HI community, I have read that 4 speakers, each at 4 Ohms, put in parallel in Sonos Amp is flat out not possible. Even 6 ohms each would not be possible. The requirement is 8 ohms, so the total net load is at a minimum 4 Ohms. But all of the discussions are for parallel speaker configurations. What about 2 speakers, 4 ohms each, connected in series on each channel? I am not an audiophile, and not sure what that would do to (a) the sonos amp and (b) general listening quality.   

I have an older TV that does not support HDMI ARC, but does have HDMI ports. My Sonos connect was working fine, then just stopped (lost connection on SONOS) ethernet lights were solid green/ amber. Disconnected and switched off and on, white light flashed but system couldn’t recognise its existence. Switched off / on again but this time no white light. This is now how it appears. Has it finally packed up?

Hi all,I have recently purchased a Sonos Connect Amp to power bathroom ceiling speakers. As I only need one speaker in the bathroom, I have decided to run the second channel to another single speaker in an adjoining bathroom. I understand I won’t be able to play music to each bathroom separately but I’m wondering how I wire these speakers so that each single speaker plays both L and R channels (Dual mono is what I think it’s called but only available on newest Sonos Amp, not the connect)Ideally I’d still want to be able to pan audio entirely to just the one speaker if I had to. I just need the amp to output both L and R channels through the single output.Any help would be appreciatedCheers 

Hey I have a Denon AVR-S750h Receiver.  I wanted to know if I could connect the Sonos In Ceiling speakers to the receiver directly without having to purchase the amp or the sonos connect?    

So I just got a sonos port because I wanted to be able to add my sonos play 1 speakers to my analog speakers to listen to use my turntable. The setup I have is a TX-8160 onkyo receiver and a technics turntable. When I stream music via the sonos app (i.e. the port is the source of the music) the sonos play and analog speakers are in sync. When I play the receiver (e.g. radio, turntable, etc.) the sonos play is out of sync with my analog speakers.  After some trouble-shooting I am able to deduce that the sound processing in the onkyo is creating the delay. Now I am wondering:Do all receivers cause the same problem? Is it impossible to go from a receiver to the port and synchronize the signal? Can the signal only come from the sonos app (i.e. the port) to have synchronicity between the sonos speaker and analogs? Are there reasonably priced receivers that do not have this problem? I talked to sonos tech support and they said that the receiver is the issue but they couldn’t tell me if this

Hi. I have an integrated CD/Tuner/Amp. I want to play my CDs from this unit to my sonos speakers in other part of my home. I have a Connect. The hifi has outputs for speakers and two AUX inputs (one phono and one jack).I have tried connecting the CONNECT from both its line in and line out phono sockets to the AUX on the HIfi unit without any result.What am I not doing correctly?

Will the gen 1 connect amp be compatible with the gen 3 sub and arc if used as the surrounds. Will it be compatible if used in a different room to link all together or will it need to be operated with just the s1 app. So I guess what I’m asking is can I still link together on the new app or not. 

Hi, I would like drive two pairs of Magnat Symbol 130 speakers to one Sonos Amp.The specs. of the speaker says that the impedance is 4-8 ohms.I asked the company what they meant by 4-8 ohms. They answered as follows:“the impedance is 4 ohm and they also work in the range between 4-8 ohms.”Can I get an opinion if connecting two pairs to of these speakers work for my setup or:Should I stick with two pairs of 8 ohm only speakers Should I connect these speakers in series instead of parallelThanks in advance

My Denon 4400h has a HDMI output to feed Zone2 with both audio and video. Can I use that connection to feed the Sonos Amp using the HDMI input even though the output is audio and video and not specifically ARC.

I have been having 2 pairs of outdoor Polk speakers connected to a connect: amp for a year and now the sound is very low over 50 on the 4 speakers. any suggestions??

Looking to buy some RF 7 3s for my Sonos amp. Wondering if it’s too much for my amp or get something smaller? I really don’t want to go buy a true AV receiver. Reason being that I would have to go and get a Sonia connect and I feel like it’s a hassle. Please recommend me floor speakers. 

