On Beam Gen 2 (which is set up with Sub Mini and 2 x Play:1 surrounds), when I ask Alexa to “Play 6 Music”, halfway during the response “Now Playing BBC 6 Music” the volume increases and the station music sounds much louder than I want it.Does anyone else get this and what can I do to stop it happening. It really is ridiculously loud when the volume increases.
The title says it all. Many other apps show the position within the file (timestamp) in a large font in the center of the screen while you are scrubbing (dragging the position slider). The reason this is needed is often you will want to drag to skip the first three minutes of a podcast, but your thumb blocks the time stamp.
I am at a loss trying to find information. Any help would be appreciated. I have a multiple Sonos products in my house (no group set-up FYI), and I also have multiple Echo Dot speakers. Alexa works on all devices both Sonos and Alexa Echo Dots. There is one skill imparticular that is not working over the last month is Sleep Jar through Voice Commands on Sonos products, but does work on Echo products? When I give the voice command to play or launch a particular sound on any Sonos device - the response I get is “Having Trouble accessing skill”. This particular skill is linked in my Alexa app settings. Since it works on Echo devices no problem - my thought is this is a Sonos issue and I downloaded the latest upgrade. Is advice on how to fix -- my only work around has been to Airplay on the Sonos speakers, but only my phone to access not voice.
i updated my MacOS app this morning and it stopped connecting to my Sonos system. My android phone app, my Wifi and Sonos speakers were working just fine so the problem had to be on the Mac itself. Here’s a fix that sorted it - had to resort to Gemini to find this. Am putting it down here for the rest of communityThis is a very common headache with macOS 15. Because your Android app connects without a problem, we know your Sonos speakers and Wi-Fi network are working perfectly. The issue is entirely isolated to how your MacBook Air is managing network permissions for the desktop app. Here are the steps to fix it, ordered from the most likely culprit to the most thorough:1. Toggle the "Local Network" Permission (The Most Common Fix)macOS has a strict security feature that blocks apps from communicating with devices on your local Wi-Fi. Even if the permission toggle looks like it's already enabled, macOS updates notoriously cause this setting to "silently fail." You usually just have to wa
Hi all, I currently own the Sonos Arc Ultra and I am looking to add rears and sub to my living room set up.I mainly watch Anime, Netflix original series and amazon prime movies. I will play music occasionally. For the rears, I am torn between the Era 100s and 300s as my room layout is asymmetrical (one side is closer to the wall and the other leads to the hallway and rest of the house). My sofa is against the wall as well because my living room is small. For the sub, I am torn between the Sub 4 and the Sub mini.Assuming budget is not a concern, which set-up would give me the best audio experience (clear sounds and dialogue etc)? Appreciate your thoughts and input! Planned position and floor plan belowRears - redSub - blueArc Ultra - black(TV and Sofa position cannot be swapped, my ceiling has cove lightings and a fan too)
I'd like to know what the result is of the communities multiple requests for Home Assistant Voice integration, is it in the planning or denied?. @Sotiris C. @Corry P I would readily jump away from google assistant if Home Assistant was supported on Sonos. Just being able to use existing hardware i already have in my home with home assistant and a local llm is a game changer. People want their privacy Sonos. The only reason i dont use Sonos Voice Control is due to it not having access to my lights/home it only controls the sonos environment, This is such a huge limitation. Sure there is a niche amount of users using home assistant.. which is only because we first had google assistant & Google Home… but that is going to change.. google is pushing its llm which i can personally say i dont want. Stick it to em enable home assistant and let the users enjoy sonos again.
I think it would be great if Sonos made a proper PC soundbar with multi noise cancelling microphones. There is the Sonos Ray but this is really not a proper PC soundbar as it only has an optical-in and no way to sync PC audio. My ideal Sonos PC soundbar would be:Max 40cm wide as it needs to fit easily under any monitor Have speakerphone capability with multi-noise canceling microphones Have physical or haptic buttons on the top (vol +/-, mute, play/pause) No LEDs or the ability to turn off any LEDs Have only one input cable (USB-C for power and audio, the soundbar should have a built -in sound card and the power supply would allow pass-through data, this should allow just one connection at the back). If Sonos built this I would buy it in a second as good PC soundbars with microphones do not exist and especially now that WFH is a thing, I believe this would sell incredibly well.
Please can anyone give advice on how to share music from my iPhone with the Sonos app? I’m having difficulty understanding what I need to do and how to do it.
