I have 8 Sonos products throughout my entire house on 4 separate floors. They work great (for the most part) when I’m home alone. However whenever I have a party and have more than 15 people at my house Sonos freezes up, stops playing, disconnects certain rooms, becomes all whacky in general and it’s an enormous buzzkill. This typically happens when I am streaming Spotify through Sonos, but has also happened with SoundCloud and YouTube Music. Is this because I’m maxing out the bandwidth on my router? If I got a separate router and WiFi network for my Sonos system would this likely fix the issue?
Spotify shuts down often while playing a playlist. Our internet speeds are great so not sure what else could be the cause?
Hello,I have recently bought Sonos One speaker (Sonos OS: S2; Version 13.3) and successfully set it up. I can play music for example from Sonos Radio or Spotify and everything works as expected. But when trying to use AirPlay on different devices (iPhone XR / iPhone 6s / Mac Air) although I am able to see Sonos speakers in the list of available, I keep constantly receiving “Unable to connect to Sonos One” message.I have already gone through various suggested in this case steps found here in Sonos community (Reset, Restart, etc) but all of them don’t work for me. Could you please help?
I have read all previous posts about adding SMB1 and this has been done, I have also set up a user and given read permission to the Music shared folder. The Synology NAS is DS420j running DSM 7.0.1-42218. After I enter the username and password the Error message is “Access to the shared folder “192.168.0.200/music” is denied - check the username and/or password.” I have confirmed by also using my username, which has access to everything, and I get the same error.I am able to access the shared folder from my smart TV which is getting access through the Synology Media Server, therefore I don’t believe there is any issues with the WiFi network. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am planning to buy a used Sonos ZP120 to drive a pair of large speakers that I have. I already have a pair of Sonos One's in another room that I would like to play in sync with the ZP120.I understand that both the ZP120 and the One's are technology generation S1, so they should be able to be joined together as a Group, right? The manual for the ZP120: https://content.abt.com/documents/20166/ZP120_Setup_Guide.pdf page 11, shows a separate hardware Controller device. Can the S1 Control app on my phone do the same thing as this hardware Controller device? If the phone app can talk to the ZP120, Will I be able to adjust bass & treble tone controls on the One's without affecting the ZP120? Does the ZP120 also have the bass & treble tone control feature?I assume the controller app volume control is a master that affects all systems in the Group. But is there also an option to mute or adjust the volume level in each room separately? Thanks, in advance!
6 Sonos speakers including a Move. When Sonos starts up, it’s either the Move by itself, or the 5 others, never all six at once. (2 Play1, 2 playbar,1 Play3). I have assigned fixed IP addresses. The Move has an address that is not numerically near the others. Play 1 = 192.168.1.168/SonosZP-8, Move = 192.168.1.248. Tried everything I could think of. Rebooting, etc. Any ideas?
Why is the Sonos app no longer visible on my iPhone (yet I can find the app if I go to the App Store)?
I just bought the Sonos Arc SL Bar, connecting to my TV LG-70UK6570AUB via HDMI ARC. When my cable box and sonos are connected via HDMI, no sound through Sonos ARC. I can only get sound when I disconnect everything else or if I connect to Optic connection (Optic connection works on TV and Streaming but I loose “Dolby” sound). This happens every time the TV is turned off and on but if the system detects the cable box... no sound. My Cable box doesn't look modern and neither can't set up or modify the type of audio for the cable box. PLEASE HELP!!!!
