I would like to open up a survey about an issue I am experiencing.I have a sonos Arc in one room with alexa and sonos voice control (SonosVC) enabled (sonos with microphone). I have an echo dot in another room paired with a sonos playbar (sonos without microphone). I have a subscription to apple music. I have a group on the alexa app called home where both arc and playbar are grouped.Asking Alexa to play on individual room works, from both device:Alexa-Arc-->playbar→ sounds come from playbar Alexa-Echo-->playbar→ sounds come from playbar Alexa-Echo-->Arc→ sounds come from arc Alexa-Arc-->Arc→ sounds come from arcAsking Alexa to play on the “home” group only play audio from the device where the request was submitted, despite showing the the music playing on both device on the sonos app.Alexa-Arc-->home → sounds come only from arc Alexa-Echo-->home→ sounds come only from playbarAsking sonos voice control (SonosVC) to play everywhere works.SonosVC-Arc-->everywhere→ so
I just upgraded to a Spotify Family Plan. 2 of those accounts are for kids. They each have an ipad with the sonos app installed that connects to a single Sonos network. In other words, the sonos app is installed on multiple home devices that access the same sonos account.I want to set up each family’s spotify account on their respective Sonos app. But when I login with my Spotify credentials, it only connects to my account. What am I missing? How do I set them up to access their spotify kids account on the sonos app?
I’m a fan of CNET and have been for years. I think their reviews of tech are honest and straight forward. I know many prefer The Verge and/or Reddit; but I think CNET brings a different perspective that’s worthy of reading. In a drunken stuper I accidentally upgraded my two play 3's to S2. Nothing but issues ever since. Cannot get them back to S1 even after an hour and a half on the phone to technical support. Reset made no difference and attempted downgrade did nothing . Still stuck with S2 which in my opinion is hopeless. And it took me forever to configure them to a stereo pair as they were before on S1. Is it me, am I missing something, why didn't Sonos just leave it alone ? Never had a problem in thirteen years before this. Only thing I can think is don't get drunk and have a grandchild ask for a Mary Poppins song ! 😂
Has there been any talk of large venue arena style sound systems from this team?
Sonos, please fix your app. I love your products, but this past month I have serious connectivity issues with my era300 in stereo pair.
I intend to replace my old Bose surround sound setup with a Sonos Arc Ultra, but I’m trying to understand if I need to buy rear speakers and/or bass unit. Sonos support seems to think the soundbar alone should be sufficient but I am skeptical. The room is 16’ x 20’ with a cathedral ceiling that is 13’ high at the peak. The 65” TV is in one corner and must stay there (or so my boss tells me), and the sound bar can be easily placed on the cabinet with the TV. Do I really need rear speakers and/or bass unit? Also there are three exposed beams in the room about 8’ above the floor so rear speakers could be mounted there BUT it’s somewhat a pain to do that as I’d have to run power up there. Help!!
There are a number of reasons Sonos has let so many down and are still struggling 9+ months after forcing a terrible app (+cloud control) on a once mostly happy/repeat customer base. Yes the app is still sub-par even with some major improvements lately, yet almost a year in and still some features/services/function are not even on par with S2-1 (even SonoPad & SonoPhone are better apps). Outrageous! Firmware (software for the units) is also an issue which is why we keep seeing it updated so often. All this so they could shove some BT cans out the door and force us into their cloud. Forcing our once local control over to Sonos’ leased servers just adds all sorts of potential lag/security issues/complications, not to mention, future potential monetization of our user data (see also new TV set-tip box). Yes there are some lucky users in the Goldilocks zone, but not most or Spence would still have his job. Short-sighted, greedy, lying leadership backed by an apparently blind board s
This day in 2025, Friday March 8th, the Sonos S19 Soundbar started playing all by itself. I wasn’t there to hear it but my wife was. My only choice was troubleshoot it (again) or remove it. It is a shame such an nice sound bar had to go.It starts by itself about once every 6 months. It usually responds to voice command by this time she could not turn it off by command and it eventually stopped by itself. We have it connected to a newer Sony 85" Bravia Core Television. We have an Alexa smart speaker nearby, also have DirecTV so there is a set top box (STB) connected. By the time I got to it I just unplugged it and removed it entirely. Problem solved. The only thing reasonable thing that I can imagine is that she likes to cover it with nick nacks, so even though the touch controls have been disabled (using the Sonos application with a Pixel 8a smartphone) there maybe some weird extraneous inputs on its frame somewhere that aren’t disabled. Or maybe Alex conspires to network into it
Hello.Upgraded recently to Arc Ultra with a pair of 300’s.Today I’ve removed from their place on shelves the two older Play 5’s to sell.I found the power cable on one of them to be incredible sticky. No idea why, both speakers are in the same family room. Nothing anywhere near the speaker to cause a residue to build up on the cable. It really is quite sticky to the touch along the whole length. Certainly not something I’d be happy selling to someone else. Both speakers have been fabulous and are still in terrific working order. I’m going to miss the sound quality as the 300’s, whilst brilliant for Atmos, are not as ‘warn’. Anyone come across this before?Any cleaning solutions you can advise to get rid of this?Cleaning solution you’d advise for the Play 5 speakers just to make sure they’re at their best for the new owner?
