Speakers

I can connect my Play 5 with ethernet.  If I then remove the cable it connects to wireless.  however if I power cycle the play 5 it won’t connect to wireless.  Appreciate any assistance.

Probably a dumb/easy question but I couldn’t find the answer anywhere. Can I use any USB-C cable to charge the Roam? The one provided with it doesn’t quite fit with the silicone case I bought due to the way it’s angled.

Hello, as I just received my SONOS ROAM I have tried many times today to get it connected in Bluetooth by following the procedure as described in that link.https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4989?language=frSo I kept pressing the button at the back but the blue light never went on and as a consequence the product had been left undiscovered for my mobile phone.Is there anyone who encountered the same issue & what should I do to get it solve.Thanks for your help

Hello, I’m currently in a boarding school and had to hard reset my Sonos roam, as it was not working properly. Now I have the problem, that I can't set up my roam, as I don't know the password to the wifi because I only got access to it by installing a profile on my iPhone. Do you know any ways to solve my problem?Thanks for help

Hi all,I was so excited to receive my Sonos Roam this week. First Sonos product for me, but I love the brand and my interactions with other Sonos products in the past (friends, showrooms) have always been great.  Unfortunately, I sent my Roam back to Sonos for a refund. The problem? That power button at the back.  Everything else is excellent, sound, design, size, I love it. But the power button is a really poor implementation. There is no click whatsoever unless you press the button really strongly. I never knew if I was successful switching it on or off. If you press the button a bit on one side it just doesn’t work. It got on my nerves and I ended up sending it back.  I was thinking maybe I got a bad unit, but I have seen a few comments in Reddit which are consistent with my experience.  how is it working for you? I might go to a brick & mortar store to try one out. If I can confirm all units are the same I will have to wait until

I’ve had my Move for about a month, its the 1st Sonos product I’ve owned, coming from the world of headphones and Hifi. I am confused by the lack of detail around the functionality of the Move. There does not seem to be a proper manual as such, makes it hard to understand how it works. I use the move mostly in 2 rooms. The second room does not have a charging loop and I’m not near the device when its in use. After playing music and stopping, after around 30 min, it goes into a stand-by stage. 4 years ago I installed a playbase, woofer and 2 alexa-enabled Sonos Ones (1st gen) in my family room. Since in this configuration only one of the two sonos ones will respond to alexa, I think I will relocate one to my study and replace it in the family room with a speaker that is not voice-enabled. I have two questions: 1. what is the best choice of speaker to purchase to substitute the existing sonos one, and 2. Can I configure a single speaker in the study to play mono, or can it only be configured to play either left or right?TIA .... Greg

Is there a way to connect a Sonos Roam to 2 different WiFi systems?  I have one WiFi at home and one at my cabin.  I would like to be able to just take my roams up to the cabin and have them work there.

Hi All,Hoping some could help me. I haven't been able to find a concrete answer.I want to ‘stream’ vinyl from my turntable to my Apple HomePods. Not the Mini’s, but the large first gen HomePods. From what I can tell, they are Airplay 2 compatible. I have added the Sonos AMP into Homekit (Home app) on my iPhone.My current setup is: Phono/Line out from the turntable into my Sonos AMP. Considering the Sonos AMP is Airplay 2 compatible, along with my HomePods, I thought the Sonos App would find my HomePods. This however, doesn’t seem to be the case. Am I missing something, or is my logic of the Sonos AMP ‘seeing’ my HomePods something it cannot do?Any information would be very welcome!

Hi Something I found strange the other day. When my sonos Roam is connect to my wifi network I can use it with Google assistant to request song but when I leave my house I can't.. Seems strange to me that the mic operation is not transferred from the phone when connected over Bluetooth.. Or is it just me? 

My Sonos roam arrived the night before we went on holiday last week.  I am pleased with the flexibility of the wifi and bluetooth modes, but it soon became apparent after we got to our destination that the bluetooth device switching on the Roam is very poor.  We had 3 people in the house who paired to the speaker at various points to play their music choices, but when the next person came along, it was a great big faff / fuss to work out who’s phone or iPad was hogging the connection, and ask them to turn off their bluetooth in order to free up the roam to connect to the next person’s device.   We have a bose soundlink mini which allows you to cycle through the existing paired phones/devices and provides some oral feedback on each press “Connected to Michael’s iPhone” *press* “Connected to Michael’s iPad” *press* etc…   Can Sonos please consider something similar?     

I actually did not know that neither Roam or Move connects to the Sonosnet (but to the router’s WIFI directly), when I bought my Roam. Which is a bit sad, because I do have wired speakers scattered around the house, but only one router. Do you guys think they will ever enable this through a software update? Update: I totally see I forgot to mention sonosnet in the title, and it seems like I cannot edit that, or delete this post to redo it.. 

As stated in the title, I think the Sonos S1 devices (such as the Connect Amp, the Connect and the Playbar) are all connecting to the one and only Google Wifi router in the other room. I would like them to connect to Google Wifi AP that is in the same room as they are. I have everything working except this issue, all the units have a “weak connection” to the Wifi. It would be great if there is a way to make the Sonos units see the local AP.

Seems like there’s zero benefit from putting Roam into sleep mode instead of turning it off. Drains battery and does not offer the convenience of remote wake up from app. Then what’s the point of the sleep mode?

Anyone know what this week's system update addressed?  Is there somewhere that Sonos post update notes? 

I bought the Roam to use as an external speaker for the Xfinity app on my iPad.  I only want to use it in Bluetooth mode but, every time you turn on the Roam, it starts up in WiFi and you have to press and hold the power button to turn on BT.  Any way to have the Roam default to Bluetooth when you first turn it on or turn off WiFi connection permanently or something?   

I have read a few of the questions similar to my issue and tried a number of the recommended fixes, yet I cannot resolve my intermittent audio issues related exclusively to my “Line In” configuration, could use some brain muscle…  I have 10 devices linked to my Sonos system along with multiple audio sources from which to hear the sweet sounds of Sonos in pretty much every room of my home.  However, no matter where I access my “Line-In” source, I cannot solve this intermittent sound hiccup, going silent from a millisecond to a few seconds at most.  Guaranteed to happen on any average 3.5 minute song as an example, and would expect 3-4, maybe more of these quick but painful black outs in this example, but nothing consistent to be clear.  Here is the configuration for this source…  I create hiking/travel trail review videos as a hobby and spend probably too much time on my PC (Windows 10 OS).  I wanted a better audio sound than my PC speakers so I physically installed my Play 3 in the

Hi everyone,After some advice here.I recently had 2 Sonos in ceiling speakers installed and sold my 2 existing Sonos Ones being used as surrounds. This is something I’ve done many times now and I’ve always remembered to reset the Sonos before sending.For some reason I had a brain snap and have mailed these 2 speakers but forgotten to reset them (I only remembered afterwards). What is the best way to ensure my account details aren’t immediately available to the new owner? Is it best to reset all my passwords?I’m kicking myself on how stupid I was to forget this, but would appreciate any advice. Thanks
