I have a Denon DP-200USB turntable which has an internal amp and I have 2xPlay:1 speakers and a Connect. How do I configure this to work?
I just bought the sonos one and when I first set it up and used it saying “Alexa play radio “ she played the radio saying “Alexa play pinks new album” she streamed it but now all I get it “something went wrong” I have reset to factory settings and reloaded the apps and set the system up again but now all she will say is “something has gone wrong” oh except if I had how the weather is then she will tell me !!!!!!! What to do to fix?
Why have you not designed the new Sonos One to fit the same wall brackets as the existing Play 1? This means I have to buy (and mount) a new bracket. More expense, plus at the moment nothing is even available!
A lot of posts here ask about a way of playing from computer/phone to Sonos, or using it as PA. One solution, is using "SWYH" from computer, which is working - but has 2 seconds latency. I found an Android application, that can send with 0.2s latency. Download "AirAudio". By default it has the regular 2 seconds latency. Go to "Settings", "SONOS", "Audio format" -> WAV. Now you can change the "Audio delay". With trial and error, I reduced it to 0.2s and it's working great. In other environments it might be slightly other value. Now, the questions is - how do they do it? And can we repeat that success in a computer program?
I would like to know if it is possible to connect direct with Bluetooth iPhone to Sonos play 1 Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below.A complete list of products that support Bluetooth can be found here: Use Bluetooth on Sonos
Let me first start by saying I love all of my Sonos products and they have been a dream come true in every aspect. Until now this seems like an obvious thing why on earth would I want to replace both of my Play 1's with Alexa speakers who needs 2 Alexa speakers within 15ft of each other? When I saw this i thought it would be the coolest thing ever my surround is in the main living room at my house where my family spends most of their time just swap a rear and i get an extra Play 1 for somewhere else in the house as well as the new Sonos ONE / Alexa speaker for the most used room in the home. However this can't be done am I the only one who thinks this is a bonehead idea? If you replace both rears with ONE's than you have 2 Alexa capable speakers in the same room and if you just buy the ONE and don't use it for a rear than it is literally just an Alexa with a Sonos sticker on it right? Please tell me Sonos knows about this and is trying to fix it.
Is the One stand the same as a Flexon stand for the One Play? I’m trying to buy one for my One.
Been waiting to hear news about when this will happen and am starting to think it never will. I have Sonos and Alexa in every room. I did this with the assurance that Sonos and Alexa are going to work together. There has been next to no news regarding integration for the past 6 months.... When can we expect to hear about Sonos and Alexa integration? Is it still happening? Please any update would be appreciated.
Hi, Anyone know if you can get Sonos Play 5 replacement covers/grilles? I have a few dents in mine. Haven't been able to locate any. Thanks, Jon
Now that the new Sonos 1 is on the market, I was wondering if the this new product will be considered an upgrade of the Play: 1 and therefore Sonos will no longer continue to update the Play:1 in the future. I know that this happens with hardware and applications made by other manufacturers; so why not Sonos? I asked myself. My reason for asking is: I am considering extending my Sonos system, and to be quite frank, I’m not that interested in Alexa, so my preferred option is to continue purchasing and using Play:1. However, if there are plans that Play:1 will become 'obselete' obviously I would like to know before committing myself to buying more Play:1's Thanks. Peter
First off I know it's down the road a few months but I was curious if an insider or someone who frequents these forums might know a bit. I am stoked for the One coming out tomorrow - price point and features are what I have been waiting for. Unfortunately I am team Google and could care less about Alexa integration. I am interested in pulling the trigger on 3 One speakers in the coming days but I was hoping to grab a bit of info on the integration first. I was hoping someone knew if the the integration with Google would go as far as me being able to treat the speakers as essentially Chromecast Audio devices, or would it be purely interacting with the assistant? Like I know Sonos wants me to use their app and all, which I have used at family and friends houses, but If the speaker is running the assistant it doesn't seem to far of a stretch to think the speaker would show up in some fashion in the Google Home App? I feel kind of sketchy about purchasing a product based on promis
Hi I have an issue with my sonos play 5. It was purchased on January 24th 2015. After the last update it never turned back on. I have tried on the power cord of my playbar and my sonos play 1 and held down the mute button reset but still not working and no lights have come on at all. Any help advise or suggestions greatly appreciated.
