I’ve just tried to use Sonos but the app has gone back to the September version on both my phone and tablet(Android) I have reinstalled but still on version 80.09.04 and my music library has disappeared. I have the latest software installed on both devices. This is so frustrating. Any ideas before I bin Sonos for good?
I have been meaning to get the Sonos era 300 pair, for my living and entertaining area. The intention is to use the pair and a sub as a speaker system for parties and hosting majorly, I also have a separate TV area where I can shift the era’s as surrounds whenever required. Now, I have two options for placement, attaching design drawings for the same below, since the entertaining area doesn't have too many walls, I am struggling a bit with the placement. I will also buy a sub to give the era's more oomph when throwing parties. It would be a great help to get some opinions before finalising the drawing with my designer.I am also attaching a third drawing which gives area specifications, it's an L-shaped room that is 30 ft x 11 ft 6 in (if only including the entertainment area) the living area extends in that L shape adding another 11 ftPSI will be wall-mounting both speakers. I have a few questions regarding the same - I am more inclined towards the second placement since in the first pla
I have updated to the Apps/Controller/Firmware. The Music library indexing on my NAS now looks very strange. There are duplicate entries for many Albums. The Songs are not ordered correctly within the albums. It seems to be related to the fields for Album Artist and Contributing Artist though that is not conclusive.I have my files organised into:\\Sonos\Music\Artist\Album\Songs(with Track No. at beginning i.e. “01 Song Name” ).This has worked for many years now.Can anybody help with a description on how the the files and details within the MP£ files should be done or is this just another bug introduced by Sonos within their software? Will they ever get a release right! Also the advanced settings for the Music Library are missing from the IOS app. On the PC I have the Group Albums by Album Artist set. Sort Songs by song number, Contributing Artists is not ticked.Any help would be appreciated.Chris

My Music Library (on a NAS drive) is not accessible (again - it was back for a few days in late October) from my iPhone/iPad Sonos app.I can see and access it from my MacOS app (and my playlists), and am able to play albums, playlists from MacOS, but the library just isn’t visible from the iPad or iPhone.I’ve tried rebooting all the devices, and checked that the apps are up to date. I tried deleting and re-entering the share path to the share on both the iPhone and iPad://IAN-MEDIA-SERVE/Public/Shared Music (no uername/passwored needed)(this is the same path used on the MacOS App).but I get the error message “Unable to Connect - check the username and password”There is no username and password for this path ….. .
Have had my Sonos system in my house for 7years, and the recent poor app has been annoying but is it getting worse? Yesterday, attempted to ask Google nest to play the radio station on the pair of Play 3 speakers in the kitchen and was told there wasn’t any devices.. Looked at my Sonos app and had a blank screen saying “Not Connected”, as in no devices connected. Thought, it was due to an update in the app, so reset 4 out 5 Sonos devices and reconnected to my Sonos app. All was good again, and hoped that things would get better within the Sonos ecosystem system!? This morning, opened the Sonos app…… Not Connected….? Really Sonos? My Playbar and one of my Play3 has a wired Ethernet connection and have recently stopped over to Alta Labs AP’s. i loved my Sonos system, but if this is going to be a daily occurrence, it’s time to bin the lot!
Sonos, your software sucks. I have 20k worth of your products, you are the best speaker system company in the history of stereos, and you can’t get your software together. Please do better. I say this to all my friends and rental guests. I don’t think this makes them run out to buy your products. If there is a human reading this you can tell I am a very frustrated customer who feels burned after committing to your brand.