I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, but our Sonos Play 5 (Gen 2) is no longer visible and can't be added to our Sonos network. When we try to Add Product, it is undiscoverable by Wifi only. When we connect via Ethernet, it can be found and we can walk through the 'Adding process' until we finally receive the message 'Your Play:5 has been added, but may not appear in the System tab. If so, unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish the setup from the System tab'. Immediately after that, the system automatically tries to take us through the 'Add Product' process again, but this time we eventually get the message 'Your mobile device couldn't connect to your Play:5. Make sure the Play:5 is connected to power.' If we unplug and walkthrough the process again, we eventually receive this message: 'Your Play:5 couldn't be set up. Unplug the power cord, plug it back in, and try again.' This is incredibly frustrating. We've tried restoring factory settings 5+ times and keep experien
Hi! I bought a new Samsung smart TV and now I can’t use the same 3,5 mm cable anymore. The tv only has a optical output. I tried to use a cable who has an optical and a 3,5 mm combination, I think it’s called toslink. ( see the link below) That didn’t work unfortunately. I have seen that it’s also existing a kind of optical converter in too 3,5 mm, would that be any better? Would really need some help. https://www.netonnet.se/art/ljud/hifi/optisk-kabel/nedis-digital-ljudkabel-toslink-hane-3-5-mm-optisk-plug-1-m-svart/1006608.13714/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-K2MBhC-ARIsAMtLKRtbTfaHwYshcpbWu5XYh8H_OSJELOhH_DmQpaq6uzbnonArZCom3KUaAgQ_EALw_wcB
After the debacle with MacOS Catalina and playlists, I have gotten the update of playlists to work ok - when I add songs and update the Sonos library, the new songs do appear in the playlists (if I remember to do the updates from the Mac, that is - not if I do it from, say, the iPad controller). So far, so good. But there seems to be two things that the Sonos system does not respect:Sort order of playlists My playlists are invariably set to sort by song title and appear so in the Music app library on the Mac. Yet, in the importde playlists on Sonos, the new songs are simply concatenated to the bottom of the playlists, out of any order (except latest in). Choices made for songs via Music / View Info I have a few songs that I have changed volume for in the Music app or, more importantly, changed start and end times for. These edits are not seen by Sonos. I’d relly rather not have to do manual music file editing…Any comments - any possibiliites to fix these things (or teach me how to make
Hi. One of my sonos amps stopped working. I have a flashing white light. I have tried to reboot, also disconnected for 5 mins, attempted to restore to default, have tried connecting it directly to my router, all of this was done with and without speakers connected to is. it never stops flashing white unless it is disconnect from power. has anyone seen this before? thanks
As discussed elsewhere the HD upgrade in Amazon Music broke existing Sonos playlists. Apparently the only workaround is to recreate your playlists from scratch. The least excruciating approach I have found so far is as follows:In the Sonos desktop controller open the broken playlist and attempt to play. Observe that the playlist appears in the Queue panel and for each song From the Queue panel (not the Music selection panel) select Info and Options from the song dropdown Select Album Info from the Info panel Now select View All Songs on Album From the album song list use the song drop down to add the original playlist’s song to a new play list. This will add the new version of the file to the new playlist. If you like display the new playlist on your mobile device so you can see the list grow as you add the songs It is still a mind numbing and tedious process but at least the layout of the desktop controller lets you stay organized.
HelloIt worked fine for 2 days, now it won't play either from TV or app unless I press physical play button on beam several times, then it works fine. This happens everything is use it now.Anyone have this issue and know how to resolve, did the usual resets but problem persists.
Hi Sonos. My music stops playing. I think it might be tied to the speaker in my kitchen. Can you see anything out of the ordinary?Diagnostic confirmation number:1168524756
So all of a sudden I don’t get sound from my Amp except for the sound it makes when you turn up and down on the buttons on the amp. The app shows music playing but no sound. I can even group it with another speaker and get Tv sound to the other speakers in the group but no sound from the Amp itself. Since I can get the turn up sound I know it’s not the speaker connection. It has been working fine until now.
