Controllers and Music services

Hey Sonos users!  I am writing for the first time and with some fear whether it is a lack of functionality or my inability, but choosing a new artist in apple music that I do not know, it is difficult for me to choose the album that I could choose.  the chronology of the release of the records would be helpful.  what do you think about my problem? Greg (a satisfied user of a 12-element sonos system) 

So the update today has given me cause to renew my absolutely awful relationship with TruePlay. I’ve had Sonos gear for a couple of years. Every time I have tried to use TruePlay has been an absolute nightmare. 9/10 tunings sound utterly awful, like truly terrible, thin, sibilant, metalic.I have to go through all sorts of contortions, scanning parts of the room and not others, different devices until finally I get something passable. And even then I ALWAYS have treble set to -10 and would go lower if I could.These are expensive speakers. TruePlay almost ruins them. I am not alone in this. A bit of googling uncovers others with the same issue. I just can’t understand how Sonos can accept such an erratic EQ as the only EQ option apart from a simple bass/treble.It could be remedied quite easily. Either a better EQ (6 bands would be enough) and let us choose manual EQ instead of TruePlay. Or at least give us some trueplay options, that is, let us choose say TruePlay warm, Trueplay crisp, T

Hi, folks. I have a few Sonos devices and have overall been very happy with the system. But I do find one bug/limitation extremely annoying. It seems like if you have “too many” files in a local music library, Sonos just can’t cope with it, and shows “No selections are available” any time you try to use it. You have to delete some files to make your library usable again.I don’t use streaming services. I only play my own music, that I own. It’s pretty ridiculous that I have to delete parts of my library or move them to places where Sonos can’t see them (and so I can’t play them on Sonos!), just because Sonos can’t write proper database code or something. I've seen discussions of this problem before, for years, and always assumed this would get fixed with a regular update because it’s such a ridiculous limitation. But I’m starting to lose patience (and would like to be able to buy more music!)My library isn’t even *that* huge, anyway. I’m sure some folks have more music than me. I seem t

Sonos app seems to be draining a lot of battery while my iPad is idling. It says 2 min on screen but 23h 19m background. Weird thing is I disabled the background app refresh for Sonos specifically.this has both happened while the iPad was at home at same Wi-Fi as Sonos and away on another Wi-Fi. I have submitted a diagnostic at number 412593457. I need my Sonos app to not kill the battery while idling. 

I have the Arc w/ 2 gen 3 subs and 2 One SL’s and a Beam in another room. I don’t have access to an Apple product for Trueplay anymore and wanted to know what is the best Apple device to buy for Trueplay? Thank you. 

I have been using my Sonos products with S1 Controller as I have a Play 5 that isn’t compatible with S2 app so I cannot migrate. The Play 5 is a perfectly good speaker, working fine, and I don’t see why I should pay to replace something that is working fine. All good for months and months.Today I try to start the S1 app and I get the attached, which I cannot dismiss other than close. I can no longer play any Sonos device. What have you done Sonos to the S1 controller app, and how can I resume using my system as it was yesterday. 

Is there a way to set up a master favorites list in the Sonos app?  Or if this already exists, can you tell me how to access it or which feature it is?Right now, my favorites come from multiple sources … youtube mixes … sirius radio stations … and playlists from Apple Music.  I often see these listed together in ‘recently played’, but they can drop off there if I play other things and don’t come back for a while.What I’d like to do is be able to pin certain items to a master list that only changes if I change it.  Any help appreciated and cheers!

Hi there, I've had my Beam for 6 months or so, love it, but when searching for music to play thru the app that I have in folders on my phone it doesn't have a search function for actual folders. I find there's no real organisation when my files show up also, it's not alphabetical or date order and I can never find stuff I want to play. The app just seems to randomly list my music, is Sonos going to add this feature or can I do something to make searching for music easier?Cheers

About a month ago, every time I left the house and returned home, I have to reauthorize my AppleMusic account to access my music and my Sonos playlists.  Looking at the conversations, this is a common issue with a resolution recommendation that seems to not make sense.  Now that ipod OS 12.5 is not supported, I cannot even reauthorize my account.  How can I access my Sonos playlists created from my Apple Music account?  Why not simply support the older OS?

Hi,Like the title says :My Sonos Five stereo pair cuts out when receiving low volume from TV on line in. It’s a real pain. I see other people have this issue but haven’t found a solution, I have played with compression and delay to no avail.Can anyone help? Kind regards, L8MAX

Did anyone noticed the following: SONOS playback can now be controlled from the lock screen, of course without AirPlay playback through another music app, by its own software.Was it iPadOS 15.6 or the SONOS 14.12 software?

