Controllers & Music Services

Are there any plans to correct the hideous app update? CRAZY for sonos to alienate its customers. maybe their pants have gotten to big and they just don’t give a crap. where to start, hum, volume controller is not responsive and jumps all over the place and with 10 speakers tied into the system it is a cluster. why were the volume indicating numbers removed from the volume controller? how am i supposed to tell if the 10 speakers are set at the same volume level without them with with the non-responsive volume controller? why was the timer removed? SONOS wake, your user in revolt. SONOS post whether you are listening or not. if it is time for me to look for a new sound system i would like to know now so that i can stop cursing you a thousand times day... love the company write-up on the update..the new app will be easier and better...liars...did they ask seasoned users to take part their little market research...no...some AH checked a box and got a raise...

Ich hatte Diverse Sender abgespeichert, jetzt sind sie zwar noch hier aber ich kann keinen einzigen abspielen! Kann ich wieder auf das alte System zurück? Moderator Note: Added translation by Google Translate- I had saved various stations, now they are still here but I can't play a single one! Can I go back to the old system?

This is for anyone who has Sonos speakers that want to upgrade from the old S1 app and system to the new S2 app.  I spent hours on the phone to support who may have been helpful in providing some knowledge on the Sonos system, but when trying to work with me to resolve my issue I ended up figuring it out myself.Sonos - iOS app for iPhone and iPad - version 80.00.08 as of 15th May 2024.I have two systems in my house, the new one had Sonos amps which I put on the new S2 app from day one so I knew that the system worked.  All my Play 1’s and Play 5s were on the old S1.   I also have a Sonos Beam and 2 Sonos 1’s (these are the tv ‘surround’ setup).First of all all my Play 5s were gen 1 so were not compatible with S2, the upgrade process on the app factory reset them and took them off the S1 app as the upgrade process apparently doesn’t work with them linked.  You then have to add them back into the S1 app one at a time. All my devices ended up needing several updates, not just one to get th

Listening to podcasts is now missing the skip forward or backward Xsecs. Also not saving the last position I left the podcast, it just starts again from the beginning

Hi - With the app update I can’t seem to turn off the alarm I set a couple of days ago (I won’t get into how unhappy I am that it wasn’t made clear that we’d lose this functionality). The help notes are saying to go to the web app and click on alarms from the select a music source pane - I’m on the web app but I can’t find any thing to click on. I’ve been trying for two days to figure this out…. Any help appreciated as I don’t want to wake up at 5:30am for the rest of my life.  Thank you!

My system worked until the sonos app was upgraded. (Orange to black icon)  An Ikea book shelf and ZP100 were upgraded and continue to work, but 5 products have become disconnected. Yes I've tried rebooting. Resetting, direct network connections and dhcp address allocations and downgrading (but downgrading capability has been removed) I have a bunch of sonos products with green flashing light that are  available to "connect" but can't register in the system.Any suggestion or do I throw them away?

Some songs from Apple Music just cannot play on Sonos app. Help

So, like every *PISSED OFF* Sonos user, I’ve been struggling to make my music on my NAS accessible to my Sonos system. I’ve now noticed (maybe with the most recent “update”) that I can now add my music library on the desktop app. Once I add it, it takes about 5-10 minutes to index, and then it will be visible on my phone. BUT After about 1 day, the music library disappears again and I have to re-add it. Anyone else finding this?

Your new app is terrible. What are you doing to fix it? I am about ready to dump Sonos. I have been a raving fan for many years but you have broken the system.

Where do I can change the wifi network in the sonos app? I called Sonos service center for 2 hrs!!  and disconnected by phone

I had to get a new iPhone. My old one got wet. I attempted to connect to my system after logging in to the app and it won’t find my system on the WiFi  network that it’s on. I check my wife’s phone and I works fine. I double checked the WiFi network and I have it right. Tried the chat service. They told me to call the 800#. 65 min wait.

Like many others, I’ve had issues with my music library (WD MyCloud NAS) randomly disappearing.  It’s seems to frequently occur when I take my Iphone or iPad out of Wi-Fi range and then return, causing the app to attempt to “find” the library again with random success.  On the other hand, the web app and/or the desktop app always has access to the library.  It probably doesn’t help that I have two Sonos systems (a Connect and a Port) in different locations so the app appears to take a lengthy time to reconnect to one or the other.Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?  I reset the app numerous times a day, with hit or miss success.  I’m not a tech expert, but it seems the problem resides in the design of the app where everything is run through the cloud.  Could this be a Sonos server issue or just a poorly designed app?

