Why has Sonos become so unreliable? Skipping songs, dropping speakers, stops playing altogether?
Hi, I am using Sonos Port exclusively as Line out (no line in connected).Essentially I want to play music from the Sonos App into my PC speakers. I read that in this case there should be 0 delay. However I’ve been using it for a while and found there was a noticeable delay. How do I fix this? I’ve set Audio Delay to Low in the Port but still see that the Port is the only unit out of sync.
Hello,I tested today the DTS sound with a Bluray Disc via a PS4 with my Playbase but the sound is hacked ( not continious). In the sound settings of the PS4, i did opt for the dts format.Does anyone know a solution for this problem?Best regards,monte03
for some reason I keep getting the 701 error “(An error occurred while adding tracks to the Queue) with only one of my Spotify playlists, all other Spotify created and self created playlists seem to play fine. I have 3700 songs in my playlist and the Sonos app definitely lists all the songs but as soon as I try to play anything from the playlist I get the error. I've tried playing the first song, shuffle, the play button etc and still get the same results. All apps and settings are current and please don't ask me to restart my device or router. This Sonos app is remarkably buggy and frustrating in other respects but I'm learning to live with it’s clunkiness in hopes of future improvements. Any solutions for the 701 error is appreciated as I really wish to listen to my playlist. Thank you.
Just hooked up my Sonos amp to my lg c1 with hdmi arc cord. The amp and TVs speakers seem like they are at battling one another to play sound. In the course of an hour show they switch back and forth 15-20 times. Any suggestions? It’s really frustrating
I have about 15 Sonos speakers, first one bought around 2010. Lately, the reliability has been very poor. App not detecting speakers, speakers dropping mid song. App telling me speakers are playing and they are not. Last network change was in 2019. Is it just me?I have an Eero pro mesh network, and literally no changes (that I’m aware of) for almost 3 years. Lately when trying to play music, I’d say the system does what I want about 55% of time, the other times there are issues.Anyways, just ranting, but it’s starting to bug me, was just wondering if it’s me and my network or if this is commonplace. Thanks
I’m an Apple user and have my IOS and Sonos devices working across vlans using mDNS. Unfortunately this doesn’t work for MacOS device. Any ideas on why not? Simple solutions? I was excited I didn’t have to do anything weird to get things working and only discovered the MacOS problem as I was wrapping up. Thanks
This problem has been going on for many months now, I live in Montréal, Canada. Many people seem to have reported the same problem and living in Europe or the US.This can happen a few or even many times in an hour and this is very annoying, please help!
Wired Sonos system (IKEA) can see system in Windows App on computer but disappeared from ios app on iPhone and not visible in IKEA App but visible in spotify app on iphone.
I have a large house with 10 Sonos AMP units in the rack.4 of them keep dropping off the app and have red lights on them. We pull the plug and wait a minute and plug back in. They reappear. This happens a few times a week.
I have 2 sonos one in 2 different rooms and in both the speakers I cant’n stream music from Apple Music or any other service except from Spotify using Airplay. I resetted both speakers twice, restarded both the router and iphone but nothing changed.do you have any suggestions?
website allows sign in app will not
I have a Sonos surround setup with Playbar, Sub Woofer and two surround speakers. For some streaming services (Amazon Prime, TV Channels that broadcast in DD) that say it is broadcasting in Dolby Digital, things work fine and when I check in the Sonos app,it correctly indicates that it is receiving a DD input. However for some streaming services (HBO Max, Apple TV) the app only indicates Stereo PCM even though the service says it is broadcasting in DD. Appreciate any insight as to why things work with some services but not all.
Hi,Due to some wifi improvement I want to remove my boost. I did it by just unplugging it but then of course my devices are not recognized anymore. It's not possible to get the system working anymoreOn the forum I see that you actually need to remove a device in the app first, but I can only find these topics about a BRIDGE, and not about a BOOST.The app doesnt have an option to remove a Boost either. Is the best option to re-install my whole system again? And how to do that? (as the app cant find any of the devices in my system)It was installed originally with a Boost (so wired to the routed) and the rest "wireless": 2x Play3, a playbar, a Sub and a Play1.Thanks for advice.
One attachment shows the sonos app will use iheartradio and spotify services to search by artist. However the other attachment shows the sonos app will not use these services to search by genre. Why not please? TIA .... Greg
The playbar connects temporarily (a few minutes) and disappears from the device list). I tried the solutions in the following posts but they don’t wotk.https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/playbar-disappears-from-app-control-6826565I tried connecting through ethernet but the same happens. Thanks in advance for your help!

I was part of your developer community a few years ago and I still have my Alexa app showing me in the DEV category and I wanted to know if I could be removed from that as my Alexa Sonos integration is not working very well if at all.
Having trouble with Beam cutting out when streaming music but only when playing on other speakers as well. Setup = Sonos Boost - plugged into one node of TP Link Mesh, 2 Sonos Play1, 4 Sonos1 speakers and Sonos Beam all in different rooms. If I stream music only to the Beam it works fine (never cuts out). If I stream music to the beam and to other rooms the beam will periodically cut out and then come back on. Prior to the Beam, I had 2 Sonos1 speakers in the room as a stereo pair and had no issues.I have checked my network speed and I am consistently above 150 mbpsI have changed the network channel….no fixI have checked to make sure all are showing WM 0 Anybody in the same boat? Any solutions/ideas?
We keep getting an error message saying that we are “unable to connect devices. Try again later.” We have a Sonos arc, a play one, two Sonos ones, and a move. The Sonos ones and the move won’t connect to any other devices in the system. They will work individually, but I’m unable to use features like “play everywhere“ or any groups. We have restarted the router and restarted all the devices as some of the forums recommend. we also ran a diagnostic: 2083649892
I have Sonos beam with 2 play one’s. The play ones keep disconnecting frequently. I followed the troubleshooting steps on the forum now the problem is in the app play ones appear to have music played on them but it is not. Need your help, at times it is frustrating to do the same things again and again with no permanent solution.
Hello all!I just bought myself my first Sonos Ikea Speaker. When playing Spotify it starts to make strange cracking sounds but the music continues playing.i was able to catch in on video maybe you can see/hear for yourself. Thanks in advance
I’m unable to add new speakers to my existing system because a Bridge still shows up as in the system even though I’ve gone through the removal/reset process on the Bridge. After resetting the Bridge (repeatedly), as well as rebooting the router, the Bridge still shows up in the system. The system has a Port, still works and even updates. But, when I go to add a new speaker to the system, the app says I need to update the system, which always fails because it still shows a Bridge that’s incompatible with S2. Any suggestions how to remove/forget the Bridge short of having to forget and reinstall my entire system (some 15 products)? Thanks in advance.
I’m using Sonos S1 with a Sonos ZP100, a Sonos 3, and a couple of Sonos 1s. My music library is stored on a mac mini, called Desktop. I’m using an Eero gateway router and also have an Eero beacon. My setup can work, except frequently (perhaps daily) I get the message:Unable to play ‘song name’-cannot connect to //Desktop/Music because the server cannot be foundI try all sorts of things to resolve the problem, fiddling with settings in Sonos and on my Mac, rebooting Sonos components or the Mac, but the only thing that resolves the issue is restarting my Eero gateway. So I can’t figure out if the issue lies in the desktop, the Sonos components, or the Eero. Restarting the router daily is obviously very disruptive.
