Speakers

All afternoon my Sonos has been skipping half way through tracks and then just stopping. Seems to happen if I stream from my phone or from Spotify. My diagnostic number is 7314948.

I saw that both One and Play:1 have the same price. They seem quite similar, except that One has voice control. Is there any advantage for Play:1 over One? If not, why are Sonos selling two almost-identical products, with the same price? I'd have expected the Play:1 to be cheaper, or even to be obsoleted, and be completely replace by the One. What am I missing here?

Can somebody explain the difference in terms of output/quality of sound, etc? I understand that Sonos One has Alexa included but if that is the only difference why are they the same price? I ask this as I was thinking of purchasing a stereo pair for another room. I have an old Connect and Play 5 at the moment and I am still using the old Sonos Controler.

I am unable to browse music with spotify on my sonos.  Tried the usual reset actions: reset modem connection, reset bridge, remove and re-authorize spotify account. Nothing helps. In the past resetting would make a difference. Actually quite amazed how unstable the sonos / spotify integration is. Please how a look at my issue. Diagnostic support ticket: 3910512

Could the speakers be powered by an POE injector? Im wiring my house with Ethernet cable and it would be cool if these speakers could do that

Purchased Sonos system (playbar, sub, amp, boost) but purchased independent B&W rear speakers for surround. I was told that for surround to work I would only need to connect amp via cat 5 to router however the instructions sent me tell me to: Wire both the PLAYBAR and CONNECT:AMP to either your router, a single network switch, or to each other, using an Ethernet cable. Attach desired speakers to the CONNECT:AMP. Power rating should be at least 75W for 8 ohm speakers and at least 150W for 4 ohm speakers. Position the speaker connected to the Left terminal on the CONNECT:AMP as the left surround speaker in your surround sound setup. Position the speaker connected to the Right terminal on the CONNECT:AMP as the right surround speaker in your surround sound setup. Locate the IP address for your PLAYBAR - not the CONNECT:AMP. I have a play bar connected in my lounge room with TV and multiple sources connected. If I have it set to TV after about 15 minutes of no input to TV it switches to Music.  It also seems to default to Music.  How can I get it to default to TV.  We use the TV 90% of the time in the lounge room and this is frustrating.

Hi there im not that great with tech ive had sonos play 3 for a few months now and have been listening to spotify through it but since friday night i cant connect when pressing nearby devices am i being daft or is there maybe something im missing .thanks for any help

I am living in Switzerland/Europe but I bought certain products in the US. If I enter http://:1400/region.htm then the first thing that shows up is "USA/Canada" and not "EU". If I push on submit I receiver the error 403. There is a password field. But I do not have any password to do such change. What do I need to do to have the right region? By the way my account is set on Switzerland! My diagnose-info ticket that I just made is 8153890.

The reason i pose this question is for the time being the Sonos has held its price quite well and with the array of Sonos products I have acquired I am starting to doubt Sonos just a bit. With Dolby Atmos Currently gaining a lot of ground and no announcement from Sonos I am honestly thinking of making the switch. I love the the forward thinking attitude that Sonos had when it launched, it was 'revolutionary.' However, recently I do not see it. All the new products are meh, and I need to be WOWed . I see myself going into my man cave and enjoying my old Bose Jewel speakers more these days, sure that room would sound great with the Sonos 5.1, but in such a small space the 7.2 immersion with DTS is awesome. Honestly I am thinking of taking my sonos gear and selling it all and going with a DolbyAtmos system in my living room. Everything was fine, prompted on my Mac to update the Sonos app, didn't realise it was going to update (or trash) everything.  Allowed the update to happen, it seemed to go OK, until we then tried to connect to the system with our phones.  All connections had gone, couldn't even see the Sonos network, even though it was playing music at the time. Had to reset everything and start again, even down to reconnecting music services and all favourites.  Very inconvenient, not happy!

I spent two and a half months trying to get this speaker to work. It has been replaced with a Bose bluetooth speaker.

New user here. I saw some people recommend the audio-technica lp60 or 120 for use with Sonos Play 5 due to the built-in pre-amp. We bought both, but are missing some type of cord or adapter in order to connect the 2. Advice?

I had a play 1 and thought I would buy a new sonos one for a different room. Everything I read suggested that the sound was very similar but now I have the one I am a little disappointed. The balance just not seem to be as good as the play 1 so I tried them in the same room to check it wasn’t a room thing but still the same. In some ways they are very similar; however, the one’s slightly more bassy (actually bass is probably slightly better than the play 1) and this shift in balance seems to take away from the sound I really liked in the play 1. The one is maybe more scooped in the mids? Any one else noticed something similar?

