Despite having had a Boost installed for quite some time now, I noticed earlier today that my Sonos subwoofer is connected to my wireless network. I first noticed it in my Unifi network dashboard as ‘Sonos Connect Hero’ and then cross-referenced that to ‘About my system’ using IP address.I had noticed before that despite the Boost, my 5ghz network seems to randomly re-appear in the Sonos network settings. Each time, I remove it, then some time later it reappears. How do I permanently ensure that the sub is connecting only via the Boost and NONE of the Sonos speakers are connecting to my wifi?
I have a Sonos bridge that of course cannot be updated. I have a playbar and a Sonos 1. mad I cannot update the bridge, I cannot link my Alexa. my question is, can I just remove the bridge and reconnect the playbar and play 1 directly to the internet? Apologies, I’m not that tech savvy so I need simple. L
Hopefully the hive mind can help. My wife was struggling accessing one room on Sonos. It turned out to be a WiFi error subsequently.I’m not sure how she did it but she established another Kitchen group ( called Kitchen 2) which includes components which weren’t in there. ( a Sonos Connect) i seem stuck with it. Even though the group and items aren’t there. The connect is in another room performing fine. Try as I might im unable to delete the room or the connect from it.Do I have to delete the whole system and start again ? It’s just an increasing annoyance. Thanks
Over the last couple of months I’ve noticed when trying to adjust a rooms volume in the sonos app, it will jump ± several points. For example if I move the slider to 13, it will jump up to 15 after I remove my finger from the slider. Sometimes it will jump down, to say, 11. App is up to date and so is the system. It’s been really annoying. Anyone else?
I am having an issue playing Spotify through my Sonos app. I keep getting an error message saying "Unable to play (song) the connection to Spotify was lost." It starts then stops after 20 seconds. I understand this is a widespread problem with no definitive solution. I so close to switching to another system so I am begging 4 help!! • Internet connection is stable.• Issue just occured today during playback. Sonos system was installed a 5+ years ago, and everything was working fine until last month • Spotify app works fine by itself, and I can not play Sonos Radio through the speakers. The same issue when I try to play Spotify through Sonos.• I have tried powering the Sonos amps off and on. No fix.• I have removed my Spotify account in the Sonos app, and then reconnected it. No fix.• I have tried clearing my queue in the Sonos app. No fix.• I checked for updates on both apps after the problem occured. No update for Spotify, but I did update Sonos. No fix.
Having returned my first Sonos Roam to the retailer as it simply didn’t work at all, and received a replacement, I am finding the replacement impossible to use too. Apple Music won’t work with it (Sonos cannot access my playlists even though it lists them), and the connection with Bluetooth is very unreliable.I am returning my second Sonos roam to the retailer for a full refund and will never purchase another Sonos product again. The Sonos Roam is very probably the worst consumer product I have ever had the stupidity to buy.
I’ve been having issues with playlists exported from iTunes, where any songs with special characters in the filename wouldn’t play in the playlist, despite playing fine when playing through my library within Sonos. Support weren’t unable to resolve this, their solution was to export as .xml instead of .m3u or .m3u8 - from what I can see it doesn’t even support .xml playlists.Anyway I came across this manual workaround within these forums, which did solve the problem, however I have quite a few playlists, with a number of problem tracks in each, I also export regularly to pick up any updates to the playlists so manually editing every time would be a nightmare.I’ve ended up writing a PowerShell script to fix all of my playlists with one click. I saw a request elsewhere for a script to do this so posting it here in case it is of use to anyone. Simple copy the script to a new file and save as type .ps1, editing the three variables at the top as per your own structure. If your playlist path
I hear an intermittent thump during softer passages of various files, particularly in Calm. Though it sounds like a bass kick drum, it is irregular and clearly not keeping time. This often happens with nature sounds or similar as I fall asleep. I don’t see this addressed for Sonos One in the archive.
I recently reset my phone to factory settings to give it a refresh. I recently went to play Spotify through my songs arc. I now can’t get my arc to connect to Spotify or my wifi. Has anyone come across this issue?
