Is it possible to connect iPhone using Bluetooth to sonos play 1

I would like to know if it is possible to connect direct with Bluetooth iPhone to Sonos play 1

Hi CJDBerridge,

No the SONOS system is based on WIFI protocol. 
It is possible to stream music stored on an iPhone to a Sonos PLAY:1, but must be connected to your routers wireless network.

This is very disappointing as the sonos software is so limited compared to iTunes or Spotify.

Since your using iTunes I assume you have apple device. There is a piece of server software called airsonos that if you leave running on your home computer will enable AirPlay to your sonos speakers.

Not sure if it is even viable today. Apple tends to change their copy protection to foil unauthorized hacks like this that circumvent their DRM.