How do I roll back to previous version of app? I can’t even add a Sonos one to my setup without an hour of troubleshooting. I will never buy another Sonos product but I at least want to use what I have paid for lol

The new app does have a mind of it’s own. When I search for an artist and select an album the app chooses to play a ‘station’ of artists loosely similar to the one I wanted. It will play multiple tracks before it even gets to one from the selected artist and then it’s not a track on the album I wanted.  Does anyone have a solution?

Hi at all. I live in Portugal and I ask you when its possible to subscribe Sonos Radio HD in Portugal.  Thanks at all.

Just updated the Sonos app on my ipad, and do not see a way to link to my itunes music library. How can I do this?

Since the recent upgrades of the Sono software (OS X client and iPhone app) the system keeps losing the connection to my Music library.I have a Sonos boost which I was using for the library. The new app does not seem to see it anymore.

Until last month, we have listened to Italian radio station Radio 70 80 90 and Radio Deejay on our Sonos 1 system. We’re in the UK and learning Italian, so really enjoy listening and learning. However, a couple of weeks ago, after the system upgrade, we lost all our Italian stations and are now no longer able to access them. Does anyone else have the same problem and been able to fix it. We’ve tried adding the stations but that hasn’t worked. And searching by country shows no stations at all for Italy!Help!!

Today I returned my era 300 because of the app, I tried to contact customer service and no one called me. how awful.

The current update does not function on either one of our Motorola G7 phones. Hangs on splash screen, eventually pops a program not responding wait or close message. Selecting wait will finally open the program. Have restarted phones, uninstalled-reinstalled, cleared caches. No joy. Android 11 OS. Also the Mac version won’t function on my iPad, but that is a separate issue. Requiring iOS 16 is stupid. My iPad will not accept that operating system so I have a virtually bricked system on all devices.A quick search shows that I am far from the only one having this or similar problems. This is entirely unsatisfactory.

New app is absolutely terrible.  Very unresponsive and reliable.  Clunky for sure.  I just turned a friend to sonos (another one) and the first comment was poor app!   I rather go back to older version.

Hi, Last night I lost half the speakers in my home Sonos system. What I have:Era 3002 - RoamsMoveBeam2 - Sonos One 1 - Sonos SLSYMFONISK - Picture FrameSubwooferBoostWhat I lost:2 - Sonos One 1 - Sonos SLSYMFONISK - Picture Frame1 - RoamBoostI did the factory reset to re add the speakers and it worked for a second and then disappeared. For some strange reason, they started to play music not from my list when I manually hit the play button on the speakers. This exact same thing happened at my girlfriend business sSnos system about a month ago. Eventually it fixed itself after a frustrating 2 weeks. My question is will my system fix itself as well? I already spent 2 hours this morning trying to troubleshoot with all the tips on the website and tips I found on Reddit with no avail. All these issues started happening after the launch of the revamped app. We had no issues for over 5 years until the app was updated. Please help!!Much appreciated.

Apple M3 Sonoma 14.5 Works on my iphone just fine. I’ve tried:Turning firewall on and adding sonos app to the list Turning firewall off and leaving it like thatThey are both on the same wifi. My 5g and 2.4ghz are under the same name, so it pushes to whatever the devices is asking fore. The app fails to connect over and over and over. It’s finally working fine for me on my phone, but MacOS won’t find soNOs.S Sonos works fine via AirPlay2.

Is there a page somewhere that lists by what dates the features you TOOK AWAY will be restored? Including NAS-based music library in search results? Ability to re-index NAS-based music library? Returning the alphabetical side navigation to speed movement through the music library?

It looks to me like the new app was actually designed and built for IOS. Corners of surfaces/views are far to rounded, theres no navigation drawer, no toolbar, no bottom, sheet, snackbar, floating action button etc standard UI components that Android users are use to. Anyone else on Android feel this way? Also some of the design choices are weird, the mini player/now playing screen bottom corners are rounded they should be straightned out so they blend in to the navigation bar, and why the mix of circles and square images looks awful to me especially in grids.