I am using a 27” iMac.  It’s a nearly 10 year old screen, but it has plenty of pixels. So it seems unreasonable that some of the text on the desktop controller is too small / indistinct to read, and can’t be enlarged.As I get older, use glasses etc, I can still read the song titles, but I find the artist names underneath are completely illegible. It doesn’t help that they are presented as grey on black. This is particularly annoying when listening to playlists.Could we get an option to increase text size? At the moment if I want to see who is playing I have to right click on Info and Options (where the text is still pretty small, but not tiny, and it’s a lighter colour text so clearer.I’ve been using Sonos since it first came out. Not everyone can be young and with 20/20 vision!Thanks for listeningNigel Thomas

I purchased my 1st Sonos product today (play 1) and have it set up except I can’t get my iTunes account added to the Music Library.  It is asking for my “computer name” and I only use my iPhone because my laptop is outdated.  Is this possible to set up this way?  And If I have to use my laptop, how do I find the computer name? Thanks in advance for any help!  I am not very computer savvy!

Will Sonos net still be using 2,4 after this new firmware with 5 GHz support? And how to select channel?

I have the Sonos move and I also compared it to the Bose portable smart speaker. The Bose app allows you to control the audio EQ while using the app and easily switch between wifi or bluetooth and turn off the speaker using the remote.  Another frustration with the Sonos app is that I can’t even see what percentage of battery is left when I’m on bluetooth. I know this is a wifi first speaker but since they added bluetooth, they should update the app functionality.  Does anyone know how to see the percentage of battery life on a Sonos Move when using bluetooth mode? Are there any 3rd party apps that provide the ability to control the power, switch between wifi and bluetooth, control EQ and show battery usage on while on bluetooth?  Thanks

Hi.I have a Canadian Sonos account but bounce back and forth between Brasil and Canada. I have Sonos gear in both countries. I know I can purchase Sonos HD Radio with a Canadian credit card and play it in Canada. But will it continue to work with that account when I return to Brasil, or will it be geoblocked according to my IP address or by another locator method?Thanks.

Looking at all your Sonos Radio stations and you have a category of Christian, but unlike every other music service out there you don’t play popular Christian or Worship Music.  You have a channel called Grace with a sub-name of Crossover Praise which is just pop music that might have a positive message.  I wish you would add a modern praise station that is consistently pure Christian music.  Examples are SiriusXM the Message or Pandoras Today’s Christian Hits Radio or Spotify Best of Live Worship.  Its almost insulting to think someone thinks the music played is what poeple are looking for under Christian Music.  

I recently purchased an Apple Watch an was surprised, that there is no official app to control Sonos from the Watch. I just wanted to add my Feedback, that I miss that feature and would rather not rely on a 3rd party product to have that feature.

A music video, whether on YouTube or another video medium, sounds better with energy and punch than if I listen to it on Spotify.does sonos apply different equalization for video and another one for music streaming?I enjoy more when I listen to the songs from a video because they are heard with more energy and more punch and it is unfortunate how the music is heard from the bar if I use music that I have on my cell phone or from Spotify, my Sonos Five sounds better the music from Spotify that my Sono arc.Can Sonos improve this on the Sonos arc?

I have been taking my Play1’s with me on vacation for 6 years and hooking it up to the local WiFi. This year they installed community WiFi guest network. With the way Sonos works with Guest Networks its not possible to connect. After doing some research I was able to get past the Guest Wifi limitation with a laptop and a router. The laptop will be used to connect to the Guest Network. The router will be used to connect your Sonos speakers. What you need to do is to create a Bridge Connection in the Internet settings between the WiFi and the Ethernet port on your laptop. Very straight forward. Search Network Bridge Connection on Google. This will turn your Ethernet port from a incoming port to outgoing port and allow the the Guest Network connection to be share through the Ethernet port. Once its setup login into the Guest Network on your laptop and connect the Ethernet Port to the router and setup your Sonos speakers as normal. Best part is the router can be used for all your wireless

Hi,I’ve read a number of posts here and pages on the Sonos site but I would love help confirming I’m understanding all of this.  I currently have two Play 1 speakers. If I buy a turntable with a phono preamp built in, and a Sonos Port, I should be able to use those to play vinyl through my current Play 1 speakers, correct? Do I need any other hardware, besides cabling, to make that work?

Hi,I’ve got a QNAP TVS-671 where I have one folder which holds my audiobooks and music in 4 sub folders. I link those 4 folders using the Sonos controller app from my laptop. The laptop is connected to the network with an ethernet cable. There are a bunch of Sonos Play 1 and a Sonos Playbar in the network.So under “Music Library” → Folders  I see 4 folders one of them is “music”.One day I see that in the music library the music folder has no entries and “No selections are available” is shown. As I had this issue I called support and they asked me to use a different folder and so I created a new one and moved all my files step by step over to a new folder. It took me 3 days to go through all the indexing and finally I had it working. Then I made some changes to a few files, about 30 of them and in the next morning I see that the whole index is gone. “No selections are available” was again shown in the music folder of the music library - no errors in the controller (Help → Errors Log) -

Hi All, Is anyone else's app not showing what the audio output is when on the volume control screen? It's only showing in the system > about my system section. I'm sure it was still showing after the June update.
