I had to restart my router with factory settings. This produced a new network, so I can’t connect to Sonos system. Do I need to do any resetting of the Sonos units ?  And how do I create a new system ?

Sonos units:

  • 3x Sonos Play:1
  • 1x Sonos One SL

Here’e what I’ve been doing:using the Sonos IOS app (note only one Sonos Play:1 unit is powered on)

  • iPhone is on the new network.
  • Start app
  • Unable to find your system, Lets fix it
  • Did you change your router or network settings ? - Yes
  • Do you want to add a trusted network to Sonos ? - Yes
  • Find system
    • Finds Sonos unit - Select. Note this displays the Sonos One SL unit name and image ?  Why, mine is powered down ?
  • Hold down top button until amber flashing - I pressed button
  • Let’s connect mobile device to your Sonos One SL’s temp network: SONOS
  • “Sonos” wants to join WI-Fi network “SONOS” ? - Join
  • Unable to join network SONOS

Now I’m stuck

Assuming you have NOT factory reset anything:

  • Log into your new router. Set its SSID and password to be exactly the same as your old router.
  • Reboot your Sonos devices.

Thanks but unfortunately I didn’t know I could do that, it would have saved me a bunch of effort 🙄

Yes I have reset the Sonos app.

For anyone reading this thread: DO NOT RESET YOUR SPEAKERS EXCEPT AS A LAST RESORT - AT THE RECOMMENDATION OF SONOS SUPPORT! It will wipe all sorts of potentially useful data.
@GuyWills Glad it’s sorted!