Since about 3 weeks I have a strange issue, my Sonos seems to be haunted. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday my Sonos 1 plays a radio station at exactly 5:11 AM. I am unable to find any settings why this is happening, but it kind of drives us crazy as the speaker involved is in the bedroom. Anyone else having had this experience?
TL;dr - Force quit the Sonos app and Reboot the iOS device. App should work again. This morning my iPhone Sonos app will not connect to services or allow me to play some music sources. No Amazon sources are available. When I visit settings - Services & Voice i get a white screen and popup saying “Network Problem Detected - Check internet connection and try again.” Re-opening the app would lead to an immediate crash/quit. Problem effects only one device running iOS 16. Other devices in the home are on 15.7.I found the same problem when iOS 13.something was released:I checked my DNS logs and found nothing relevant from the iPhone with the issue. So I tried rebooting the iPhone. While writing this up I noticed the iPhone had finished rebooting and found the Sonos app was now working. Seems like another Sonos release not quite right with a new iOS version.Sonos App Network Error
Both Windows 10 and 11 sonos app is repeatedly dropping connection to system and requiring restart of computer etc. This is happening in the middle of normal play and for no apparent reason. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Extremely annoying.
Hi,I have two large areas, often used for trainings/workshops. We would like to install some in-ceiling speakers, powered by a Sonos Amp.If you combine a Sonos Amp with Sonance speakers, you can connect up to six speakers to one Sonos. So I'll guess we’ll go for that option.Below you can see the layout of the two areas. Please see them as one big room, there is no wall or door between them. It’s ok that the same music is played in these two areas. In 95% of the cases, the speakers will need to provide some soft background music (in a non-distracting way). However, in some specific cases we need to play some loud audio files. A true stereo-setup will be difficult in these areas, so we’ll work in dual mono mode. The key thing I’m struggling with is speaker placement. Given below layout, how should I place the six speakers for evenly distributed sound?
I've noticed some inconsistencies with Trueplay on my system (Beam Gen 1 with a Sub Mini and two Gen 2 Ones as surrounds) since the latest update. In particular, starting with Trueplay turned on and then turning it off and back on results in better sound quality even though Trueplay is on in both cases. In more detail, I performed a Trueplay calibration after the latest update (14.18). Now when I stream music (using Amazon Music) the surrounds are very loud and the sub is very quiet with Trueplay on. However, turning Trueplay off and then back on while the song is playing temporarily fixes this and gives a much more balanced sound. This fix lasts until I play the next song, at which point it reverts to the unbalanced sound (until if toggle Trueplay off and on again). This issue does not exist when watching TV as far as I can tell, so increasing the sub volume would make the sub far too loud when watching TV.In case it helps, I have uploaded two sets of diagnostic data: the first (1642236
Since latest update both my pc’s intermittently lose connection to the system and demand reboots of pc, router, etc. This is pretty annoying and didn’t happen with previous versions of the Windows app. I use Windows 11 latest update.on one pc and Windows 10 on the other and both have the same issue.
My posts keep being deleted without answer. Is this company just pretending there’s no problem when a quick visit to the Google Play Store shows you 1 star review after 1 star review of people saying Sonos products are now useless paperweights? Can I even get some help with my FOUR $200 SL One devices that don’t work at all? The phone app simply forgets they exist and then it’s back to factory resets to add them again. Again and again. The app is unstable rendering Sonos products unusable. Will this post also be deleted before posting?
Why do I often get where I am u able to get a hold of someone for the 24/7 support? I'm calling right now and being told by a recording that it is after hours. There is no after hours with 24/7 support. Lol. I'm trying to get a warranty issue started before the item goes out of warranty.
