Here, reddit, the appstore are all stuffed with complaints and 1 star reviews, yet Sonos haven't put out any response other than how courageous they are? This CEO needs to walk the plank, if not most of the senior management. It is unacceptable for a company of this size to act in such an inept and contemptuous manner.
Hello,I've had a Sonos full home cinema for a long time and was very happy with it, but the problems started when I had to replace my router. Now I'm really regretting buying Sonos, I was choosing between two manufacturers and ... After replacing the router, I had to connect to a new wi fi network. Beam succeeded out of many attempts with both Iphone and Android. Somehow I managed with Android, still not sure how I managed it, i.e. almost the same as winning the lottery jackpot. And I still can't connect the sub mini and one sl. Everything works and connect to wi fi and assign to a room, but when I open the app, it doesn't show up in the system and asks me to add again. The router shows that it is connected. Please, can anyone advise
Why does the new Sonos app keep randomly disconnecting and also why is it very glitchy and erratic, especially when using BBC sounds. The old app worked ok but the new one seems to have issues. Are these being worked on and fixed? It is making my Sonos not easy to use any more
With so many users having issues with the new app finding their speakers on their network, I am wondering if they have a common issue with their network? I would like to see how many users with problems have a similar type of network that may be a part of the issue. Sonos does have the means to test things before they release it. The messed up here, but what if, and it could be a big if, a simple network issue is actually causing it.So I would like to see which types of networks have the most issues:I use Unifi, with half my speakers hardwired to my network. Gateway, switch and AP. No mesh. No wireless speakers:Arc + Sub + Ones LR RR, 2-Fives, Connect S15, Amp, and another single One.All the bold devices are hardwired and I have had no issues with the update. the volume control was sloe o respond at first, but its fine now. I have no problem grouping.Went to a friends house with a Playbar and a couple Fives. Connected to his system with no issues. Spent four hours there and not one ins
Since the update everything is a MESS. I have a lot of money invested in this system that, aside from minor annoyances, was working TREMENDOUSLY years. Since that fateful day a couple of weeks ago, it’s been an nightmare on every level. If it was just a clunky app, I could handle it; but, it’s actually made the entire system nearly unusable. WHEN WILL THIS ALL BE STRAIGHTENED OUT?
Can I use just one era 300 for a small room for surround ,I have a beam 2
I’ve been a LOYAL customer for years with Sonos and own 14 sonos products. I just can’t run my head passed the fact you have made such a complete app overhaul without giving people a heads up this was happening. It was quite the shock when I did the update to see the complete change of the UX design and I feel totally betrayed by the company for it (it’s like you came into my living room and took away my freedom of choice).I have invested so much money into having an easy to use system with no over the top app interface - it was what made you classy, modern and minimalistic. You have gone way to far the opposite way to mainstream - there is no difference between other apple app interfaces to yours… you can’t actually distinguish when you are in your app or the apple setting menu. From a designers point of view, this is a very bad thing. To gain the trust back of your customers, please make the previous S2 app available on the apple store (the new update as S3) and let your customers dec
Your latest app update (May, 2024) has SERIOUS user drawbacks, and lacks basic functionality that your previous version(s) had.A (non-exhaustive) list of problems I encountered were:• No Scroll-bar button for long playlists or folder navigation• No time-scroll bar for currently playing songs• No ability to add music to the current queue• No ability to select all files in a folder• No Ability to play from the Folder view• Non-intuitive interface (compared to previous versions)• Constant inability to find system without restarting app several times• No Alarm function• Loss of all previous playlist content - Lists were still there, but were empty• Hidden Personal Folders optionWith the amount of missing / forgotten / changed content that was published I could venture to guess that either your Quality Assurance (QA) Team is woefully understaffed / underfunded, or a Director (or VP) thought they understood Agile and pushed for too-soon publishing date of an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) with
I just updated to the new IOS Sonos app, and I cannot find where/how to access the “Music Library” stored on my Mac computer. it was visible and working before the update.
Long story short, trying to add another Beam to my existing system. Tried wired, wireless, factory reset etc etc. Fails every time at different stages. Managed to get through to support chat after a while and half way through ended up closing the page by mistake 😭It is a gen 1 beam but already have 2 added previously without any issues. Just wondering if it’s an app issue or a beam issue. thanks David
Let’s travel back into the past about a month ago. I have been a Sonos customer since 2020 after leaving Bose after decades of being a customer.I have been happy for the most part until you decided to update.I use to enjoy movies and television on my Arc, Sub, and two Era 100 (paired) which connected to my 65 Sony Bravia - it was mind blowing. Now each component pairs as an additional room within a room, one can’t be found (have factory reset at least 4 times). One Word: Frustration Please get it fixed soon! Otherwise, please take back your useless $2,000 plus system, and I will return to Bose. They had my consumership for twenty years, you’ve had it for four years, and I am already considering leaving you. One Unhappy Customer in Canada ( I say one, but we both know, it’s much greater .
