My Play:3 has stopped powering on and I wondered if there are any internal fuses that may have blown with possible power surge?
I've tried changing power cords, resetting using mute buttons, etc but still no power.
Any suggestions?

Not that I'm aware of. I'd recommend you contact Sonos directly via telephone to discuss with them. Attempting to open it on your own will void any warranty, or likely chance for a discount on a replacement.
From memory, this one is more than a couple of years old, so will be out of warranty anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions about which components to check inside?

I understand that Sonos have a very fair replacement program for items past warranty. I'd highly recommend you reach out to them before you open anything.
