Have a Beam + 2 x one SL acting as surround sound speakers + sub set up as 1 room connected to a Samsung TV via HDMI cable to ARC on TV & would like to add a further pair of one SL currently set up as additional room to the room containing the Beam etc. to enable all 6 speakers to be controlled by the TV remote - the TV remote currently only controls the volume on the Beam/surround/sub speakers Is it possible?
Hi Sonos family. Recently added gen3 sub to my collection. Running two subs now. Any advice on the best placement. Two either side of tv or horizontal? Any tweaking ideas to get the best sound possible?
Hello, I was wondering i could get a little advice please.I previously had a Sonos playbar, set up with a optical cable that connected to an audio splitter box. On this box it has 3 hdmi inputs & 1 hdmi output. The PS5, media device & bluray player are the hdmi inputs - with the singular out put being a 4k epson projector. This set up has worked for me thus far with no issue with being able to change the hdmi’s whilst still having audio being sent to the playbar & associated sound surround. I must mention that the Optical cable is around 10-12m in length as its currently ran neatly around the room from place(soundbar) to place (projector). Now i have changed over to the Sonos Arc, I am a little perplexed as to how to proceed & would appreciate any advice available. Is there a way i can have the Sonos Arc connected to my already neatly ran optical cable & associated audio splitter box ? Am i best running a fresh HDMI cable from the Sonos Arc? But, if so - would i need
Hi Everyone,Firstly I appreciate all your time in helping me figure out my system! To start, I will list the gear I have in this setup:Sonos Play1 (two) for left and right speaker surround sound Sonos Beam Gen1 directly under my TV Sonos Connect Gen2 which connects to a basic record player from a company called U-Turn Audio, it does have a built in preamp that is usually switched on to strengthen the signal otherwise the volume level is quite low when a record is playingFirst question is with regards to an ethernet connection: does anything need to be connected to ethernet? Historically I have had at least one component connected to ethernet but as I understand it that is not a requirement outside of having a stronger mesh between your Sonos components.Second question deals with the Sonos Connect Gen2: I recently moved apartments and everything has been working except for the Connect which is connected to my record player (via RCA cable). After trying both input and output cable recept
I have an alarm set, target is master bedroom, and the setting includes everywhere. The devices in master bedroom are an Era 100 stereo pair and a mini subwoofer. Sometimes, when the alarm begins playing (SiriusXM), I respond with “hey Sonos pause”. If the command is successful, the response is a single chime and the music stops. With increasing frequency, the command fails. The response is a thud sound and music continues. If I reissue the command, I get a verbal response of “There’s nothing playing right now” and the music continues. I must say that the utterly b*******t response when the music is playing and continues to play is completely infuriating.Any ideas how to address this?Bill Frazier Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.

All of a sudden, on my last “update music library” I get that an unexpected error occurred trying to import playlists. The music that was recently added is there. I have tried to read the various posts, but cannot figure out what I should actually do. Never had this problem before, including when there used to be a problem with the new software finding the music on my Mac Studio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,I have 5 pairs of sonos in ceiling/wall speakers connected to 5 sonos amps. What would be best configuration to create a surround experience in a room? Happy to add one or two sonos gen 3 subs to the system and add one or two sonos fives if that helps achieving high quality 3D spatial audio. I would like to not add a soundbar if possible.Could I even use more than two pairs of in-ceiling/in-wall speakers in one room as a surround setup? I have read entries about 4.1 or 4.2 setups by using a pair of sonos in-walls as front left and right and another pair as surround left and right -- utilizing only two pairs in one room. If I can use more than two pairs, could I add 3 pairs as front left and right and 2 pairs as surround left and right? Is Sonos planning to support a richer surround configuration experience? Is their lack of support a product/marketing strategy to prioritize selling their sonos eras and soundbars or is there a technical challenge they are not able to pass with the cu
I don’t see anywhere on sonos mac os desktop app where i can select pre designed groups. i see it on the ios apps but not the mac os. can you see them on mac os. i can’t even see where i could edit or creat groups on mac os
Hi,my top question is on how do I add my Symfonisks (that I already added to my Sonos app) to the IKEA Home Smart app? I already forgot how I managed add the one I have there and can not find how to replicate my victory. I find that the IKEA app is way more responsive than the Sonos app for some reason and I hope to add another Symfonisk remote to Symfonisk in my other room.I also would love to know if there are any good resources that perhaps you used to migrate your system from Windows to Linux, I my ultimate goal would be to have my thin client to run Linux store all the FLACs I bought and use jellyfin for movies and stuff. Thanks for any tips :)
I have just sold my Sonos arc and want to by another sonos Soundbar later. Can I still use my Sub with my Play 5 or my Symfonisk speakers from Ikea? if yes how do i set it up?
