At my leaving room, I have setup Beam, Sub and two one SL already configured. I want to move my one SL to my Gym and just want to play that Gym SL only. Tried but not able to configured. Is it because it is already configured with Beam ? Can I make same SL configure for two room?
hello,I would like to hook a turntable up, but I do no have the right sonos product. But I do still like my sonos play base and my sonos 1. The Play Base does not have line-in. is their any way I can do this? I heard about products like a Deltaco HDMI Switch Premium. My Play Base is also connected to the TV. Can anyone help me solving this? thank you /p
Any suggestions on should I update my Sonos system? I am waiting for HomePod mini and have some credit with Sonos. Was thinking of upgrading to arc, 2 ones. I’ll be keeping my sub. Should I get 2 one sl or 2 ones?
Is this doable at all? So far, the Sonos app does not appear to have this feature, and even using the google assistant ‘hey google, like this song’ results in ‘Sorry, I don’t understand that’. For a company priding itself on bringing the music to you, this seems like a huge oversight, especially since YTM has no other way to like a song when it is playing on another device, that I know of. Any help is appreciated here. I want to use youtube music more and have the ability to like the songs / dislike so it can then give me more personalized results. And I love the sonos sound.
Why oh why can’t you play music from iMatch …. :-(
Shall I add two more speakers at “X” positions? Should I move closer to the sofa the 5s? Shall I replace the 5s with SL? Shall I move the sub closer to the sofa?Or shall I leave it as it is?Thank you
Hello I am looking for the best way to get the sound from my television, Sky & DVD player etc. coming through my amplifier, this is not that straight forward as the Tv and amplifier are in different rooms, I did have a Sonos connect plugged in to the red/white Audio connectors on the side of my old plasma television and I connected through the line in function through the Sonos app, although there was a slight delay this was easy to do & worked well, however I now cannot do this as I recently changed my television to a LG TV Model 49UF850V which now has no audio sockets which I gather is the case with all new TVs? I was advised the best way round was to get a Tenkak HD10 which I got & connected to the television though hdmi arc, this though does not work very well at all, to enable I have to turn it on & off through the TV sound settings and have it playing either through the Tv or the amp as it wont do both, it also cuts out a lot.I am currently contemplating buying
Hey folks,Weird one here, and I’m not sure if anyone knows a good answer so I figured I’d check in.I’ve got a great setup with a magic BD player that will convert DTS to DD 5.1, so I’ve been having no trouble with most signals. However, I have 2 DVDs in my collection that have 5.1 mixes (an old Saxon album and the new 5.1 mix from the Motorhead Ace of Spades box set). Neither of those will convert. When I look at the credits/info on the DVDs and packaging, there’s no indication of what type of 5.1 signal it is. My assumption is that if it were DTS or DD, they would have to list that. Signal from Sonos shows up as LCM 2.0, so the BD player is not converting them.So my question is: does anybody know what type of 5.1 these might be? And if so, any devices that convert those to DD 5.1?Thanks so much.(Rest of setup is Playbase, Vizio TV)
[ X-posted from /r/sonos forum on Reddit ] I'm a long suffering Sonos Playbar owner who has wasted a lot of time and money trying to get 5.1 surround sound working from my Nvidia Shield TV 2015 edition. From the number of posts on the Sonos and Nvidia user forums I'm clearly not alone.Last week I picked up the new Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 and I'm happy to report that the Sonos is now seeing DD 5.1 from all of the sources I mentioned above. This is confirmed both by my ears but also via the Sonos mobile app > System > About My System > Playbar TV > "Audio In: Dolby Digital 5.1"My hardware setup: Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 : HDMI Out --> HDMI In : Samsung TV UA65F9000AKXXS : Optical Audio Out --> Optical Audio in : Sonos PlaybarThe new Shield TV Pro 2019 has new audio settings that the old model didn't and it is handling the conversion of pretty much any surround sound format into whatever audio formats the connected device can support, which for the Playbar is just AC3
Hello, everybody I am new to the sonos community and so far impressed with the options and sound quality associated with sonos products. So far I own and brand new sonos beam and sonos move. The beam is connected to my tv via HDMI ARC, and beam is connected to my home wireless internet. The Sonos move is connected to the beam though my home wireless internet. The beam and move are grouped together so i can travel freely around my house with the move speaker and still hear the tv. Everything works as it should as far a sound and connectivity. Here is my question. I turn off the tv for the night with my amazon firestick. When I turn it back on in the morning the sonos move is no longer set to play tv and acts as though it wants to play music all by itself. All I have to do it select tv for the move and they are back operating together. Do they disconnect if turned off for a while? I imagine they use the same tech and the other speakers used for surround sound and never heard anyone say
Hello there,YouTube Music is moving fast, the service (finally) have some serious content on its apps (web or mobile), like new playlists, context playlists, personnalised playlists… Nothing appears on the Sonos app for Youtube, users are still locked in artists / songs / library mode. The “home” page doesn’t display much… We need a better sync with what Youtuve Music offers to its users on its apps. Also, we should be able to vote up or down songs inside the Sonos app and to launch radios more easily from tracks, playlists like we used to from Google Play Music, and the ability to add or remove tracks from our own playlists. PS : I’m using the S1 version of Sonos because guess what, my speakers are still working fine !
