Sonos unable to connect following MacOS update (15.3)

Following an overnight update to MacOS 15.3 my Sonos Controller is unable to access the network. Message of check your firewall settings. So I have:

  1. In Firewall settings, ensured (and toggled off then on) Sonos.app allowing incoming connections is on;
  2. Ensured Sonos.app is allowed to access Local Network (again toggled off/on);
  3. Deleted and downloaded up-to-date version of Sonos.app;
  4. Rebooted Mac
  5. Reset Sonos.app which then can’t find products during set-up.

Note: Sonos.app on Iphone and iPad are working normally.

Any further suggestions?

Odd. I would call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

The latest update has broke the MacOS Sonsos S2 app and Sonos needs to fix it.   What is odd is Sonos is laying off employees instead of fixing the issues, which they should have known about before Apple released the update.

Pangani, I share your pain on four Mac computers as well.  Hopefully they will have an update and not push us to try and use the web app.

Today I launched the Sonos Controller app prior to giving the Sonos helpdesk a call and it is communicating with the network without issues. No change to settings and no reboot. Super strange. Having used the web app for the last few days its an okay backup.

I downloaded the software again just to see if it would help.  Nope.  I turned the firewall off completely on my Mac.  It didn’t work.  So far no luck.  Pagani - is it still working for you on MacOS 15.3?

Update:  For giggles, I deleted the app again and reinstalled.  When I opened it this time, it asked to allow Sonos to connect to items on the network.  I clicked yes, and now we are back up and running again.

Not working for me either.  Followed all the steps and downloaded new app on Feb 14 2025.  Still no joy.

What did Sonos Support say, when you called in?

Sonos support was very helpful.   There is another place you must enable Sonos.   “privacy and Security”- ‘Local Network”, you must enable Sonos.

Works now.