Googling the question of whether to orient the Sonos 5 vertically with the tweeters in or out, the only responses I found suggested putting the tweeter on the inside. However, looking at the orientation of the Sonos logo, it is upside down in that orientation. This would seem that Sonos thinks that the tweeters should be on the outside rather than inside. Any thoughts? Also, I read that one tweeter is active in the vertical but all three woofers are active - presumably the tweeter can output much more decibels (volume) than the woofers can so that one is sufficient but for horizontal they have 3 tweeters for the sake of dispersion....? Love to hear thoughts on that too. Thanks.

I live on the 8th floor of a 12-story condo building and want to use my Sonos for a party on the roof where there's absolutely no Internet connection. Will I have to purchase a separate wireless hotspot device to be able to set my Sonos up there? Or is there a way I can play music on my Sonos without an Internet connection at all? (I can bring my bridge and my laptop, too.) I rely on Spotify for my music as well -- not sure if that makes a difference in whether I'll be able to play songs without Internet connection. EDIT! So I found this thread on the line-in configuration (https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1271)... except I don't have an option to select "Line In" under my Settings! There's no line in tab or autoplay menu that I can find at all... help?!

Found several older threads but not exactly what I'm looking for. I have a new Sonos system working perfectly in my family room but I want to occasionally move 2 or more speakers into another room. I tried moving my 2 sonos ones into another room, waited until the lights stopped blinking and called for Alexa. Says "Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding, try again later". Later doesn't help. If I use the app to play music, the system in my family room plays but not the moved sonos ones. If I move them back into the family room, they work normally, Alexa works, plays music. What has to be done to move the sonos ones and have them play in another room? Wifi's fine btw. System consists of a Playbar, Sub and 2 Ones (adding a Play 5 soon).

I have iPhone 8 I use a iPop wireless bluetooth speaker. Can I connect it to my sonos system? If so, how?

My new Sonos ONE is unable to playback any music from my network source Music Library \\server\music. I already had a Playbar and that still works fine with the same Music Library. Interestingly, if I first start playing on the Playbar, and later add the Sonos ONE as an output, the ONE will also start playing fine from the network source! However, if starting out with just the ONE, or starting with both Playbar and ONE at the same time, it doesn't work. This is very repeatable. Anyone else having the same issue? Any ideas about a resolution? Or is it just one of many ONE bugs?

Hi all, My question is fairly simply. Can I play the sound from my ipad to my play 1 setup when watching movies or other content? If not, I will return them to Sonos as this was the purpurse for which I bought these speakers. Thanks in advance! /Linnet

Hi, My Harmon Kardon speakers which I use in my study attached to my iMac went pop this week. So I was thinking of starting a move to Sonos, starting with my study and moving to the rest of the house when I can afford it. If you were choosing, would you go for Two Play 3's for true stereo or One Play 5? At the moment its for playing from iTunes as I don't bother with streaming as yet. Your help is appreciated, it might save me spending even more hours reading reviews. Mark

Total amateur AV person... wife bought me a Sonos 5 and trying to connect it to Samsung Smart TV. TV is on the wall, but has HDMi cables running through the wall, and not keen to add new cables to the TV due to the look (cannot run anythign else through the well). Given this, can I connect the Sonos 5 to the TV via an HDMi cable with a converter/switch? How is this done? Thanks for any insights!

I have a brand new TV - Sony - underneath is a olaybar connect via optical cable. In the same room I have 2 x play 5 and sub woofer. However when I watch anything on tv I only hear sound via the playbar and nothing else. Most annoying as I haven't a clue how to set up. As no clear guidance. Please can some one assist as I wish to use wireless system and not hard wire in all the speakers Any help gratefully received Thank you

Power over Ethernet is great for lower powered equipment installed in remote locations. Perfect for IP cameras, WiFi hotspots, etc but I got to thinking, couldn't a Play 1 POE be made? The current standard "802.11at" POE+ currently supports 25.5W of power which I believe is enough to power a Play 1 even at full volume? Whilst a POE version wouldn't appeal to everyone, the same body could be used but in removing the AC/DC converter it could be made lighter and potentially cheaper? I have ethernet running all around my home and could make great use of POE Play 1, there are a few places I'd love to put some Play 1 but it would mean running ugly power leads or paying a high premium for an electrician to run hidden power cabling to new ugly sockets. The benefit of CAT 5  is that pretty much anybody can buy and install it and since POE is low voltage most countries don't require a qualified electrician to install.