Hi everyone,I’m looking for some feedback from the community to confirm my future Sonos setup in my open-space living room. Please find the detailed layout attached (image_3.png).Here is my current layout on the plan:Top: My sofa facing the bottom wall.Bottom center: The TV stand and television.Left (near the window): My desk area and office chair.Yellow Dots: I have marked yellow dots on the plan to show the exact locations of my available power outlets. My needs:1 Home Cinema: Getting a great immersive experience when sitting on the sofa watching TV.2 Desk Area: I listen to streaming radio all day long while working at my desk. The hardware I selected:I'm planning to get the following setup: 1x Sonos Beam (Gen 2) under the TV, 1x Sonos Sub Mini for the bass, and 2x Sonos Era 100 as rear surrounds on each side of the sofa (which means the left surround speaker will be right next to my desk). My questions to confirm this setup:1 Radio Management at the Desk: Can you confirm that the Sonos
Hi everyone, Apologies if this has been answered somewhere already. I’ve read a bunch of related posts and feel like I’m still not sure if what I’m hoping for is possible (or if my idea is the best solution). I have an existing surround sound setup with my tv - Beam connected to tv via HDMI cable, which is then grouped to two Era 100s. I am hoping to add my turntable (with built-in phono preamp) into the mix to play out of those 3 speakers (and a separate Sonos One in my bedroom) without adding any more speakers. It seems like that should be possible by connecting a Port to the turntable. But will I be able to use the Beam and 2 Era 100s for both listening to music on the turntable, and for watching tv (not at the same time)? Some posts have brought up latency issues/tv audio no longer lining up with the picture. But will that happen if the tv isn’t connected to Port, though the Beam and Era 100s would be? Can I even pull off this setup, essentially having two separate sources (the t
Hello everyone, My family currently using alexa to voice control our music that is hosted through plex on our local plex ubuntu server, though unfortunately we are loosing that feature in a couple days and I have been experimenting with sonos and SVC to try and find a alternate. I have done a bit of creeping and have seen many post referencing that you can convert your plex music or use your local library to make sonos playlist that then can be used to play music through SVC. I have had limited luck getting things working by following these forum posts and was wondering if something has changed? My system is set up with a shared drive over my network with Samba. I did have to open up my connection to SMB2 - 3 which was originally shared with just SMB3 for my plex server to get Sonos to link with my music library in the sonos app. Though I got it all up and running and everything works perfectly in the android app except voice control. My problem is when I try and make sonos playlist
When using the Sonos app on ios i have been unable to add imported playlists to the queue. I can add individual tracks from an imported playlist, and i can add all tracks from an artist, album etc. it’s just imported playlists. I can however add imported playlists via the web app and the app on Windows and OSX. The imported playlists are part of an xml file exported from Apple Music. I know I have previously been able to do this. Any thoughts?
The Sonos app on an Amazon Fire tablet running Fire OS version 7 has limited capabilities. When you open the Sonos app you get the comforting message “App features are limited … Update your mobile devices OS to access all app features”. (Playback is still supported, so that is great!) This is in spite of the fact that Sonos Support appears to indicate that Fire OS 7 is, in fact, a supported OS (https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/sonos-app-requirements). Does anyone know if the Sonos app is FULLY supported on Fire OS 8? Wondering if a new Fire tablet is in order (if OS 8 is supported) or if I need to move to a different product line entirely for my tablets.