Each time another user connects to the same Sonos, I get overwritten and then get prompted to sign in using that user’s email. How do I stop this/Ensure that I can switch between users without having to do the whole logging in thing? Thanks
I have been a loyal Sonos customer for may years and love your products (I own a Play 3, Play 5, Connect G1 and G2s) but I have to complain about the new Sonos app. The one thing that I dislike about the new player is when I go to landscape mode on my phone (Samsung S10 plus), the interface stays in portrait mode. On my tablet (LG G Pad III), landscape works but instead of having the layout like in the S1 version, everything is centered and the artwork is super tiny, compared to the S1 interface, where the artwork is on the side and takes full advantage of the space given and info on the opposite side.
I was trying to instal a tv outside that is about 50’ from my Sonos amp. The Sonos amp is powering two sonance outdoor speakers. Was wondering what is the best way to get a “line in” into the amp to also play the audio from the TV. But I also want to be able to choose to either have the TV play audio from its own speakers or through the sonance speakers. Meaning I may want to listen to the radio through the outdoor sonance and simultaneously play the tv audio through the tv . Or just play the tv audio with no radio through the outdoor speakers. Would it be best to run a 50’ analog or connect the tv to the amp through a 50’ hdmi arc, or do you have any other suggestions Thank you
Hi, I have been a Sonos enthusiast for years.purchased a beam maybe 2 years ago and is plugged into my Samsung TV vie the Earc HDMI port. All worked well until last night. Noticed a mid / low frequency droning noise behind the TV audio. The noise follows the volume control. Unplugged the HDMI and streamed music and that plays fine.Plug TV back in and the noise starts again. I have been into TV settings and swapped from PCM to bit stream and back and also through the Dolby digital and PCM etc. Nothing stops it.I have tried it in a standard TV HDMI port but I get no sound, even though the TV says it has a receiver connected and playing through it.I have had no TV or Sonos updates recently Tony knowledge, also I am still using S1 controller due to my legacy products.Wondered if anyone has any ideas before I do a complete reset on my TV, or if the TV is actually at fault. Many thanksAndy
I updated to Sonos controller v12.2 yesterday. Now, when I right-click on the Sonos app that is on the MacOS dock I no longer see the controls such as Mute, Mute All, etc.I am pretty sure that these existed on my last version of the controller, which would have (likely) been v12 or v12.1 as I am nearly always current with software.Did this get eliminated? Or am I imagining it?Thanks!
My Sonos 1 stereo pair was connected to my Apple TV 4K all along but suddenly from today I’m unable to see the Sonos 1 on the Video and Audio tab in settings. Please help
The currently playing item now obscures the last selection in "My Sonos" favorites. I am unable to get to this choice. This started just after upgrading to S2.
I have a fully installed S1 system upgraded to S2 that plays in five rooms. I’m old (79) and don’t speak tech so I need a simple step by step guide on how to find music options, how to select and play same, in which rooms, then delete same later. Most importantly, how do I build a playlist of individual Christmas songs of my choosing? Where can I find very specific instructions on how to do those basic things?
What should I get for my new debt patio and fire pit area to connect to my projector and karaoke machine? I'm up for putting in a whole sound system so everyone can watch our outdoor movie theater I just don't know what to get to make it work.
What are best options for controlling new Sonos 2 system other than iPhone or iPad? Looking for something not recharcargable but permanently plugged into 110V. Will an echo show work?
Hi!It maybe a stupid question but just would like to know if there's any improvement on watching the contents from the streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV + and the movies purchased or rented from iTunes Movies after this update? Thanks!
Successfully upgraded to S2 app (iPhone 10, latest iOS). S1 app icon shows, but cannot find the new S2 app icon. Have to either search for S2 to launch it or launch S1 and launch S2 from within S1 app. What am I doing wrong?
New to Sonos with a single Sonos One. I notice when I search on my Sonos app that I do not get the same search results that I do when I search directly on the Apple Music app. I see a lot more results for my search on Apple than on Sonos. If this is a long term issue, I guess my options are to switch to Amazon Music HD. How are the search results there via the Sonos App?Or, I can return the Sonos One to BestBuy and switch to an Apple HomePod or more likely HomePod Mini. This is for a bedroom. I don’t really need loud high resolution audio.Which leads me to ask, is Amazon Music HD overkill for Sonos? I haven’t seen any sign that Sonos handles high resolution audio.I’m also considering a Sonos Arc, but my questions about that is for a separate post.
I currently have a 5.1 Surround setup in my basement with Playbase, 2 Play 5 and a sub at the front. Is it possible to add another sub in the back? If not, is this something Sonos can add in the setup. I’m not sure what the limitations are from a technical standpoint.
