Our Sonos system is hardwired throughout our house. Is there a way to add a bluetooth speaker so I can enjoy in my garage as well?

If you wanted to add a Bluetooth broadcast device to your Sonos system, you would need to connect it to the headphone jack on a PLAY:5 gen 1, or a CONNECT or CONNECT:AMP.
Although for me, I'm giving some consideration to just dropping a PLAY:1 or Sonos One in the garage, there's enough of a signal from SonosNet in order for it to work fine.

Hmm, that seems expensive...Can't it somehow work through our receiver that "should" have bluetooth ability?
Sonos does not have Bluetooth and works solely from wifi.
Not sure what you mean here. You have a receiver that can send audio to a Bluetooth speaker? If that's the case, then you can get a CONNECT that will input audio to your receiver.
I agree with Bruce though. If you don't already own the hardware to make it work available, you're better off cost wise and performance wise purchasing a PLAY:1 then getting connected audio out of a Bluetooth speaker.
You have a receiver of some type that has Bluetooth? If so, and you have a CONNECT attached to the receiver, then you could send the Sonos signal to the receiver, and have the receiver push the sound out as Bluetooth to your speaker, assuming that it's within range.
