No doubt somebody else has already posted this, but I didn’t find anything doing a search. Anyway, this looks interesting:https://www.macrumors.com/2024/08/14/sonos-bring-back-old-app/
Ace… needs to be able to connect to Any home theater receiver. Make a difference in our lives and make a Bluetooth transmitter device that plugs into receiver headphone jack. Stop being overly competitive. Not a good look.
Sonos managed to change an easy to manage app into a complex maze. It is a downgrade. Please fix it. I knew how bad it was. Unfortunately pressed the upgrade by mistake…. I am paying.
I thought it would be useful to have a comprehensive list of issues with the new app that have been reported in these forums. Ideally Sonos would have something to track these issues eg. Apple Feedback Assistant, Microsoft Feedback Hub, Bugzilla, etc. Unfortunately they don’t. To kick things off, I created the following list using Perplexity. Please add missed issue or correct issues misreported. Please DON’T add comments on how upset you are, or how great the new app is, or engage in dialog. There are plenty of posts like that already. Just post a one line description of the problem you know of. I hope we can create a comprehensive list of issues in one easy to read thread that would be useful to the community and the dev’s. Playlist and Queue Management IssuesUnable to Add Songs to Queue: Users cannot add songs to a playlist or queue. The only available option is "Replace Queue," with no ability to insert a song, "play next," or "add to end of queue" (Sonos Community). Play
So a big thanks also to “helpingiskind” @HelpingIsKind So as far as windows users go, sorry not sure about iOS users here, but the crucial things after updating the windows app for W10+, you need to turn on “Advanced Sharing” in windows, and make sure that your music library whether it’s stored on a NAS or just an ext usb drive, or internal drive is added to your library. So this is the example that helpingiskind gave:Please right-click on the Music Folder > Properties > Advanced Sharing > Add Sonos Wireless HiFi System to Read/Write:Then go to Sonos settings on your laptop and add “My Music folder” and it will sync. Because the android app is terrible, I rolled back to the version 78 and found the .apk for that and then the app works like it’s used to and marries to the W10 controller app nicely….which has also caused the update issues along with the apps for android/apple to be very annoying! Good luck and lets hope the next update from Sonos makes things nice n easy for ev
I have a Synology NAS with my Music Library (13.8K tracks, all FLAC, very obsessively tagged and Album Arted over about 15 happy years with Sonos) on it. The Library contains 167 Compilation albums with some 3.6K tracks. Compilation albums have the Album Artist listed as Various Artists and each track has its own Artist. Regular albums have the headline artist in both Album Artist and Contributing Artist fields, so the headline artists appear in both the Album Artist and Contributing Artist lists in the Sonos app, but artists who are only on Compilations only appear in the CA list.It has always frustrated me that there has never been a Search facility for the CAs despite the fact that when the Library is indexed the CA list is always populated, which is indicated by the fact that, when you toggle the “View Contributing Artists” switch in the Music Library menu the CA list appears immediately without having to re-index.I have, since the May 7 ambush, multiple versions of the Controlle
Hi,...I have 7 SONOS speakers: 4 Play:1, 1 Play:3, 1 Play:5 and 1 Arc. I connected a Technics turntable to the Play:5.Everything has always worked very well. I applied the update in S2 last year, without any problem.I did not want to apply the last big update of May 2024, seeing the catastrophic return of users, neither on my Mac, nor on my iPhone nor iPad.TIME 1 - After this crappy update was made available, my system continued to work, with access to my Synology NAS, as it had for the last 5 years.TIME 2 - In July, on my iPhone, I no longer have access to the settings and the SONOS application requires me to apply the update. Which I did not do.TIME 3 - Early August, on my iPad, I no longer have access to the settings and the SONOS application requires me to apply the update. Which I did not do.TIME 4 - Mid-August (today), I no longer have access to the settings on my Mac, the only possibility of streaming music on all my SONOS speakers is the SONOS application which requires me to a
My TVs don’t even see my Sonos devices any longer with the new update. Really regretting this unreliable system that Sonos seems intent on making worse.
A few users have asked after an SSD-only NAS and I’ve commented that such a thing does not exist in the consumer space. I was mistaken. Voilà, the Asustor Flashstor 5 model FS6706T!https://www.asustor.com/en/product?p_id=79 Barebones unit is $450 and accepts up to six SSDs. Add 4TB M.2 PCIe 3 SSDs for about $225 a pop.
I have been waiting on a response to the alarm not working now the app doesn't open? Can we not just switch to the prior app?
This may have been mentioned before, but a quick search didn’t find anything.Note first that I’m still running S1. (I know, lucky me.) It’s possible that the same will apply to S2.Starting a few weeks ago, I noticed that many of the SXM stations I had added to my SONOS Favorites were no longer displaying cover art and song/artist/album info. Oh, well, at least the music was still playing. This morning I happened to select one of my SXM SONOS Favorites directly from the SXM “Browse” interface, and suddenly the missing info was displayed. Switched back to the Favorites selection; still missing there. So I deleted all of the SXM stations from my SONOS Favorites list and re-added them, and now I know who’s singing.
