Hello

I am looking for advise and recommendations on how best I can leverage my existing Sonos equipment in a new home. I currently have the following equipment

  • 3x Sonos ONE 
  • 1x Playbar
  • 1x Ray
  • 1x Beam Gen2
  • 1x AMP 
  • 18x Sonos MAG-6R 

I am trying to use these in a new apartment in the below layout and figure out what additional devices I may need to purchase. Couple of requirements

  1. Each room (BR) should be its own zone so that I can play music through the in-ceiling MAGs individually
  2. BR1 and LivingRoom need to have surround setup
  3. The Dining Room speakers should be such that they can be clubbed with the Living ceiling speakers for music streaming. When watching TV in the Living Room, only the ceiling speakers in the living room should be used. 

Based on my knowledge, I have tried to attempt the layout as shown in the image. Red indicates what I will need to purchase - which is what I’m trying to minimize :)

My main area of confusion is the best way to setup the Living and Dining in such a way that the ceiling speakers can be used either for the TV surround or for music streaming.

BR1 -  Amp is needed for surrounds unless you intend to only use the Beam for Tv audio.

Living and dining -  sould each have an amp. Once an Amp is bonded to a soundbar for a home theater room, every speaker will play in that room when grouped with other rooms. To only use them for music without the Playbar and Sub, you will need to unpair them and do Trueplay. To add them back to the Playbar, you need to pair them again as surrounds and Trueplay. this is a PITA if you s me.

If you intend to have all six speakers on a single amp, TV audio will play through all speakers, unless you have an in wall volume control for the dining room, so that you are able to turn that pair down.

Regarding the living room, would it work if I add a speaker selector along with the AMP? Switching between the 2 rear speakers for surround when using the TV with playbar and other 4 ceiling speakers  (2 from LR and 2 from DR) for music streaming.