I am setting up a multi-room set-up in the Master Bath of our new house. I am going to have one in-ceiling speaker in the wet room. This speaker needs to be weather resistant and have stereo inputs. The best speaker I have found for this application is the Monitor Audio AWC265-T2. It is an 8 Ohm speaker with two tweeters to provide both left and right sound. The wet room is about 6 feet by 9 feet with a sloped ceiling and a lot of glass (two big windows and a wall of glass). The other part of the set-up is the part of the bathroom with the sinks and is 6 feet by 11 feet. I want to use 2 Sonance in-wall speakers in that room. They would be set 8 feet off the ground, 2 feet from the ceiling on the short wall which is only 6 feet wide. A couple of questions. Are the tweeters pivoting in the Sonance in-wall speakers? Can I use remote volume switches between the amp, that will be the source for all 4 speakers (Amp will see the Monitor Audio speaker as 2) and the speakers so that I
Help needed…Hello Team, So I am currently renovating our house. I have been a Sonos customer for a long time, through the good times and the bad. Now one option I am considering is sticking with Sonos and adding an Amp with six architectural in ceiling speakers for casual listening and parties (I love music all the time everywhere but am not an audiophile). The ceiling is vaulted and so the four speakers along the wall will be angled by the pitch towards the stairs/kitchen space. The two end speakers will be angled inwards also on opposing angles which all meets in the middle at about 4m height. Room is 11 x 4 metres roughly. Hard floors, hard ceilings, hard surfaces. Questions/Help asked:1. 6 or 8 inch? (will be a sub in the bench seat). The 6 inches can be tilted and the 8 cannot but As I’m using for music firing it straight down isn’t necessary I assume and there will be no fixed listening position due to the multi purpose nature of the space. 2. 4 or 6 speakers?3. Room Placement- d
I just wanted to post these issues I’m having with my Music Library which are driving me crazy. I have hundreds of albums and I primarily use my Sonos system to play my own music rather that stream from one of the providers. Here are my problems:Why is there no grid view of my albums? A grid view looks so much better that this list view. Maybe you can ask Apple how they get the grid view in Apple Music if you are unsure of what needs to be done to achieve this. Still no alphabet at the side to allow me to jump to say, my Yahoo album. It’s painstaking to scroll through an entire list to get to an album close to the end of the list. Compilation albums are appearing as individual songs in album view. Many of my albums are compilation and this is unacceptable. It’s rubbish, to be honest. Please, Sonos, address these matters so that I can start enjoying my music system again.
I have a rectangular-shaped finished basement rec room about 20-ft. wide by 60-ft. long. There are 4 ceiling-recessed, passive speakers wired into a Denon amp located at one end of the room, and TV on the other end. I want to integrate this into a Sonos "surround sound" system - I put surround system in quotes as I'm not clear that I need to create a true surround system, but basically, I want to watch TV and hear the sound on a soundbar at the TV and on the 4 passive speakers, and still be able to play other content. I assume this will require a Sonos Amp that I can do a 1-to-1 replacement with the Denon amp, and a Sonos Sound Bar (thinking about the Arc Premium). I further assume I need to run a long HDMI cable from the TV to the Sonos Amp at the opposite end of the room? Is it possible to set this up, and is there specific guidance available to tell me what I need to purchase, how to set it all up, and connect the components? I've read multiple articles on the Sonos web site and a h
Cover art stored in flat files aren't bring displayed in the current app, and I can't create my own playlists from my library of music stored on a Nas box
Hello everyone,Thought you might enjoy this record console made by Frailey Woodworks that features Sonos equipment (stereo pair Play5s, Beam, ProJect T1 turntable and Sub Mini)This Google Photos album shows additional photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZHXGNaQkJxZEXvR36
It’s not clear to me what the best way is to report bugs, and perhaps get them fixed. Many people have been complaining about the bug that was introduced over a month ago that makes it almost impossible to use sonos to play “albums” where track have different artist assignments. The new version 16.3.3 does not fix this.Is there anything we can that more productive than grumbling on this forum?(Not that this is a bug in the device firmware, not in the controller software).
