Sonos Arc wall mount: How to fit outlet and low-voltage behind the mount?

The Sonos ARC wall mount is installed flush against the wall, providing that "floating" sensation to the ARC. The mount has a bump in the center, precluding approximately ½" and 5" wide, most likely to avoid interference with an outlet placed right behind. See picture then questions:

Since the ARC is only 3.5" tall and an outlet is 3 ¼" tall x 5" wide, it seems the entire center area of the wall mount is occupied by the outlet. But what about the HDMI and Cat6 wires, it seems if routed from above or below they would be visible; from the sides they would interfere with the flush mount. And what about the slack of the power cable, where do we hide it?

Some recommend to just drill a small hole behind the mount and fish the power+HDMI+Cat6 wires from the media cabinet below, however this is not code-compliant (power cords are not in-wall rated). Others recommend to get a recessed mini-outlet with line and low-voltage, however these multi-purpose outlets use Romex electrical wires which are also not code-compliant in NYC either.

Am I missing something or is the ARC design flawed for NYC code?

I have the same conundrum, and I purchased two different cable management products to see which one would work. Will try out the below two, although, given the size of the recessed sound bar wall plate in the first link, I am guessing the first one is going to work.

I just did an install of my LG GX and Sonos ARC, taking some inspiration from this thread. See below. Still a little unsure if the flush power cord will solve the clearance issue.

Great install!  Which flush power cord did you end up getting and did it work?  About to do similar install with LG G1 and debating between recessed plug with hole in wall for HDMI vs. that multimedia outlet.  

Also, are you concerned at all, or have you noticed any degradation with using the “snap in” HDMI coupler?  I was considering just cutting out the divider between the two snap in slots and running cable end through it?  Hole in wall does seem like path of least resistance, but not a fan if avoidable.

Much appreciated! Although the people over at the Reddit Hometheater sub did not seem to think the write up was helpful. Posting it there got me permanently banned. I guess they really just don’t like soundbars…

Anywho, I have not noticed any degradation with the sound quality using the snap in keystone HDMI adapter/cable. I believe it passes Dolby just fine. It would be a fairly easy change out if something ended up not working right though. I almost considered cutting out that divider like you mentioned when I thought I had forgotten to buy the adapter, but then I found it in my box. I like the clean install it makes.

I did have to dremel/sand off some of the plastic near the wall plug to make it sit flush because it was hitting the soundbar mount in the orientation I wanted it in (facing downward).

I got it all installed and was really proud of myself. That night i tried watching TV and it did not work. Could not pass audio. So I found the slimmest looking HDMI cord I could find, which ended up working perfectly. Use this one or something similar.