Hi everyone looking for a bit of advice regarding the Line-In source level.iv’e recently purchased a project esprit turntable which I’ve linked to a Sonos Port.I play it through two paired Sonos 3 speakers.my question is what would you recommend I set the source level to ?I had it at 8 and found it quite distorted.I’m currently playing it at level four but noticed there’s a big difference in sound ?any advice would be much appreciated.steven

I’m reading up on the Sonos Port and I have a couple of questions. As I understand it the 12V Trigger just works as an on/off trigger for my amp.  Assuming my amp/receiver support 12V triggers it will bring it back on from a sleep/standby mode.   But it won’t change inputs, right? If that’s the case, is there any way to do this with a receiver?   Thanks in advance!  

I have a question regarding what formats the Digital Out (coax) on the Sonos Port outputs. No matter what types of FLAC files I play with the Sonos Port it always output the audio format 44.1kHz, 24 bit. The files are located in my personal music library.Files that I've tried:44.1kHz, 16 bit FLAC 44.1kHz, 24 bit FLAC 48kHz, 16 bit FLAC 48kHz, 24 bit FLACAll these files are outputted as 44.1kHz, 24 bit from the Sonos Port according to my DAC.My questionIs this the correct behavior of the Sonos Port? I’m currently waiting for my Arc, Sub3 and One SLs to come in. But also thinking about getting the Amp or port to listen to vinyl as well. Maybe a dumb question, but say I have my Arc, Sub, and One SLs in my family room and my turntable downstairs plugged into an Amp or Port. Can I connect via wi-fi and listen to my turntable through Arc/Sub setup upstairs?

I have recently upgraded my Connect:Amp to a new Amp. I have it connected to a pair of B&W CM1S2 speakers.I have noticed that a very low volume white noise is coming from the speakers when there is no music playing on the Amp. The white noise is there at all times, not only just after stopping the music.I did not have this issue with my Connect:Amp. The speakers where completely silent when no music was playing.Does anyone else had this problem or should I suspect that the Amp has a defect?I had no luck with Sonos danish support

I’m ready to upgrade my system to S2, but this required removal of some other components from my system, which I can do without but might choose to upgrade later.  Will these components remain visible on my account and, therefore, be ‘upgradable’ in future should the offer still exist? Thanks in advance for your help. 

Hello, I’m DJing with a DDJ 1000 and i’m interested in buying a SONOS FIVE for my small living room. My main need is to have no latency. I saw that the SONOS FIVE has a AUX IN, but I also heard that the SONOS FIVE has a 70ms latency with its Wi-Fi connection. Is it possible to confirm to me that with the AUX IN, there is no latency ? Thanking you in advance for your answer !

I have two sets of wired speakers with my current stereo system, but I would like to move to the Sonos system so that I can control music remotely and in different rooms.  I have looked at the Sonos Amp, however most of the time I will not want to have music playing on both sets of wired speakers I have at the same time.  It looks like the Amp does not give me the option of playing music through only one set of the speakers at a time.  What are my options?  Speaker switch?Also, if I did go with the Amp, could I install a pair of Sonos wireless speakers and have it playing the same music that is playing through my wired speakers?Thank you in advance for any heip you can give.

New member here.  Playing music from my MAC and connecting to my Sonos Amp from 3.5mm out of MAC to double RCA connections on the Amp.  Does the Sonos Amp have a DAC inside of it that overrides the subpar MAC DAC or is the DAC from the MAC converting digital to analog and that is what’s going into the Sonos Amp?  Same question about the PORT?  Does the PORT have a DAC internal to it? 

Looking to extend music playback into my backyard just for a few hours at a time.  The seating area is approximately 50’ from the house, but the stereo playback equipment is on the opposite interior side.I have an existing hardwired whole house system, so ideally I would be able to just grab a line level output from my preamp and add something like Sonos Connect with a battery powered speaker option out in the yard?  I’m guessing the stock broadcast distance is too much for Connect and I would also need the Boost?If the component requirements get too crazy, I’ll just rent a trencher and run conduit out w/ 12ga wire and pick up another amp.

Hi If I connect tree pairs if in ceiling speakers to one amp, is it possible to make each pair play by them selves or will all of them always play at the same time?  thanks