Does anyone have a Move 1 Box they do not require any longer?Moderator edit: Warning - do not share private details online
Hey folks,Simple question. I have two Sonos Ones and one Sonos One SL, and one Play:1 in my house. I have the Ones set up with Alexa. I have them grouped together in Sonos and in the Alexa app (under the group name “All Speakers”), and all I want is to control the volume of the entire group with a voice command instead of doing them all one by one. If I say “Alexa Volume 3” it just changes the volume of the speaker I’m talking to only, and if I say “Alexa All speakers volume 3” it just changes only the volume of whichever speaker is on the top of the order in the Sonos app, leaving all the other ones unchanged in both scenarios. This is driving me nuts. I factory reset all my speakers, reconnected them to my system, reconnected it all to Alexa, set up all the groups, and no change in behavior. I tried using this new handy Zones feature but my play:1 is too old to be zoned. I am at an impasse. Thinking of just getting rid of my whole system and buying Alexa Studios just so I can cha
Hej,I bought two IKEA Symfonisk lamps for my home. I use Apple Homekit. I have an IKEA gateway. The lights added to HomeKit without a problem, and even the remote controls for the lights. However, I can't add the speakers to Apple Homekit :( Why?What's the solution? --ve
I’m trying to connect my four-year old echo dot to my Sonos speakers and am having a lot of trouble. Would it help to buy a newer echo dot?
Good morning everyone, I am writing from Italy, Rome.It is a pleasure to read your comments, I have noticed many experts in the community!I would like some advice: I have a complete Sonos system with all the latest updates, but since I am changing the furniture I have a doubt about the positioning of the Sonos Arc. What is the recommended/correct height from the floor? Currently it is 53.5 cm from the floor, but with the new furniture I would reach 57.5 cm from the floor, but I can change the dimensions of the new furniture (I still have time to do so because it is in progress!).Thank you very much for the precious advice...Greetings to all.
Hello. I am about to purchase my first Sonos system, after years of high end, old style equipment. I could really use some input from sonos users in chosing between a pair of 5s or era 300s.My music is classical 75% and oldies rock 25%.I have a moderate to large room.My wife does not like the volume too loud, so I would say our volume is moderate: neither background nor conversation killer. My main reason for diving into sonos: while my system is extremely accurate, whenever I encounter that wide open sonos sound stage I really like it. I am also tired of ongoing speaker placement efforts to image well and put me in rhat sweet spot. So I'd sacrifice a bit of accuracy for a big soundstage.Based on the above would you advise me to look at a pair of 5s or era 300s? Thanks in advance for your replies.
When trying to play music through my linked Napster account, there have been problems going back to the new app launch. Almost every time when I try playing music from Napster, it will at best play a couple songs without issue. Typically it will either suddenly lose all audio, while the song timer continues to run like the song is still playing, continue to do that on any subsequent song, not play additional songs (with the timer running), or the incredibly common error message saying the connection to Napster has been lost. I've reauthorized the account multiple times, and even though it says it was successfully authorized, the problem is never resolved. Since there are so many problems and shortcomings with the app, and this only started after the new app was released, I hoped it would be resolved as attempts to fix the app were made. After avoiding the use of Napster for several months when using my speaker, I tried again today and received the same lost connection to Napster.
Hello,I'm recently bought a pair of Era 100 and I added these as a surround speakers for my Ray with a Sub mini but I don't have the stands for the speakers but in a weeks I'm going moving to another house and there I can pit the speakers on the wall but while I want to use the surround speakers in front at the same height of the soundbar and using the reflections of the lateral walls can listen like there are closely back or minimum more spaciality, my room is almost a square it's 3.75m high and 3.95m wide (12.3ft x 13ft) and my soundbar is like in 20cm in front the wall so is remaining only 3.55m and my spot of listening is 1.5m of the soundbar, can any give me some solutions or tips for this, and configurations in the app? PD: Sorry if my English isn't the best I'm Mexican and I don't speak English natively :)
I have been trying to setup my SONOS ONE SL with Alexa skills (yes I know it doesn’t have a microphone) but both my echo dot 1 and echo dot latest gen have mics so I can give commands from them. Problem is I have disabled and deleted the skill and try to re-enable but whatever I do it doesn’t work and Alexa doesn’t seem to be able to find the device although the Sonos app is working normally.
Hello, could you please help me solve these character issues with Alexa. I can rename it but description still with special character error.what’s wrong and what is this device.Even if it’s disable I can control TV !!thanks

Hello Sonos community! I need some help with something that has stopped working. I have many Sonos products in my house and make use of the integration with Alexa. I have a problem with two Echo Dots that has started in the last couple of weeks.A have an Echo Dot in each of my kids rooms and have them configured to always play music to a speaker in the same room ("group" in Alexa verbiage). In each case that's a Sonos Amp. For the last 4 or 5 **years** this has worked pretty flawlessly, enabling my kids to talk to their Echo Dot and say "play XYZ", to which Alexa will reply "shuffling songs by XYZ on Amazon Music, PLAYING ON SONOS" and the music starts playing out of their ceiling-mounted speakers via the Sonos Amp in their respective bedrooms. In recent weeks however, Alexa instead replies with the following: "shuffling songs by XYZ on Amazon Music, playing on Sonos. Sorry ON SONOS is offline" - and the music won't play at all.I've tried a bunch of things to resolve this: resetting the
