Speakers

Hi all. First time poster so be gentle with me. ;) I have an R1 and R3 speaker set up wirelessly to my router and I control them through the sonos app on my mobile. Everything has been working flawlessly for the past few months. This week however when listening to the radio it keeps cutting in and out. Streaming music from my mobile is fine. I have rebooted my router and the speakers. A speed test on my Internet connection comes in at 100+ Meg. My gut feeling is that the problem must be internet based. Just asking if anyone else out there has experienced a similar issue or if there is anything else you folks might suggest I try.

I want to pair my playbar with a speaker/s on an opposite wall (8m away). Essentially the purpose is to play music and fill the room with sound but also to watch TV and get sound coming from the front and back of the room. I'm not worried about a surround sound effect. Can I pair with a play3 or play5 ? Are there any disadvantages / problems with doing this? I know that play1's are probably the most appropriate solution but I'm keen to know if the 3 or 5 can work as well? Thank You

It would be interesting to inform you of the policy they use if your equipment is damaged: if it is within two years of warranty they will change it for the existing model at that time. If it is within two and three years the existing model will put it at 50% of the new cost, but as they get the new model with "improvements" and the price much higher, ie if you want to continue listening to a Sonos You have to spend like one you bought 2 and a half years ago. I'VE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE STRUCTURED APPLIANCES DO NOT FIX. Well, a very dodgy policy because if I have noticed that the programmed obsolescence is prevalent in Sonos. g'day all. i have bought the Sonance SLS LS47 SUB10 System system which comes with a Crown CDi 1000 Amp. I have connected the ZP90 to the balanced input (phoenix connector) from the unbalanced zp90 by cutting the RCA cable and connecting it as instructed by the manual (with jumper cables between the channels and ground). the amp deliver 500w per channel and is feeding 8 sat speakers and 1 sub (4 sat's on one channel + 4 sat's and the sub on the other channel). if the vol control on the amp is turned up more than 65-70% per channel, and i turn the vol control on the sonos over 80% the amp starts to clipp. my questions is, do the ZP90 deliver sufficient gain to this amp? or do i need another pre-amp between the amp and the ZP90? it makes no sense to me that an amp this powerful start to clipp this "early", thus im trying to find out if it could be the output signal from the zp90 which is too weak. any ideas?

Can i use 4 Sonos1's linked together?

Hi, I purchased a play:3 a couple of years ago and the rubber feet have come off. Is there anyway I can get replacement rubber feet?

Yesterday I noticed that some songs I'm sure I've played before on my Sonos have become greyed out and protected. These are all recent iTunes purchases, so shouldn't be affected by the pre-2009 DRM issue. Bizarrely, one album is half protected, half not. Is it a coincidence that I installed iOS8.4 yesterday and signed up to Apple Music free trial? Any suggestions (other than paying Apple more by signing up to iMatch?).

There are many posts and request for a portable or outside speaker on ask.sonos and others for a battery powered Play 1. The Play 1 is plugged in from the bottom with a very flush and tidy fitting power lead. This makes me think and others might agree that a battery pack could be developed that works like a drill battery and plugs into the bottom of the Play 1 - maybe the power lead could also plug into the bottom of the battery pack to recharge in situ so it is seamless in design and can be used whilst recharging or if battery power is low. I would opt for a lithium-ion polymer battery as: Excerpt from wikipedia “The result is a "plastic" cell, which theoretically could be thin, flexible, and manufactured in different shapes, without risk of electrolyte leakage.”

When using my Sonos playbar+play 1+play 1 as a surround mode, it's wonderful, and no lag at all in the sound and playback. I would love to have (hard or easy) access to change settings of my Play:1 (3/5) to give full volume when watching music videos or concerts at my TV, either trough Chromecast or on TV/cable/sat - in TV mode in sonos app. I haven't found an easy way to do this, but disconnecting my two Play:1's as sperate players, bonded as a group.

Hey all. Just want to do a quick intro and comments. I'm new to the Sonos world and wireless audio in general. Had been pretty avid audiophile some years ago and decided to look into some more affordable solutions and getting back into the music/home theater world. Really didn't want to venture back into the ultra "high end" market due to other financial obligations, but still wanted to have ability to purchase superior mid level products. I can honestly say that I am quite impressed with the Sonos product and ease of use. I've had the products for a couple weeks now and I'm completely satisfied. Well, with one exception......I need more product. Anyway, I look forward to diving into this Sonos community. Thanks. Oh I currently have Playbase, Sub, and (4) Play 1's.

I'm new to SONOS. My goal was is to fill my house with area music. While we may use the SONOS for other things as well ... mostly they would be on during waking hours and always playing some kind of background type music. To get the vibe I want, I thought I would need 3 sets of SONOS Play1 ... 6 in total. Living Room / Entry ... Bedroom1, Bedroom2, GuestBath, Kitchen, and Office. My concern is can I (or is this even possible) do the following: - Group LivingRoom / Entry / Kitchen (3 speakers) together to play the same track - Have Both Bedroom2 with its own music - Have Bedroom 1 with its own music - Have Office with same music as Bedroom 2 or its own music - Have GuestBath with its own music Also ... I own most if not all of the music I would want to play. I have a computer with this music on it. Before I go all in and spend lots of $$$ is any of this possible? Thanks in advance SONOS gurus!

