Hey all! We've got a new update live for both iOS and Android. Here's a quick breakdown of what's changed. If you want to see what the teams have been up to check out our App Release Notes here and System (Player) Release Notes here.

As always, this is a Phased Rollout — think of it like a wave; not everyone gets it at the same time. If you're on iOS and want to nudge it along, head to the App Store, pull down on your Account page (the one showing pending updates), and give it a refresh. That usually does the trick.

What's New:

App Update

iOS - 86.00.41

Android - 86.00.35

  • iOS App Intents - You can now create shortcuts that integrate with Siri and Apple Home. This includes playback control, grouping, volume control, and playback initiation.

Player Update

  • Modern: 95.1-78010

We'd love to hear from you! If you've already started building shortcuts, drop them in the comments — we'd love to see what you've come up with. And if there's something you wish App Intents could do, let us know. Your feedback helps shape where this feature goes next. 🙏

I don't see anything relating to the update when following the link (just historic updates), is that intended?

Regarding not everybody getting it at the same time (phased rollout), my understanding was that getting the Update didn't necessarily mean you got the new functions too and they're controlled separately? i.e. you can have the latest version but not actually have the new functionality? Does pulling down on the Account page force something else? Is there an equivalent for Android?

I think the release notes didn't get updated yet. (They are now)

The rollout is phased but it doesn't appear that the features are but I don't use Apple so I can't tell for sure.

Not in the post, but does anyone else feel like their Era-300 status lights are dimmer than before the update? Mute is still nicely bright but the basic white color is really dim, not visible without darkening the room.

Edit: Era-100s and older/other Sonos don't seem to be dimmer.

Thanks for the callout on the Release Notes page. I’ve let that team know and it should be up to date soon @sjw and @Stanley_4.

See the release notes. Here is a copy of the link from the first post here:

Question still applies (have I gone blind?) 😂

Guess so, sorry about that. :-)

Well unless the formatting is confusing me and the release note is supposed to be saying they are for iOS only.

OK, I've not seen it like this before.

(“Hey all! We've got a new update live for both iOS and Android.”)

So there is an Android Update, but it has no changes?  It's not just a point release either, it goes from 85.x to 86.x too?

Don't know, I was asking too.

  • June 9, 2026

The android release is the always informative “Bug fixes and improved performance” according to the Play Store. But, yeah, not having release notes for such a jump in versions is pretty unusual.

Is the phased rollout of the previous update already finished? I don’t have the new features promised in the previous update yet. (Still cannot disable SonosNet and I don’t have the improved “About your system” display).

Did you get the last App update, or this one? Then you might see it.

Only timeline I've seen is two weeks from the update to the last wave of activations.

No notice it has finished here:

🤓 they forgot 'making local library search work' too... again!

Yes, I have installed the app released today and also updated the firmware.

I have the new features from this update (the IOS shortcuts) but I still do not have the new features promised in the previous update (Sonosnet disable etc.). So I am just wondering if that phased rollout is still running. It would be nice if this process was somewhat clearer to the end user.

That's bizarre if you have an updated App but still don't have the features from the previous one.

Well done Sonos 👏. iOS Shortcuts is a nice feature for any iOS App. I was keen to test, so I created a quick test Shortcut to read NFC tag, set volume and play specific radio station in my office.

The feature request for more functionality with Sonos Alarms that keeps coming up can now be easily achieved with the iOS Shortcuts:

eg group players before Alarm fires. Can also be given more logic, so Alarm only fires if you are at home (ie connected to Home WiFi network) in iOS personal automations.

Are you looking here, under Settings?

I wish you would reconsider not adding a desktop app that is compatible with Apple silicon. The old app is being deprecated with the release MacOS 27 Golden Gate. I am aware you can make a web app, but the functionality of the desktop app is not present in the web app.

I got the option to disable SonosNet today. So to answer my own question, the rollout of this feature runs in parallel with other updates.
