I refer to the fact that Sonos just announce, with no thought whatsoever, that they are dropping support for IOS devices. I think this is absolutely disgusting and totally abhorrent. What a way to treat loyal customers. I have Play 1 speakers and the big white box that sits under the tv. I spent a lot of money on this, which , as a pensioner living alone I had to struggle to find. The kit is only just over a year old. It is now going to be useless. Then there is the vast amount I have shelled out buying the music to play on Sonos from ITunes. Well over a grand and you just blithely announce I won’t be able to play this music any more. This is a disgrace. An absolutely diabolical disgrace. I do not play the music in any other way, only on Sonos. My evenings are now going to be distinctly quiet. I needed Sonos to remain sane. What a total waste of money. What absolute swines Sonos are. Your pathetic alternatives are just that - pathetic. Buy some new speakers. Absolute insulting nonsense

I am not sure if this should happen but if i use my iPhone Sonos app to play music I can control that series of tracks with my apple watch. I can change the volume, pause and skip tracks plus i get the track names. I cannot add to the playlist or change the speakers or have access to the library. It does not work with iPads or laptops. It seems that once the iPhone app has been opened then the watch can be used. witch does seem logical. I have an original watch series 0 and an iPhone 5s

I have two Play 1 speakers and a Play 3 speaker. The latest announcement regarding the loss of support for iOS has me wishing I had bought Bose instead. That said however, since I’ve spent all this money how do I continue to be able to play music on my system from my iPhone? If I get additional Sonos One speakers that ARE AirPlay compatible can I connect to them and use THEM as a conduit to have my iPhone play throughout my entire system, AirPlay compatible or not? If not then I guess if I want to continue to play my iPhone through my Sonos system I will have to submit to the financial extortion from Sonos and buy some additional component like the Connect Amp? Aside from selling all of the Sonos equipment and going to Bose, which I am definitely open to and considering, what are my options?

I have reviewed the feedback on ask.sonos.com and received e-mails from a few of you (via our CEO John MacFarlane), but I wanted to get a better sense from those of you who use Shuffle, how your really want it to work. I was considering getting a Sonos connect to connect to my AV receiver. The one thing I'd like to be able to do is if I wanted to listen to Sonos through that stereo do I have to power on the equipment selected the input and then I'll have access to playing Sonos through it? I was kind of hoping the Sonos connect could wake up or power on the AV receiver.

I can link my Alexa account with Vodafone and this allows me to make phone calls but only on amazon Alexa devices. My sonos speakers unfortunately do not come up as an option, any plans to get this changed? As I have sonos ones all over the house this would be a great feature to have for me and I can imagine many others too.

Hi - I've just set up a Play 5 Gen 2 and logged in to my Google Home Mini (Assistant) to link it (including my Spotify account), but when I ask to play a song it still plays on the mini, not the Sonos. I've asked it to play in a specific room (kitchen) and only get "Sorry, I can't do that yet" from the assistant. Anyone had this issue before?

Hello everyone! I have sonos vlanned and working well with my Android app from my home network to my iot network. On my iphone app, I seem to have to stay on the IOT network or the app loses the ability to control music that is already playing. It can start new songs, but not pause or stop them. Once the phone gets rebooted, the sonos app loses sight of the system. I setup the sonos originally on Android. I can use both phones at the same time on the same network and only IOS has this issue. On Android I have no problems joining IOT to adopt a new speaker, switching back to home, and the app works smoothly every time. An ideas to get my IOS device working as well as my Android device? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I'm a real Sonos fan, I like the service very much. But unfortunately I think there's one very basic feature missing that would make our life so much easier. I had this situation time and again, I wanna watch a video from my pc or phone, I wanna stream a youtube video or a movie on my pc or phone, or even listen to my voice notes, and I wanna stream it to my Sonos speaker in whatever room I am now. I was looking for solutions here on the community, and while there is some complicated solutions to solve this problem for a computer it's not easy, and I didn't found yet a solution for a phone/tablet. the best solution would be Sonos should add in the desktop and mobile app version a feature: broadcast your device sound to stream all sound from this device to the Sonos speaker of the room you choose, just like a bluetooth speaker. Hello. Right now I'm using the speaker in my baby's room. He needs white noise to fall asleep and remain sleep throughout the night. But after a couple of hours, the speaker just stops. I have to turn it on twice every night. And the baby' sleep it's not great... I can't find a setting to change this. What can I do? Thank you Erick

The instructions for adding a new music source say to "go to the manage function". I can't find that function the mac version of the Sonos controller. What am I missing?

