferences / configs under the same sonos account. Thanks!
Is there a way to access my Sonos playlist while its playing from a webgui from another device on the same network. Essentially, while my Play list is in use, I'd like the ability to connect to a webpage to display the song/artist that is currently playing from my Sonos Playlist. Is this possible? Has anyone tried this before? I'd like to use it as a display to others can view the song info if they would like to. Thanks Chris
Greetings, After a Sonos system update ran inadvertently (this morning) by a user on one IOS device, I can no longer use a 7-year old iPad because its IOS version is 9.3.5. Here is the message I got: "The software on this device is outdated. To keep the music playing, update the operating system or use a different mobile device with Sonos." IOS 9.3.5 is the latest version running on this iPad. The user ran the update without any incompatibility warning; he just did not know. I am really upset and frustrated with this latest Sonos update. I have been a Sonos user since 2011 and until today, I was quite pleased with my system (7 Sonos devices on two different sites.) The ability to control it with different phones and tablets was a great feature; I do not necessarily control it with the latest phone. My hardware has not changed; there is no reason why a system that worked perfectly has suddenly one of its components become obsolete because of a software update.