I would like to put a Play-5 in room #1, and another Play-5 in room #2. Room #1 has a CD player and Room #2 has a TV with an analog line output. Physically, I can plug the CD player into the line in of Play-5 #1 and I can plug the TV into the line in of Play-5 #2. If I do that, is there a way the system will let me select something like "Line-in from room #1" or "Line-in from room #2"?
So, elektrowelt sells play1 and play5 zoneplayers. The main differences between these? They have a price difference of 350€. And can you connect a cd player to a play1 zoneplayer eg does it have a line-in option? So that you have a play 1 zoneplayer and 2 regular play1 speakers, do you get them to all play the same source from the CD player?
How to get no Latency from the dj mixer and through Play 5 Line-in. I have changed the compression setting to uncompresses but theres still a slight lag.
I have a fairly large home where the Wifi signal significantly weakens on one side of the house. To alleviate this I have set up access points in my home that do not use the same SSID for reasons beyond this conversation. I want to set up Sonos speakers all throughout my home, however I would need to be able to connect my speakers on the far side of my home to an access point with a different SSID in order to work properly. Placing a Boost centrally in the home is not an option due to the design. Request: Allow Sonos speaker to connect to Access points that broadcast different SSIDs on different channels. Thanks
Hello I'm moving from the UK to the US and want to take my Play 1s. I imagine I can just use a converter plug but I wanted to know whether I could buy US power cable for a Play 1 to avoid having to use a converter? Also, will the Play 1s work in the States? I read a few older posts on here that hinted at the technology being slightly different to avoid people buying cheaper versions abroad? Any help or advice much appreciated. Thanks Ed
I have 5 Sonos devices on my account. My ex took 2. How do I remove them from the account. I don't want to have them linked.
I have 3 Play:1's and I'd like to buy a Sonos One but won't unless they are made to be compatible. I think making them compatible will make current Sonos 1, 3, 5 users buy the Sonos One. Has it been determined yet if they'll be made compatible?
Ultimate Ears just came out with their new MegaBlast its a Portable Wift/Bluetooth speaker with alexa and has a Power Doc accessory for use when inside. 16 hour battery life. The wifi lets the device stream with out your phone and lets you use alexa to request songs, pause, play forward etc.. When your done using it in your back yard you bring it in and plop it on the doc where it charges and can be used as one of your indoor speakers. This is what Sono's should have added to the Play One (or they should make a new one for $299 called Play one portable)
Hallo all, since you wont stop with the SONOS: ONE i would like to ask if there is a roadmap for the integration of microphones into all SONOS speakers. The reason for the questions is I would like to buy a Play 5 because i would like to have the ability of connecting my pc with the aux line in to be able to hear system sounds. The problem with that is that is that in the current iteration of the play 5 i would have to buy another Alexa Dot but then I would buy two devices which will in future probably be one. On the other hand it is unsure if the Airplay2 integration gets all old devices so I want to be sure that when i spend so much money on a speaker to be sure it fits all my needs and is the newest iteration. Greetings
Is it possible to hook my sonos play 5 to my Sony Bravia television? Just wondering.
I know that questions about how to connect digital projectors with Sonos components have been asked over and over, and I understand that a Playbar or Playbase connected via an optical cable is the centerpiece of a home theater experience. I am looking for something simpler and more portable, using an Epson Home Cinema 2150. I have several Play:5's, Connect's, and Connect:Amp's at my disposal. Is there a way to set up this projector WIRELESSLY with 1. a stereo pair of Play:5's (paired as a "zone") or 2. a pair of non-Sonos speakers connected to a Connect:Amp? I know I'm not getting anything resembling home theater sound, I just would like WIRELESS sound louder than what comes out of the projector speaker, ideally using Sonos components -- but am not interested in wiring up a Playbar/Playbase. I'll be grateful for any ideas you can share. Thank you!!!
How long is the Play:1 power cord?
I bought a used sub on eBay. Other than my ears is there a test I could run to confirm if it functions to its best? Thanks