In the last few months I have had issues with the Sonos iPhone app - when searching for a song or artist, the results are only coming from my Music Library - in the past, the Spotify results would also appear. There is nothing wrong with my Spotify account - I can still play songs on my Sonos speakers from the Spotify App but strangely, not from my Sonos app. I see I am not the only one with this issue - but until now I have not seen any solution.

Add a feature so that Sonos can display lyrics for songs - maybe hook into Tunewiki or something similar.

Will SONOS be adding Airplay 2 capability for the PLAY 1 speaker?

Hello All, Recently i update my Sonos as 5.1 by adding a PlayBase with my Existing Sub and 2 Sonos One, plus i have a Play5 too, the new setup works great for movies with 5.1 content, but i lost lot of volume and bass while listing music, my main usage is listing music (mostly), for music a Sub and two Sonos One is a best combination i think , but i cant use that setting any more, since Sonos App wont allow us to use Same Sets Speakers with Diff Groups, i know we can do this " set the surrounds to Full for music in the Settings > Room Settings > (room name) > Surround Settings menu. " still its not the same effect we use to get the with 2 Sonos One with One Sub, Since my profession is software development, i know its not that hard to implement in Software rather buying more speakers for a small apartment like mine.

I have my entire music library - 35,000+ songs on shuffle in my queue. Is there any way to save my place? It's kind of a pain to scroll down so many songs after going away from it.

Hello: I have a desktop computer, use Google Chrome browser and Windows 7. I have the Sonos app located on my desktop. I download individual songs and put them into a folder located on my desktop as well and use VLC Media Player to play the songs. I have created a number of playlists within my Sonos app but find that the songs, when playing my playlists, play at different volumes, some songs louder than others. As a result I often have to adjust the volume on the Play1 speaker because a song plays either too loud or too low. I have gone into the tools, preferences, audio and filter section of my VLC Media Player and checked off "volume normalizer" but that has not made a difference. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to solve this volume issue so that the playback songs within my Sonos playlists play at equal volume, thereby eliminating me having to either turn the volume up or down depending on whether a song is too loud or not loud enough during playback?

Since the iPhone app and Play:1 were last updated, the iPhone app now takes longer to find the Play initially. Then, if I want to pause or resume playing, I get a message saying the app can't find the Sonos device and I have to try again two or three times. Similarly, if I try to change or mute/unmute the volume using the iPhone app, this can take up to around 15 seconds to happen. Note that this had been working perfectly since I got the Play:1 at the start of the year - it's just been in the past few weeks that this annoying behaviour has started happening. As far as I'm aware, nothing environmental has changed (ie WiFi is the same router which hasn't been rebooted for a few months) The phone is an iPhone 7 running the current iOS update with app version 10.3, build 51166240. The Play:1 has the same build version as the iOs app, hardware version 1.20.1.6-2 and is connected over WiFi to my home network on the same net as the phone uses.

I have a semi open-plan living area with Soundbar, Sub and 2 x Play1 speakers (set to surround) in the living section, then 1 x Play1 in the kitchen area which also contributes to the overall surround sound. When I change the volume on the Sonos app I can group all three speakers to change at the same time but when I use my TV remote it only changes the living area speakers and not the kitchen one, creating an imbalance of sound. Is there any way of setting up the 3 x Play1 speakers as an overall surround (rather than just two, left and right)?

Hello, I'm in the process of building a Sonos iPhone app with Swift using the Sonos API but have hit a stumbling block. I would like to detect a state / volume / metadata change on my app when someone uses a different app or the hardware buttons. I believe that subscribing to events is the way forward. I have copied in the reference link below. Here is an observation that I do not how to fix. I have 4 Sonos Play:1 speakers and a Sonos Boost that is hard wired to my router. I have the Sonos app installed on my PC, iPhones, and iPads. If I decide to listen to Pandora stations, I have no issues with the songs skipping. But...when I play songs from a playlist on my phone, I seldom get a song to finish before randomly skipping to another. The only saving grace is when I play songs from my PC Sonos app. When I play songs from my PC they NEVER skip. At first I thought it was just my iPhone that was doing this, but I used my iPad and it did the same thing. So, the question is, is this an Apple problem or a Sonos problem. Either way, it appears that the only ones concerned about this are those that are affected by the constant random skipping. I'm leaning towards this being a Sonos problem because the same song playlists on my iPhone do not skip at all when I am using Blue tooth on my car stereo. So, in closing,

I am using an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.3.1 and Sonos app 10.3. When I select Room Settings within the Settings menu, I receive the spinning wheel suggesting a wait is required and nothing appears for me to select. I went to my Mac desktop controller and noticed that the full Room Settings menu has been removed and I can only change EQ. I want to change the location of a speaker and need to rename it and run Trueplay. Is there a known bug in 10.3?
