When we use our Sonos, our wifi slows down. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I have a Sonos 3:1 setup (SUB+PLAYBAR) in my living room for watching TV. I want to expand that system to include surround... AND.... I also want to expand the system in the living room so that when I'm not watching TV, but listening to music, the sound in the living room will be big and full.... So...on the surface it seems like a single play-5 in the living room would make the living room rock...not caring about stereo. However, the Play-5 won't satisfy the surround add-on to the TV. So then I think two Play-1's or two Play-3's. Obviously the 3's are going to sound better, but it might be overkill, considering I already have the SUB and the PLAYBAR in the same room. What are your thoughts? Anyone think adding a couple of PLAY-1's to my existing SUB and PLAYBAR will come close to the sound of a single PLAY-5 in the same room for music, while giving me surround for TV? Any other suggestions about what you might want to do so the living room sounds awesome for music li
Here's an interesting podcast on Scientific American: https://www.scientificamerican.com/podcast/episode/human-ears-can-hear-better-than-cd-quality-just-barely/ Can better than CD quality music be streamed? What would be needed to make that happen with our current technology/equipment now? Mastering How should the music be mastered? SACD?, 24bit/96KHz (or higher) WAV?, other options? Possible equipment setup If I want to use headphones in this scenario I would imagine using a DAC like a Chord Mojo and a decent pair of earphones/headphones (Shure SE846) Sonos equipment setup I have a pair of Play:5 set up in stereo and I stream FLAC from Deezer Elite - sounds pretty much like a CD to me. Interestingly, according to this, Sonos supports audio files up to 16 bit and 44.1 kHz: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/80/kw/16bit/related/1 Just curious: Sonos, is that a software or hardware limit (or both)?
Great. I just excitedly received an email from Currys to use in store only, 15% off any Sonos product. That's a Sonos Sub for £549-15%=£466.65! However, there is a catch. There are no Sonos Subs available in any Currys store in the UK. Thanks, for nothing, Currys.
Guys I have tried to search high and wide and haven't really found a satisfactory reassurance that this specific LG model will pass 5.1 from all the HDMI sources to its optical out. Can anyone confirm that it can do this please???
I have a MacBook Air with Mac OS Sierra 10.0.2. I have installed the Sonos app on my laptop and successfully added all my desired music sources. Except one: While following the directions to a tee, I cannot add my iTunes music library. I get this error and no, the name of my computer is not over 18 characters. Can someone advise on what is going on and the steps to successfully do this?
I'm struggling adding 2 ceiling speakers powered with a ZP90 to my current system which is a 3:1 system using a playbar and 2 x play 1's. I've got the ZP90 wired to the playbar with an Ethernet cable but I can't set it as part of the system. I've tried removing the current surrounds and adding them again but it doesn't see the ZP90 speakers. Can anyone help?
My Play:3 has stopped powering on and I wondered if there are any internal fuses that may have blown with possible power surge? I've tried changing power cords, resetting using mute buttons, etc but still no power. Any suggestions?
A Sonos user would like to have a line in at the back of the PLAY:1. What do you think about it?
Good evening all, Firstly I'm new on here ( hello all ) so hope this is posted in the right section! I am not new to HiFi equipment or wireless speakers ( I have had a rather bad habit for the last 20 years ) and have had and sold more stuff than I care to think about, but I am new to Sonos, well until this weekend that is! I wanted to share the following with you as I cannot see anywhere on the forums or the net a Naim vs. Sonos comparison. Sunday afternoon, following a trip to my local John Lewis I returned home with a Play 5 Gen2 (£389) and the relatively new Naim Qu So QB (£595). I couldn't decide which one to go for and having any sort of meaningful demo was hopeless, Sonos Play 5 was connected to a Play 1, Play 3 and a Sonos soundbar which all seemed to playing at the same time on the Sonos stand, despite me trying to isolate the Play5 and even trying the line in option with the 3.5mm jack I brought with me as a last resort.( plus someone was streaming what sounded like
I have a PS4, Sky Q, sonos 3, two Sonos 1's , a Sonos playbar and Sony Bravia that's about 8 years old. At the moment I have the playbar connected to the sky Q box with an optical cable and an HDMI lead from sky box to TV. With this set up I can use the playbar to watch tv through sky. The TV does not have an optical out. My issue is trying to get the PS4 to run through the Sonos network. Can someone help?
I bought a Sonos 5 because the salesperson told me it had an AUX which would allow me to plug it into my MacBook Pro to play while composing in GarageBand. It does not appear to work. Any ideas?
If you have the full surround (playbar, sub, surrounds), which option do you typically chose when listening to music for the surrounds? Do you go full? Ambient? turn them off completely? Interested to hear what other prefer, thanks.
Hi all, Is there a way (or, can there be a way) to hear the music that is playing on the sonos system on your actual iPhone/controller device? Before you say "why would you want to do that?", I'll explain. I have numerous play:1's throughout the house, along with a connect on my entertainment system. I am a drummer and I occasionally play to a playlist that I've created in my phone (which is also my Sonos controller). Now, as you can assume, the drums are not a quiet instrument, so I wear headphones to play. If there was a capability to listen to the music on my iPhone (with headphones) and have it play throughout the house, my boys could hear that I am actually playing with a song, or, vice versa.
Hi, I have burned CDs onto my iTunes (which include album artwork) these albums artwork do not appear on my controller. The SONOS picks up the music from a NAS drive. Please advise. Many thanks Steve
"network connection speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer" is the full error message My library is NOT in the default location of my computer, which I think may be the culprit. I run windows 7 and Windows Media Player which are located on my solid state drive (C drive). My songs are stored in the E drive. This is a deal breaker, if there is no work-around.
I have a number fo Sonos Speakers, a number of Mac Laptops and a number of Android Cellphones (Nexus 5X, Huawei P8mini and many others). I have no iOS devices for reasons that I do not want to exlore at this junction. Are there plans to have Trueplay setup with Mac Laptops - MBA or MBP devices, specifically?
Does anyone have the same problem or only me? I am unable to fit my 3.5mm aux in cable into Play5 Gen 2 completely. the sound is terrible.
Unable to fit 3.5mm cable in
Can I use my Sonos AMP with two external speakers and use my Roland 700NX keyboard as the music source? I don't want to try until I get a good answer so I don't blow the AMP up. The Roland is very powerful and may need more WATTS in a larger AMP for instance.
Hi guys When will full Alexa compatibility be available?
I understand that the Sonos 5 Gen 2 can be hard-connected to external devices including a PC. I would like to do this occasionally for non-music audio. The Sonos has a 3.5mm Line-In port at the back. How do you connect the other end to the PC? Do I need to purchase a specific cable connection? For example, at the back of my PC I have six soundcard 3.5 mm port of different colours (black, yellow, green, orange, etc.
Hi Can anyone tell me if I buy a router that's supports a 1TB HDD been plugged into it will sonos recognise it? Thanks in advance
Hi, and I apologize if this question has been already addressed somewhere in the forums. I will soon be moving into a two bedroom condo, square footage of about 1100 sq. ft. I am thinking about making the jump to Sonos. I definitely want the Sub, but would it be overkill to get two Play 5's or would it be better to save some money and get two Play 3's? I plan to set up the speakers in stereo mode and put them in my living room. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi - Just got my first Play 1 and Bridge last week and am blown away by how good Sonos is. I will undoubtedly be adding to my system soon but wondered in advance whether I would be able to play 2 (or more) different Spotify playlists/tracks on different speakers? I am a Spotify Premium subscriber (if that makes a difference?). Thanks.