Not sure when this happened but I am not able to access all the music on my hard drive. It’s there, I can see it. It was buried way deep in a sub-directory so I moved it to a more accessible location. How do I tell Sonos where it is? I don’t really care why it got lost as long as I can get access to it again!!(I;m on an iMac running several Play1s and a Move.)ThanksMarc
i have a lot of drop out from some speakers using Spotify with the errors “unable to play song - the connection to spotify was lost” and also unable to add titles to queue. THe first 15 seconds of the song will play and then stop. i also get an error saying the wifi is unstable but i am running on sonosnet with some hardired speakersWifi channel is set to 11 with sonos net set to channel 1. i have tried moving the speakers or swapping speakers between rooms but the error still exists. Up to a month ago i had no issues. I dont want to invest in a boost unless i know that it will solve the issue. As far as i can see hardwiring a speaker and having a boost should perform the same.i have submitted a diagnostics report 1607533454
Over the past few weeks I have had a number of issues appear with my Sonos system. I have tried resetting, reconnecting, moving, wiring in, and a # of other remedies hoping to fix these issues. (Please note these are all related to trying to play music, my soundbase connected directly to the TV never has issues). I have 3 Ones, a Play:5, and a SoundbaseAirplay is unable to connect to the Sonos (sometimes) - it just spins, and spins, and spins and then says it cannot connect Once I am connected to a speaker it is almost guaranteed it will drop connection in the first 5-10 minutes. If I am able to reconnect, it will not happen again Occasionally, if #1 or #2 happens, I can go straight into the Sonos app on my phone and see the speakers and play that way without issue. HOWEVER, sometimes I cannot even see my speakers through here, and it give me the “Lets fix it!” prompt like it wants a new network. If I do this, it finds all 5 of my speakers. I have done this multiple times, and nothing
I have two annoying problems with my Sonos speakers since we have moved house.Setup:Room 1 Living Room: Sonos Beam + Sub + 2 One (5.1 setup) Room 2: Kitchen: Sonos They all work via WiFi and are directly connected to my router (so no Sonos AMP).Problem 1: TruePlayI used TruePlay in my former home and because we moved house I needed to setup TruePlay again for my Living Room 5.1 setup. I first disabled TruePlay and then tried to setup TruePlay again. The procedure goes fine until I try to finalize the setup and then I get an error and am unable to complete the procedure due to an error. I have tried resetting all Sonos speakers, reset my Router, changed the WiFi SSID, tried disconnecting Bluetooth devices from my iPhone, tried another iPhone. But nothing seems to work to get TruePlay working again.Any idea how I can solve this problem?Problem 2: Rooms keep re-arranging and 5.1 keeps disconnectingSince a week every day my speakers keep getting a new room assigned. So I have two rooms and
HelloI have an issue: on my Mac (latest OS) the S1 Controller can't connect anymore to my Sonos Devices. I restarted router, switches, all Sonos devices one by one. I can control them from my Samsung Mobile and from an iPad. I reinstalled on my mac, connected the system but always get the following screen.Any Idea?
I recently got a new play bar and move my beam to my bedroom TV. At first we connect and play music but would not connect to the TV. Now I can’t even get it to connect to the app. Solid white light on top. Never gets to orange/white or green.Diagnostic confirmation 175169223.
Hello everyone, I have 8 Sonos Speakers at home and everything was working fine for many years.Last year, I have changed my Asus RT-AC3200 for a RT-AX88U. The change was transparent and I didn’t meet any issue until the last weeks. When I use the Party Mode to group all the speakers together, it often happens that some speakers stop playing the music, while other speakers continues. And the sound comes back a few seconds later, like the speaker was temporally not anymore in the group. When it happens, I checked and the speakers with no sound are not muted and still present in the app, in the same group, all playing the same audio source. It appears that this issue happens everytime with the same speakers, but not only with the farest from the router. The wifi coverage is very good Each speaker has a static IP I tried to manually change the Sonos Channel, but same issue Restarting the router didn’t change anything I don’t use Sonos Boost, one Play One is plugged to my router.Has anyone any
I’ve posted about this before, but have since taken the steps recommended to correct the problem and they persist.Basically, I’ve been receiving constant “connection to spotify was lost” and “Song is not encoded correctly” errors. I am using a Boost that is hardwired to the router (I replaced the ethernet cable upon someone suggesting this.) I have a Play:1, Play:3 and Sonos:One.Suspecting that it also might be my router equipment, I replaced it yesterday, but the errors are just as common this morning, so that wasn’t the problem. Any tips you can provide would be very appreciated. The devices are pretty unusable at the moment. My most recent Diagnostic is #653648177
Hi, I haven't ever had any issues with my set up until recently. I have a Beam and 2 play 1’s for a 5.0 set up in my living room. A play 1 in the kitchen and a one SL in the bedroom. My beam is hardwired direct into the router and is showing up as WM0. All other speakers show up as WM1. The issue I’m having is the rear surrounds intermittently drop out with both films/tv (as 5.0) and on music play back. My sonosnet channel was 11 and I’ve changed to 1 and 6 to see if this makes a difference but nothing. Still dropping out. I’ve read about assigning fixed IP’s - but don't see able to access my router as of yet, going to try an ethernet connection this afternoon and will update accordingly. If anyone knows of anything that works without me having to go round the houses I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks all Rob
