Web app doesn't show album art

is there a solution?

Upload your personal library into an online music service, eg Apple Match, the web app will get the album art directly from the the uploaded files, even if its been customised.

Or iBroadcast.com which has a free tier.

Thanks! So once I upload my music library to iBroadcast, how do I get Sonos to use that album artwork in the web app? Do I need to add iBroadcast as a service? 

Yes, see attached example of my Sonos Home setup using the Sonos Web App on an iPad and the installed iBroadcast service… it shows the Art is working with that service once the local library has been uploaded to their servers.

Hmm, I was really excited by this solution until I saw this on the iBroadcast site: “The core, free service streams music at 128kbps.” 
So while it looks like a great way to see album art in the web app, it’s a really low-quality way to listen to music. Unless I’m missing a way to just use the art part of iBroadcast along with the playback quality of my own local library?

You can pay them actual money for higher quality streaming. There are no free lunches, or cloud services for that matter.

Well Plex is perhaps another option, but in that case, same as iBroadcast, you might need to pay for the service to get the higher quality audio.

Otherwise I guess it’s a case of using the Sonos App locally, or instead remotely over a VPN server/client connection - I know that the Softether VPN server platform and a connection from an iOS device using L2TP over IPsec will allow this remote connection to work okay (obviously with an SMBv2 (or higher) link in the Sonos App to a local library share).

Thanks -- Plex is indeed an option, but like the other options, it adds a layer I don’t really want. And since Sonos is discontinuing availability/support of its desktop apps, that just leaves the web app -- even for local use, AFAIK.