I am having problems with the search field in the Sonos Android app S2. The problem is that when I type something into the search field, after a few characters the text gets selected, and than the next character that you type deletes the already inserted text. Hard to explain, but watch the inserted Youtube movie, where I am trying to search for Supertramp. The problem occurs on all my devices: Samsung S22 Ultra, Oneplus 6, Oneplus 3, Motorola g7. Also my wife's Oneplus 8Pro, which uses my Sonos account. The problem does NOT occur on my iPad Air 4.So it would be safe to say that it is not device-dependant. It is driving me crazy, it is impossible to search this way. What I have tried so far:new install of app empty cache of app empty data of app clean install (on my new S22 Ultra) Different soft-keyboards, with all settings tried out (auto correct, autofill, spell-check). Hardware keyboard Voice command Deleting music servicesNothing helped, what can I try more?Is my account corrupt
I have read all the posts about compatibility issues between Sonos and T-Mobile Home Internet service. The answers all involve complex restructuring of either a new router, changing channels, compatibility with 2.4 vs 5 Ghz signals and etc. Given that this type of internet service provided by T-Mobile and now Verizon and soon AT&T is really a great value and performs well, I would like to know if Sonos has any plans to fix this incompatibility issue. It is very annoying and lessens my commitment to the Sonos platform even though I have about $2500 worth of equipment. Please give me an answer.
Hello,I have used spotify with sonos for a long time now, but for some reason spotify cant play on all my speakers specifically my two Play 1. When i start a playlist it keeps skipping songs and says “unable to play song, connection lost”. Usually after 3-5 skipped songs it will start playing. Both speakers are wired, and have been working for a long time. I have rebooted the speakers. Re connected spotify to sonos app. Router reboot.Everything else seems to work just fine, all other speakers (Arc, Sub, Play5 and one/sl) are working perfectly.
Hi. There are a number of threads about this I know, but we´re stil having trouble, Recently upgraded to S2 without really giving the matter much thought. We now have three components working on S2, but there is an incompatible Bridge which has not been used for ages also showing. It is preventing further updates and the inclusion of two other components we had on S1 and still want to use with S2. These two were not plugged in at time of updating to S2 but they are S2 compatible. We have tried several things a number of times, including an attempt to factory reset the Bridge to remove it from the S2 system, but it seems to not want to let go. There is no component removal option for the bridge in S1 either. It shows the Bridge as part of the S1 system and our three working S2 components as incompatible (understandably). Any ideas? There also seem to be several areas in the Sonos help pages that don´t match up with what we´re seeing in the apps (S1 & S2). The S2 app won´t allow us to
Hi Everyone,I would appreciate your input on whether I can achieve what I am trying to. Background: We did a big renovation 10+ years ago. As part of that we had in-ceiling Bose speakers installed by our contractor. One pair in the kitchen, one in the adjacent fmily room and a pair outside on our deck.We elected to drive these via an Onkyo Surround sound receiver which allowed an A & B zone (generally because we wanted to select between music inside and/or the deck). This worked ok once I fiddled with the surround levels (I know, I know). However, we now mostly listen to music via digital sources which I couldn’t easily do with theAmp/Receiver. So. . .I bought a Sonos Amp and a Russound SDB-6.1 (which I realize now is more than I needed, 6 PAIRS, not 6 speakers). I wired the Kitchen pair to Speaker 1 L & R on the SDB-6.1, the Fam Room to Speaker 2 L&R and the Deck to Speaker 6 L&R.I then connected the SDB-6.1 Amp #1 connections L&R to the banana plugs for the Left
Hi AllI have a sonos 1, Ray and roam all in the ground floor and all connected by wifi.I also have a wifi extender which is mainly there when I go to the garden. When I tried to group all 3 devices (whilst in the house) I get the error message ‘wireless range extender, cannot group’So, I bought a boost, installed it but still get exactly the same message so it appears it was a complete waste of money.Any ideas? Have I done something wrong?many thanks
I have trying to understand the source of some recent internet issues, and I notice that Sonos connects to several destinations each hour, to check time, amazon web services and firmware. But one of my Sonos devices has been connecting each hour to three IP address that I do not understand. They connect through UDP 123 (ntp) to185.117.82.71 (Bulgaria)5.196.160.139 (France) 81.7.16.52 (Germany)After disconnecting this Play 3, I don’t see any other Sonos devices make connections to these IP addresses. Does anyone else see connections to these addresses?
I have a selection of Sonos speakers.2 Fives, 4 play onesPlus 2 bridgesAll are old and can only operate under S1.Each device is hardwired into my network and each has a static IP address.I suffer with multiple dropouts, mostly with streamed radio.Groups fall apart, and have to be remade or alternatively everything just stops. With the upgrade discount I can replace all this kit with the latest versions, I’m just not sure the problems will go away!!Any thoughts?
