How would you connect an Audio Technica AT-LP120 record player? I tried to connect directly to Play 5 and can't get it to play.

Hi sonos and fellow users, I have been doing a lot of sonos in domestic jobs which I use multiple sonos amplifiers or connects in them in racks, can sonos produce a narrower form factor for it to be rack mountable. At current sizes, you can fit 2 connect amps side by side, or 3 connects. If you have racked version, you might able to squeeze in 4 units. I have attached one of the jobs that I have done....note the system still cool even though it’s in a cupboard with door close, front door vent on bottom, and a extraction vent in roof cavity to extract the heat, system is almost silent with this setup just incase you had a question if the system goes hot? I have other systems that is a similar setup to this, and I’m sure there is the custom installer that have large sonos jobs like this too

Hi sonos and fellow users, This has been proberly discussed on many occasions, I have installed many sonos products and competitive products too, the advantages of the competition is that they can play hi resolution audio, why is that important, well some clients have dedicated stereo systems, and want something that’s in higher quality when it comes to playback, that’s where sonos is falling behind, the other thing is some customers don’t have the ability to network their music or need a NAS drive or even have to leave their computer on 24/7. Can sonos start introducing USB ports so the client can stream direct or share it, and also Bluetooth capabilities. Unfortunately here in Australia our internet is not the most reliable time to time, and that if there is no interenet, there is no music, if they have the options of streaming from USB or Bluetooth, it’s always a great backup option

New connect:amp problem - I just bought it brand new and it doesn't turn on. Plug it in and nothing, no light. I tried both wattage options also - any ideas?

Hi all. I tried searching a bit, but haven’t found a direct answer to my question. I currently have a Connect hooked up by optical to my Denon. I can play anything through the Sonos controller just fine. I’m wondering how I get my TV sound currently running through the Denon back out to the Sonos in other room. I know I need a line out on the Denon to go to the line in on the Sonos. On the back of my receiver I have an Out and a Pre Out. The Out is labeled DVR and the Pre Out is labeled Zone2 for adding other zones with the Denon. I’ve tried running through the DVR portion and setting the line in on the Connect, but I can’t get TV sound to other zones. I read somewhere that people were using Zone2 Out, but then skimmed an article where someone said not to as it could damage the Connect. Can someone shed some light on what is needed? Thanks! Sam

The Line In on one of my Connect Amps, to which a Dot is wired, is set to Autoplay. With grouped speakers also checked. It works fine except when switching back to the Dot after music play via the app. Not only will the wired to Line In Dot not override music playing when given a voice command, music play does not start via the Dot even after the earlier music play is stopped using the app. And even after the queue is cleared via the app. When I pulled out the audio wire from the Dot, music was playing, heard via its speaker in response to the command it had received; plugged the wire back, but no music play. It took pressing the start/stop button on the Connect Amp and three flashes of the green light before music from the wired Dot started. There is no trouble in the reverse direction, in starting music from the app after the Dot is commanded to stop. Is this normal? Should the Line In set to Autoplay not respond to a signal as soon as it gets it? PS: The Dot signal levels also s

Hi, just got my Amp up and running and it's working but no sound from my sub. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? Needless to say the sub is plugged in, switched on and hooked up to the subwoofer port on the Amp. Thanks!

Hello all, I have a Marantz SR7012 and want to use all my sonos units throughout Home to play what’s coming from receiver, via TV, video games and even music station from receiver. I have the connect unit with my receiver and need to know what output from receiver to input from connect unit. Once I know what output to use, I would need to know if any special settings within receiver, if applicable. I already have it working the other way, to hear music play through all surround speakers by hooking to receiver input CD. Thanks

I currently am using the line in on my CONNECT but not the line out. Is it possible to hid the CONNECT from room listings (except in settings, of course) so that it doesn't show up as a room selection in the app?

Is the Bridge no longer necessary? If I recently installed a new AC router, should I take my bridge off-line?

Hi All, I already have a sonos connect amp powering some in ceilings, as well as a play 1. I now want to use an AV receiver with a SONOS connect and have a few questions: When I hit play on the connect amp, there is no turning the system on (its auto sensing)...I just hit play pn the app and it plays. If I'm using an AV receiver though, won't I have to switch the source to wherever the SONOS connect is plugged into.....as well as making sure the AV receiver is always on (or manually turning it on each time I want to use it which is not 'clean'). Is there a way around this or am I just incorrect? Also...I though I read about an AV receiver that basically had the connect built into it? Does this exist? Thanks all!

