Turntable works with Play 5 but won't Sync with Era 100

Hi have a turntable working with the Play 5

It won’t sync with my Era 100 with playing the turntable.

I have checked that but are set to line in (turntable)

Tested amazon, music works and syncs just fine both ways, its only when I try and sync the turntable it fails.
On the app it looks like its working, there’s graphic sound bars going up and down as if it is working.

Any advice out there in the world of Sonos?

Hello @cliveainley, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Please have a look on the following Support Article Line-In audio stops or skips when Sonos rooms are grouped and more specifically the below:

Adjust Line-In audio compression

We recommend changing your Line-In audio compression setting to help with skipping or stopping Line-In audio, especially when streaming to multiple rooms. Follow the steps in our article on adjusting Line-In Audio Compression and change the setting to Compressed, then test your Line-In audio playback.

You can also try enabling Autoplay and make sure to include Grouped rooms, have a look at Adjust Line-In settings Support Article.

What happens if you simply choose the Line-in source to play just on your Sonos Era 100? If it still doesn’t play audio from the turntable, maybe there is a difference on how the two (Sonos Era 100 and Sonos Play:5) are connected.

A network refresh might assist for that scenario and you can achieve it by rebooting all network devices involved. Start with your Router → Sonos → Controller (smartphone/tablet).

Also bare in mind of the Sonos system requirements and supported network setups.

If nothing from the above worked, please reach out to our Support Team for some live troubleshooting. They have tools at their disposal to provide you with information and advice specific to your Sonos System and what it reports.

I hope this helps.

You are using the official Sonos adapter for the Era, right?

I assume the turntable is wired to the Play 5 using the Sonos adapter. You should also set the Five as the Auto play room for covienence. I would additionally set the auto play volume to about mid-point or slightly less and adjust upward as needed.

To bring in the Era 100 I’d just group it in. You can adjust the volume for each individually just by touching the volume slider in the app or at the speaker itself.

I find the above approach much simpler than adjusting/pointing the line-in to another speaker versus my main autoplay Sonos speaker.