See the sub placement adjustment on the iPad controller (on or off). What do the on and off settings do?

I have a Bar, Sub and 2 Play 3s configured together. I've tried using the Sonos network ("WM:0") as well as my wi-fi network. I've tried changing the wireless channel. All to no avail, so at this point, I'm not sure what to try next. The drops happen intermittently with no real pattern and last about 10 seconds. The surround speakers re-join without any action from me. Thank you in advance for any feedback or suggestions!

I am looking to connect wireless satellite speakers in multiple (2 or 3) additional locations in my house. My current system is a Technics surround amp with 5 channel Bose speakers and a subwoofer (not wireless). I have wiFi in the house. Can I get a device that will connect to this amp and generate a wireless signal to wireless speakers? It seems to me there are two places on my amp to which I could connect such a device: 1) the "record out" jacks (which of course is a non-amplified signal, or, 2) the headphone jack which is an amplified signal. is this what your "Connect" product does? Please advise what my options are

Do the play 5's (second gen) offer a higher quality surround sound experience than the play 1,s? I currently have the play 1's in a fairly large room and they're ....eh, ok but I was curious nonetheless. For music, the play 1's are more than enough with the sound bar and Sub, but I feel the surround can or should offer more. Thanks

Hi fellows, just to check: is the PlayBar & Play:1s unable to connect via 802.11n on the 2.4GHz frequency? I'd read from somewhere that the newer SONOS series of equipment is able to even make use of 802.11ac; so at "the minimum", I was expecting it to hook onto my 2.4GHz 'n' network...? From my wireless access point management page, I always see the PlayBar & Play1:s using 802.11g "only".

Hi Am I correct in thinking the Sonos play 1 will not work on 802.11n via 2.4ghz? Reason I ask is I was about to change a setting in my Asus router on the 2.4ghz band to use N speeds only and lose the b/g. Currently its set to mixed so it supports all bands on 2.4ghz but most of my devices can do 802.11n. Only Im having a few router related issues and changing it to n only was suggested as a fix but Ive got a strange feeling that in the year 2016 the Sonos play 1 will restrict me from doing this! I am thinking about purchasing the new Google home voice recognition product, I understand that Sonos will work with Amazons echo in the near future. Does Sonos have any information regarding google home integration?

I have a TV sound bar and play 1 speaker. Both items were added to the Sonos system and are activated however I am unable to group them. I have Living room 1 and Room 2. When I go to either of the rooms in rooms menu it is not giving me the "group" option. I tried several times. Any ideas how to fix this problem? I have no clue why "grouping" option is not coming up in either of the rooms settings. Any help will be appreciated! Paul

Hi all, I've just bought a pair of Sonos Play:1 to join my growing family of Sonos products and I'm moving into a new house so while I'm doing first fix I'd like to look at some neat ways to mount and cable these speakers on the wall. I'd like to avoid seeing cables or plugs, but I dont see any creative solutions out there apart from just taking the standard power cable down through the wall to a remote socket. Hard-wiring into the wall is an option, but by the time you've got a cover plate it's going to look a little unsightly. Anyone got any creative or neat solutions? Thanks, Tom

Hi all, hoping to clear up something. I have two Play 5s that work fine with streaming. I'm trying to connect my record player; http://musichallaudio.com/music-hall-mmf-2-2le-turntable/ and pre amp https://www.amazon.com/TC-750LC-BLACK-Professional-Moving-Magnet/dp/B000A36XZS I was sure I read elsewhere on this site that the set up would only require a y line out to one of the paired speakers, but this only gives me sound through one speaker. Also, if I wanted to cut down on wires and have the speakers a little further apart, would the Sonos connect do the job? I also have the bridge located in the house for use when streaming music. Not sure if this is relevant to this topic. Thanks in advance.

Hello all, Since line-in is not available for PLAY:1s (gosh) : 1) Can I easily connect 2 PLAY:5s to the same single desktop computer ? My sound card only has one audio output, can i use something like this : https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41nKGYhcmQL.jpg ? 2) After the connection is done, how do I enable stereo ? 3) I plan to use the speakers for music, gaming and video. Should I expect a lag in sound rendering, even if the connection is wired ? Thanks everyone

Hi there. Just got my Play 5 and want to hook it up to my Denon DP-300F turntable. No other components. I have a bunch of Play 1s in the house. That's it. Was told that I didn't need any other hardware which seemed strange. Any help would be appreciated.

I just moved into a new apartment, and my subwoofer is not consistently working. It is a two floor apartment, and I'm considering the boost but I lived in a home with two floors previously and it worked fine. When I go into room settings it shows as a question mark. I ran a diagnostic; here is the number 7529673 - can someone please assist?