I have a Connect, Connect Amp and Play 5. I want to put Sonos in the master bathroom and would rather use Ceiling Speakers than have a Play 1, since outlets are not in great places in the bathroom. Why is a Connect Amp three times the price of a Play 1?

How to play stereo sound on Play 5 stereo pair thru connect I have bought second PLAY:5 over Thanksgiving. Connect only plays Mono Sounds. How to fix this?

I bought the (2) Sonos Play:1 speakers and the Connect with the understanding that I could connect older audio components to the Connect, which is the idea behind Connect. I did not realize that for $350 it only has one input! what the? So, I can connect my CD player - that works fine. But, I cannot connect anything else because there is no other input options. what i really want to do is connect a Chromecast Audio to the Connect so that I can use Google Home through Sonos. I know that sometime next year Sonos will work with Google Home, but not yet. My understanding was that Chromecast could be connected to Connect, but there with only one input, its either Chromecast OR CD player, not both. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to run two components into the RCA inputs at the same time?

I have a Playbar and 2X1's in the Living Room and a Connect in the Lounge. The Connect is connected to a turntable as input and a Sony receiver as output. The two rooms are grouped so that we can either hear the turntable when in the Living Room or hear the Sonos music when we're in the Lounge. Works great! Now I want to be able to watch TV in the Living Room with audio playing only through my Sennheiser TR-120 wireless headphones. I was hoping to just plug them into the audio output of the receiver but I can't figure out how to get the audio from the TV to the receiver via the Connect instead of the Living Room Playbar and speakers.

I have rca cable plugged into tape record on nad into audio in on connect and have a cd and turntable hanging off amp but am getting no music on sonos app-what can i have done wrong(apart from plugging jacks in wrong way around!) thanks

Hi! I've 3x Sonos Connects, which I used to connect to my Amp / speakers in different rooms. Over time I've bought play1s for the kitchen, dining room etc instead. I just noticed that the Connects are really expensive... why are they so much more than then Play1? They don't have any speakers etc?

Have a boost that replaced an old bridge long ago now wondering if makes sense to just give away the bridge (no longer on the network), or is there reason to keep. Have wired Boost & Playbar with a Play1 & Play3 over wi-fi (with mostly good signal results), along with a wired NAS. Wi-Fi router broadcasts 2.5Ghz & 5Ghz. Read others discussing SonosNet v1.0 vs. v2.0 and especially since I have a wired Boost & Playbar, maybe just ditch the bridge? Or does it make sense to keep to in some way extend the range & coverage somehow to my Wi-Fi players? Thanks!

Due to purchasing a new 65 inch sony oled 4k tv, ive moved my older55 inch sony with playbar to another room, but it will only be used infrequently. Therefore what i would like to do is to disconnect the playbar from that room and use it in the room with the new 4k tv but only for listening to music as the sound from this new tv is excellent . Therefore i want to know if the playbar will work just as a speaker not being connected to a tv. I can connect it to an ethernet cable which goes to my virgin media broadband hub. As the 4k tv only arrived yesterday id like some time to listen to it via its own speakers for a while and then might decide to connect it to the playbar at a later stage if required. Thanks.

The Marantz amp has red and white connections labeled pre out. The Sonos Connect has red and white connectors labeled in. The Soros connect unit comes with audio cables with red and white plugs on one end and just a white plug on the other end. ???? Should I be using audio cables with red and white plugs on both ends?

If you pair a sub with a play:5 for example, you can clearly hear the play:5 is cut at the frequency the sub starts at, which is how it’s supposed to be. If you’d add a sub to a playbar for a surround setup to watch a movie this should not happen because the sub should be the .1 aka the LFE channel. Which also means the playbar should be full range. Is this the case? Or is the sub paired to the soundbar to be an extension for the low frequencies?

New to sonos having recently purchased a PLAYBAR and PLAY1 for my main living room tv and dining area. I am enjoying the ease of use. I need some help on integrating sonos into my new pool house and dedicated media room. I have very limited knowledge of AV equipment. Brief description of setup-with a goal of 3 audio zones: ZONE 1: Media room with Denon AVR X3400H and 5. 1 surround set up (not using sonos speakers for the surround set up). Denon AVR output to projector and outdoor tv. Cable box, DVD player, and Roku input to receiver. Sonos CONNECT hooked up to AVR-*see below ZONE 2: outdoor tv, one pair of outdoor speakers( wired into closet in media room). Outdoor speakers powered by CONNECT:AMP ZONE 3: 2 pairs of in ceiling speakers indoors in the pool house-but separate from media room (again wired to av closet in media room). In ceiling speakers powered by CONNECT:AMP My goals are: 1) Be able to stream music from sonos app to one or any combination of the audio zone
