returning Sonos speakers to Best Buy
If I ordered my speakers direct from Sonos, can I return them at an authorized retailer like Best Buy, and avoid having to ship them?

I don't think so, but fyi Sonos provides a free return label so it is fairly painless.

+21Usually when you purchase an item, it needs to be returned to the retailer you purchased from. For retailers like Best Buy, you may be able to return items purchased from their website to their retail store (assuming they were the seller; Best Buy's site does "marketplace" selling too), but you can't return an item purchased from one retailer (like Sonos in this case) to another (Best Buy).
The S in IOT stands for Security.
