It’s hard to tell from the ‘outside’, but I’m going to hazard a guess that your Mac is connected to a different mesh node than your iPhone. I’d certainly read this thread.
Alternately, you could call Sonos Support to discuss it.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
Same problem for me. Onlyb1 devise out of 5 working with latest beta update.
Who’s beta? Sonos, along with many, many others, don’t expend the effort to keep up with changes that occur in software betas from other companies, there’s just too many random changes that are tested, and only some of them stay around. Sonos only supports actual software releases, not betas.
Again, if you’re having difficulty in connecting, it’s often a network issue, and calling Sonos Support to discuss it might help get things figured out.
I managed to block all updates back in May 2024 and kept my 15 devices running with the golden S2 16.1 app (Android) and system version 16.1.1 on my speakers, Amp, and Port. This setup lasted until last weekend, when speaker changes—out with a Beam Gen 1 and Sub Mini, in with a deeply discounted Sub Gen 3—forced my hand, and I finally performed the upgrade (80.24.32 app + all speakers).
What happened?
Well… no disaster of biblical proportions, although I had to run the upgrade three times before everything was fully up to date. Once that was done, adding the new Sub was just as easy as it used to be—no issues there. Overall, the upgrade was smooth, and the system felt at least as stable as the outdated pre-update 16.1.1.
My impressions of the new UI?
After overcoming some middle-aged reluctance to change, I found it quick and easy to use. Yes, there’s a learning curve—but that’s true for any app. The Wiim app has received praise in the media recently, but I personally prefer the Sonos metaphor. I did notice a few minor issues: nothing related to Trueplay proper was visible on Android—not even a toggle—and the Music Library struggled to display cover art. Still, everything else worked well. Other issues might pop up down the road, but so far so good.
All in all, waiting over a year seems to have paid off. Sure, I freerode while others endured the beta testing, and I may be one of the lucky few with a Sonos-friendly network setup. Nevertheless, this wasn’t nearly as dreadful as I had feared. Hooray!
Just performed the latest IOS app update and I think it’s remembering my place in the long queue after selecting the playlist icon. If I’m not seeing things, I am very happy.

Yes, it’s definitely working on all three of my devices. Thank you Sonos for quietly sneaking that feature back into the new app.
Great that the queue finally opens to show the active song playing. Pity it took 15 months to achieve!
Perhaps in another year we may be able to once again save the queue to a playlist?