I ended up with my Era-300s sitting behind an inch high trim piece, didn't hurt the sound but didn't look great. As the stands here would be out of sight appearance wasn't a big problem, short, sturdy and a solid mount were though.Looked at a number on Amazon and picked inexpensive ones, pretty quick delivery from Nancheng, CN but they are very well made and attractive. Several similar ones are available at varying prices and delivery speed. The ones I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FW7Y29ZKConsidered: (Comments are for my space)Look similar, cost more: https://www.amazon.com/HeyMoonTong-Acrylic-Table-Wireless-Speaker/dp/B0C4HJ3P95/ref=sr_1_4Nice but too tall: https://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Desktop-Speaker-Compatible-Decorations/dp/B0CJRKKBC3/ref=sr_1_3Too short: https://www.amazon.com/lmrwTO-Desktop-Speaker-Compatible-Management/dp/B0GYRJL4Q6/ref=sr_1_5_sspaNice, screw mounts too:https://www.amazon.com/Flexson-Stand-Sonos-Black-Single/dp/B0D2RXKGBC/ref=sr_1_8 Not what I was lookin

Merci beaucoup ! Moderator Note: Translation by Google Translate- Hello—a quick call for help! :)I’m a complete beginner when it comes to this stuff...For my living room (approx. 30 m²), I’d like to get the Arc soundbar, paired with two Era 100 speakers placed behind my sofa. (I’ll be using this solely for movies and TV series, just occasionally.) Would that be more than enough? I’m really torn about whether or not to get the subwoofer, so I’d love to hear some opinions on that.Additiona
Good morning, everyone.I’m hoping to get some insight from the group regarding Atmos soundbars. Specifically, how much the driver firing angles actually impact real‑world Atmos performance in a built‑in entertainment center. Quick backstory: My wife wanted a renovation that involved removing a window and building a full wall entertainment center. I wasn’t exactly thrilled, but we compromised. She got me to build her entertainment center, and I get to upgrade my classic entertainment setup. current Sonos setup: Playbar, One SLs, and a Gen 1 Sub.With the new entertainment center came the “need” for a new TV, so we installed a 75” Sony Bravia 9 to replace the old 950G. The cabinet opening for the TV and Playbar provides 16" of vertical clearance from the bottom (above the fireplace) to the bottom of the TV. The full cavity measures 84" wide, 56.5" tall, and 13.5" deep. Now I’m considering upgrading to the Sonos Immersive set ( Arc Ultra, Era 300’s, and Sub 4) , but here’s my concern: Wil
Moderator Edit - Translation by Google:I have already linked Apple Music to my Sonos One and Alexa.I have also set up Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control for voice operations on the Sonos One.However, commands such as:"Alexa, play Oasis on Apple Music""Alexa, stop the music from Apple Music"...are not working. Is voice control possible? What should I do?
I’ve had Apple App Store app version 8.5.012 since the day it was available.I have not yet received the feature to disable SonosNet.When will the rollout of the feature to disable SonosNet be complete?Others mentioned some ways to “force” the feature to appear, and I’ve tried them all multiple times. It’s now June 5, and I still don’t have the feature. I’ve got a Beam with surrounds, and I’ve had an ethernet cable dangling right behind it ready to plug in for YEARS.

Hi everyone,!--tgqphd|[]-->I am stuck trying to reconnect my smart home system after having it packed away for a year. I am in the exact same house, but the only variable that has changed is that my ISP (BT) supplied me with a brand-new BT Smart Hub to replace our old one. I have a connect amp (bought in 2016) that I used to have linked to my old hi fi system that linked to my surround sound so that I couldplay vinyl through the surround sound. how do I set this up again as it doesn’t seem to now work. any advice appreciated.
Hi everyone,I’m trying to decide between the Era 100s and Era 300s for my theater room to pair with a Arc Ultra and likely a sub under my sectional, was hoping to get some feedback on my setup. As the attached image shows, the TV is across from the longer side of the sectional, and there are two windows directly behind the couch. The picture doesn’t really show it, but the windows are recessed about 10 inches. The black boxes behind the sectional on the window sill at ear level are where I’d ideally like to place the speakers. My thought was to use the window sills since there’s enough room for either setup. The speakers would have roughly 2–4 inches of space behind them, about 10 inches on each side if I went with the Era 300s (and even more space with the Era 100s), plus plenty of room above them. The sill height lines up almost perfectly with ear level, and the sectional sits directly against the wall.Given this layout, do you think the Era 100s or Era 300s would work better? One thin

Hi All, If anyone could advise please. I am very interested in improving home cinema for the lounge. Torn between beam and arc ultra. My lounge is 8.32 meter length, 3.76 metre width. I sit width ways facing tv (so just under 3.76 meter to where sound bars will be).As the room is long so I have large windows about 2 meter to the right of sofa and French doors about 5 meter to right of me.I do not need major base and im cautious about blasting the neighbour with noise so I don't think I will got beyond 50-60% volumeDoes anyone have experience with this layout. I am concerned the psycoacoustic and immersion will be lost due to distance French doors and the sound will not be good. Also anyone had lip sync issues with beam or ultra? Planning to get new tv this year but I hear hicense or tcl have hand shake issues to. May go lg or sony but any feed back on lip sync would be appreciated. Thank you