HelloFor those of you who purchased the Sonos Ace Headphones I hope you’re enjoying them as much as I am 😊! To be totally honest I do have one nic-pic…and that is Color options. I was hoping Sonos would offer the Ace in different colors similar to those of the Roam/Roam 2. Although “Sunset” (the color on far right) may be a bit overboard for the Ace. Or at least offer the latest color available for the Move 2…Well, that didn’t happen upon this initial release of the Ace. We got the (IMO) the generic “cookie cutter” Black and Soft White. 😓However, if Sonos follows trend as it has with its other portable products (i.e. Roam and Move) we may see additional colors later with this initial Ace release; or in an Ace 2 release (if that comes to be).To be clear I have no knowledge of an Ace 2 being in the Sonos pipeline; so don’t’ go starting rumors of such in the community. 😈 😕Moving on… I do have a couple of suggestions/ideas that may be to your liking. Drum roll….how about going Panda wi
I have a hearing problem that I wear Hearing Aids for.Does anyone know if/how I can configure my LG OLED Smart TV connected to a SONOS Beam, Subbase Woofer and a Pair of Play 1, configured for surround sound, so that the audio can be listened to on a Pair of SONOS Ace Headphones, and simultaneously by the rest of the family who are also listening on the SONOS Surround?Danny
Everything about Sonos now is utter rubbish. even signing into this it said my password was wrong so when i reset it I used one that I thought worked and it said that I cant use a current one..aaargh. Sonos cant even get that right.Went to listen to BBC radio 6 music this morning...forget it, still waiting….all kinds of unhelpful things appearing on my phone app. If anyone from sonos is reading this then you need to know, that unless you sort out these problems FAST your business will go bankrupt. Nobody I know who used sonos can now be bothered with it. It just does not work...station selection, volume controls, rooms dropping out...I could go on and on. Restaurants who are big users of these system, are abandoning it in droves. SONOS SORT IT!!!! You don’t have much time.
The New app doesnt seem to support Pinguin Radio, the main radio station (some "daughter" stations like Pinguin Classic are supported). This must be a mistake. Could Sonos please add Pinguin Radio?
Führt wahrscheinlich zu nichts?Funktioniert das denn mal? Irgendwann?
So, at what point do Sonos come clean and at least be transparent about what is causing the bulk of the connectivity issues? Surely after 3 months you must have a good idea, because if you don’t that’s even worse news. The reason I ask is, if there is any common thread that users could look into to help themselves, it might be useful information. If it can only be fixed in the Sonos code, fine, but an explanation of what’s gone wrong, why and then when you expect it to be mostly fixed would still help enormously. Technical silence, spin and empty promises are not the way to earn back the trust of your user base.
With either Apple Music or Amazon Music Unlimited I do not get perfect gapless playback. I say not perfect because there is not an actual gap instead there is something I would define as a “bump in the road”. Although this happens at every track change it is most apparent when the track change is during a loud passage. Looks like I can’t attach a video to demonstrate the issue. So if someone with the system Arc-Sub-ERA 300s could try the above example and report back I would love to hear what you hear. Try this link though.https://photos.onedrive.com/share/F9ECAB971E7E522D!1647?cid=F9ECAB971E7E522D&resId=F9ECAB971E7E522D!1647&authkey=!AOzf9ZCR57vHnbI&ithint=video&e=XTvtSS
This is the context menu when I hold down on an Amazon Music playlist. Why would this be? After trying it a few times it finally showed the expected menu options.
As a LONG time Sonos Dealer and a Luxury Residential Systems Integrator, I never even ONCE considered ANY Sonos competitors as a legitimate alternative, for myself, or for ALL my clients. Since the new app update this May, I’ve now been considering specifying ANYTHING BUT Sonos for all my ongoing projects. Any integrators out there with great feedback for Yamaha’s Musicast or Harmon’s Denon Heos? Is Bose even poised to strike with Sonos’s recent MASSIVE BLUNDER?
When is Sonos going to fix the mess it has created with its latest app update? The inventory of its shortcomings likely outrun the space provided here, but a couple of key cockups are:•it cannot find any of the playlists I trusted it to store for me over the past five years;•it offers no way to create new playlists;•it offers no way to save queues to make new playlists, although at this point the thought of investing time to create a new playlist that likely will be lost is too frustrating to contemplate. So far customer service to deal with the app ineptitude has amounted to promises of patchwork fixes somewhere in the future. What are we to do in the meantime? Hope that the same team responsible for the original mess will come up with a solution? That is extremely unlikely. The best gauge of future actions is past actions. Also extremely unlikely: continued use of Sonos equipment or its system.
Hi Sonos Community,I just had a very frustrating week trying to get my SONOS PLAY:1 speakers to reconnect after I updated my home Wi-Fi with a new modem. I followed all the SONOS troubleshooting instructions (e.g. resets, turning the modem off/on, trying the older app) and read all the community topics, but nothing worked.Today, I finally got my PLAY:1 speakers reconnected by factoring in one vital step that the SONOS troubleshooting does not include. Remove other devices on your home Wi-Fi network prior to reconnecting your SONOS PLAY:1 speakers. Before removing the other devices, type in your modem ip address in the search bar of your computer and log in to see what devices are using the network. Systematically disconnect them from the home Wi-Fi (e.g. Smart TV, tablets, computers) until you’re left with just your phone with the SONOS app and connected to the home Wi-Fi. NOTE: I did not reset my modem. I left it on and it was connected all the time. Do the factory reset with your PLA

August 10, 2024. This issue is now resolved. The SiriusXM Skill will now link with Alexa app. Some who use SiriusXM as a streaming service on Sonos may have noticed (or will notice) that Alexa when asked to play a SiriusXM music genre will say the following…To listen to SiriusXM go to the Alexa mobile app and link your account. Unfortunately, the Alexa Skill to link SiriusXM to Sonos and use the Alexa Voice assistant is broken within the Alexa Mobile app.. Upon attempting to link the SiriusXM Skill the following message appears...Unable to link the skill at this time, try again later (or something to that affect)Don’t panic! You can still add SiriusXM as a streaming service to Sonos and select your music genre and direct it to a Sonos speaker just as you would Apple Music, Spotify or any other streaming service. You just can’t request Alexa to play SiriusXM at this time.I’ve been in phone conversations with tech support for Alexa and SiriusXM. Neither seem to be aware of the issue alth