Sonos voice control should be compatible with Govee. It would make it way easier to be able to control my Govee lights with my Sonos. Or at least Sonos should have add google assistant back.
HelloI am looking for advise and recommendations on how best I can leverage my existing Sonos equipment in a new home. I currently have the following equipment3x Sonos ONE 1x Playbar 1x Ray 1x Beam Gen2 1x AMP 18x Sonos MAG-6R I am trying to use these in a new apartment in the below layout and figure out what additional devices I may need to purchase. Couple of requirementsEach room (BR) should be its own zone so that I can play music through the in-ceiling MAGs individually BR1 and LivingRoom need to have surround setup The Dining Room speakers should be such that they can be clubbed with the Living ceiling speakers for music streaming. When watching TV in the Living Room, only the ceiling speakers in the living room should be used. Based on my knowledge, I have tried to attempt the layout as shown in the image. Red indicates what I will need to purchase - which is what I’m trying to minimize :)My main area of confusion is the best way to setup the Living and Dining in such a way th
I've read a bunch of related responses here, but I'm still having trouble getting my Sonos speaker to play music from my Denon receiver. I have the two connected via the digital coax cable. The rest of my components are connected to the receiver. The sonos app is set up and shows the Port as one of the options to play. I'm set on fixed volume. I'm on Zone 2….but still nothing. Any suggestions?

First let me say that I am technically very adept, having been a DJ and software engineer. I have installed or upgraded many wired (and more than a few wireless) sound systems. In November replaced my old Definitive wireless system with 3 100’s (2 of which are a speaker pair.) Also purchased the Pro-Ject-1 turntable.Wow, what crap this is. Oh yeah sounds great when they work. BUT...speakers drop off, or the sound goes out, OVER AND OVER. There is NO interference, the speakers are all close or even in the same room as the router. Last night we had a party, and just as people were arriving, BOOM, the Sonos app/Spotify once again could find no products. After unplugging everything (including the router) and firing them all up again, it sort of worked, but the speaker pair was gone and I had to set that up again. Anyone without the technical proficiency of myself would have been at their wits end. I got it work (again, this happens just about every other day) but I was so angry that
I recently upgraded from an Arc with ikea bookcase speakers for surrounds to Era 300 surrounds. Streaming content sounds great which is in typically Dolby Atmos or Dolby Digital 5.1. I tried out using my game console and am finding that the rear channels have a bit of a garbled sound. My console is outputting uncompressed 5.1 sound, and with the ikea speakers the rear channels sounded normal. My console specifically is a docked Steam Deck and I’m unable to output Dolby digital or atmos. Has anyone experienced this before and is there some remedy to fix?
Hi, I am currently have beam gen 1, 2 One SL as surround, 1 sub mini. I mainly steam movies through Apple TV. Should I upgrade to Beam Gen 2 or Arc and do I need to upgrade the 2 One to Era in order to have Atmos? Thank in advance
Hello,A few days ago, I noticed that my Sonos speakers were "unresponsive" in the Home app when I was away from home. After trying several things (rebooting, removing and re-adding the speaker in HomeKit) without success, I reset all the speakers to factory settings. It took some time, but it worked. But this morning, I updated my iPhone and iPad to iOS 18.2.1, and the problem came back! My Sonos speakers are once again unresponsive in the Home app. Please note that I am not at home, so I can't check if it works when I'm on the same network. In any case, do you know a way to fix the issue without resetting the speakers again? Thanks for help.

Hi everyone! We are preparing for the opening of a new Pilates and Dance studio, which will consist of two rooms. The main room measures 7 x 8 sqm with a ceiling height of 4.8m, while the second room is similar in size but has a ceiling height of 2.5m.I believe that one or two pieces of Era 100 in each room should be sufficient. Does anyone have a different opinion or any advice to share? Thanks!
IF Yes, which devices will be ready to use Alexa+? Do you have any information about this?