I have turned off auto updates and reinstalled the old version of the sonos app, the one that actually functions. I have done this 3 days in a row now, but somehow sonos is still updating to that dysfunctional new update. Why is disabling auto update not working?
Cannot connect to my phone with the green light flashing.
Hi there, I am using Sonos in a commercial setting with Soundtrack Your Brand. We have been having an issue where once a playlist plays through once, the music will just stop. I can’t find a way to loop or queue new playlists through the app. Has anyone experienced anything similar or know a fix to this?
Why new application is such a disaster? Why no answer to call made ? because 60 minutes of delay to have someone on the phone, who will wait?Funny part is that the sonos one is playing music But the disaster application do not detect the system... which is working!AwfulWhat are you doing to solve this?Is there anyone behind digital screens?
Hello, I want to connect my technicks turntable to a beam2 speaker. I bought the Pro-Ject Optical Box E Phono Black adapter, to connect the turntable output to the preamp, and the digital output with the sonos digital to hdmi adapter cable, and it doesn't work. However, if I connect the input of the turntable to the phono input of the pro-ject converter, and the line out output to another fiber converter, it does work for me. Could someone explain to me why the digital output of the project is not recognized by the beam and that of the other fiber converter? (The fiber converter that works is one from Aliexpress for €10.)
Since the new app update my sub won’t now add to the app or system. I can’t remove it because it’s not registered. It seems the app has thrown it off
I've recently gotten into Vinyl with a turntable that does not come with a built-in pre-amp. I am connecting to an Era 300 via the plug-in adapter. This is creating quite a congested atheistic with cables all over the place. I think a neater solution would be to have a pre-amp with Sonos connectivity built in. That way you can direct RCA connection streamed to all Sonos devices. Aside from the Victrola which has mediocre reviews, is there any other way to connect a turntable to the Sonos ecosystem with minimal cables?
Since the update, I cant seem to add radio stations, or add my own music, I can voice control the speakers that have that function.
HiI have an issue which I can’t seem to rectify despite all the solutions I’ve tried.Basically, My devices are using wifi and I would like to have both the Beam and Roam playing at the same time so that I can take the Roam to another room or even outside and still listen to anything being played. However, when the Roam is powered on, it picks up what is being played on the Beam but then the Beam cuts out. Similarly when I power off the Roam, the Beam comes back into play.I can’t get the two to play simultaneously.I have changed my network recently, and all the devices are attached to the same network.I’m not yet too familiar with my fairly new Sonos setup and am guessing that the solution might be quite simple, but I am having problems trying to get these working together.Has anyone had a similar issue please ?
Just hooked up a Sonos Amp with a couple Sonance architectural ceiling speakers. Sounds like absolute garbage. I had an am/fm alarm clock back in the 80’s that sounded better. What gives?
Firstly I should say I am not good at computer gobbledygook.I mostly used my Sonos system to listen to my extensive Music Library that’s stored on a Macmini. The only other features I used it for were, bedtime listening to classic.fm with sleep timer and a radio alarm in the morning.Recently my Sonos system became unusable, after the update of doom.I understand that going back to S2 Is not possible on Mac OS.Are there any third party controllers compatible with my many Sonos devices ( 6 speakers, 2 Amps, and Boost). We use Apple phones, Apple tablets and Macminis, MacBooks, Our music library is iTunes. Is there a way of making use of the Sonos junk with my library?Any suggestions welcome, I am retired and built up my music system think it would last me out but now Sonos seem to have abandoned me, it appears to be so much junk. I am NOT technically minded.
Close attention to detail by developers 😜😭😅😎
I’m seeing updates listed by Sonos that my system can’t find yet, I’ll keep checking back to get them as soon as possible instead of my usual overnight update.https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/release-notes-for-sonos-software-updatesCurrent software version 80.01.07 (Android)80.01.10 (iOS)Release date: 5/21/2024 In this update:Support for the all new Sonos Roam 2. Improved VoiceOver support, allowing for easier navigation and control on the Now Playing Screen, System View, Output Selector, Queue, Volume Sliders, and Add Product. Improved TalkBack support for the Now Playing Screen, System View, and Add Product. Improved Local Music Library playback of folders. Added the ability to Search for content to use with an Alarm. Improved system connectivity for Boost and portable products in sleep mode. Fixed issues with Add Product that resulted in incomplete registration, a need to sign in again, or inability to confirm a product PIN. Fixed an issue with enabling Surround
I can’t see any mention of a (NAS) Music Library in the promotional content for the new Sonos App. There is plenty of mention of “favourite Music Services” though. Please please tell me that, unlike the new search, support for NAS music libraries is not being further sidelined? This is one of the things that drew me to Sonos in the first place (in 2008 FYI).Joel
