Any chance that the Sonos app will support a widget for iOS 17s Standby mode? Kind of seems like a no brainer really. It’s almost like it was meant to be.

Apple has a rule forbidding control of 3rd party hardware from the lock screen or hard buttons.  I would imagine the same goes for widgets, but I’m not an iOS developer.

Unless the third party hardware is HomeKit compatible which Sonos isn’t. Grrrr. I am admittedly an Apple fan but they do a great job at slowly chipping away at competitors.

There is a 3rd party iOS App (purchase required) called SonoControls that works as a widget on the Apple Home control screen (available by sliding left-to-right from the lock-screen) - I’m not affiliated to the App in any way, but you might want to take a closer look & perhaps research that App to see if it will possibly address your needs.

Also…

+1 from me for Sonos coming up with an iOS widget too, as some widgets can now be added to the iOS 17 (or higher) Lock Screen - I don’t think the SonosControls app can be added to the lock-screen (at the moment).

I just took a look and unfortunately it has a rating of 1.8 and terrible reviews. Thanks for letting me know about it though.