So far, I am having the same troubles as discussed in the following topic:https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-and-music-services-229131/connecting-to-updated-wifi-on-new-app-factory-reset-6903935?tid=6903935&fid=229131This is happening since the new app version came in last May 2024, and I needed to move to another network. In fact, since last June, I am using my Sonos system wired. This is terrible when you buy a device that tells you that they sell “the best wireless sound ever built”. Fortunately, only one device must be wired, as its own network do the rest.I contacted Sonos assistance, and they guided me to factory reset, then I could start all my devices wirelessly without worries. Indeed, this is exactly what I don´t want to do, as I would lose all my configurations and so on. They also told me this situation would be solved soon in a new update, but until now nothing changed. So, if I turn off the wired device, no Sonos work. If I try to guidance to update wifi, I stop
I have been a long time Sonos user I have 17 products. The new app is horrible and I am losing total functionality. I have so much invested, but I hate to go away. why does the new app sucks so bad? I mean it is unbelievable how different it was from the previous experience. It’s like they are trying to drive away customers
I am really disappointed the new Sonos speakers no longer include Google Assistant integration. It seems the legal battle about patents got so bad new products no longer include Google Assistant. I had a Roam die and they sent me the new version that does not include Google Assistant. I need home controls in addition to music control. So Sonos voice is really sub par. I hope Google Assistant integration comes back.
As a loyal Sonos user for over 10 years, I have to say the latest updates have been incredibly disappointing. The app has become slower and more unresponsive, and the speakers themselves seem to lag behind commands. This is despite having a fast fiber-optic internet connection and relatively new smartphones. We’re no longer willing to support a system that seems to be declining in quality. And we’re not alone. Many long-time users are reporting the same frustrations with recent updates: sluggish performance, delays in responsiveness, and a generally worse user experience, even when the hardware and internet are more than capable. It feels like the once-reliable software development at Sonos has taken a back seat in recent years, which is baffling to those of us who once praised the system for its ease of use and stability. Another frequent complaint is the recurring incompatibility between new app versions and older speaker models. A while back, Sonos faced backlash for their plan to p
I recently upgraded to BT Fibre 900 with a new EE Smart Hub router. However since that happened I cannot get my Sonos Arc registered on the Sonos App and therefore no connection to the Sub. The Arc is showing as a connected device on the 2.4 Ghz component; the router has both 2.4 and 5 Ghz connected devices. The Arc is basically only working as an HDMI connected speaker to my main TV. The Sonos support person connected to my EE router and viewed my configuration and said without WiFi 2 compatibilty to the router the Arc would not register. Is this correct/What are my options?
Hey Sonos, could you consider of textile cushions for Sonos Ace to buy as replacements?Textile ear cushions, such as the Air Pods Max, provide much better ventilation for long time listening.
I appreciate there are probably some old threads about this but a) I can’t find them and b) they’re probably closed to new comments.I have an Arc and two Era 300s. The plan was to use the Eras for surround sound, but I was underwhelmed with the sound until I tried them as a stereo pair for music which I loved. So if that’s the way I use them, relying on surround from the Arc itself. But that’s left me with a worse surround setup than I intended. So… can I have both if I get one more Era 300?My room has an Arc on one wall by the TV and the Era speakers either side of the fireplace on another wall. I have an L-shaped sofa but what I want to do is add a third Era 300 and dynamically switch them as a stereo pair or as a surround for the Arc. Note that this means one of the speakers would be in either one of those configurations at any given time. In my diagram: stereo = black + blueSurround = orange + blueI wouldn’t have thought being able to change speakers like this would be such a rare
Hi guy,Hopefully someone can help.My set up is an arc, sub and amp with ceiling speakers. All works fine but I’ve added a stereo pair of era 100s to the mix. I’ve have grouped the era 100s to the home theatre set up but I’m expecting drop outs from the 100s. Is there anyway to stop the drop outs ? Do I remove the ceiling and amp from the home theatre set up and add the era 100s to the home theatre and group the ceiling speakers and amp as a stereo pair ?There must be a solution, I know you can’t add more than one pair of speaker to a set up but seen people add an additional pair and group them together.any ideas would be appreciated 👍🏻
I’ve just registered on the Sonos developer portal https://developer.sonos.com/ After signing in, there’s no option to create API keys. Am I missing something? The page only has the option to “Get Started” which takes you to the documentation.
