Been using Sonos for 10+ years. Have large system, mostly older play1s, play5s and 2 playbars….all over the house in 10 zones…Occasionally get usual drop outs….but usually quickly fixed. However, this evening, my sonos system has dropped/lost BOTH of my playbars.Never had any issues with either. One has white light on, can’t reset, no sound. The second has sound but can’t see it in the system/app….and won’t reconnect to app.Have tried multiple resets/system and router reboots/reconnect….nothing works.WTF????NOTHING has changed on my home wifi set up….everything else including speakers much further away from the router still working fine.Very suspicious that both playbars have lost connection in the same day!?!?!Thoughts/advice??
I have google the reason for this a few times. My outdoor speaker randomly turns on at night and rather loudly. I never really found a reason until tonight…… I had a look at my surveillance camera right beside it and found that a gecko had been running all over the top of it! I tested it out and the softest of motion across the top of the speaker turns it on. Tomorrow we will try flipping the speaker upside down and see if that stops it from happening. This may be the answer to others who have had this experience!
Hi All. I have had my Sonos Arc for some time now now, would say about 7 months and it has recently developed a whole host of problems. Some of which have been fixed, but the there is huge problem with the audio popping and crackling while browsing content in Netflix. Currently using and Apple TV 4K, not the latest generation, the generation right before. And everyone I switch to preview another show or movie, the audio coming from the Arc pops or crackles. I have all hdmi 2.1 cables. And everything is set up correctly. So not sure what the problem is, just afraid that this will cause damage to the speaker long term if it keeps happening. I have already done a full reset for the system with a Sonos tech, and this did not fix the problem.
My indexing is no longer working properly. I have been using the same NAS share for about 15 years with Sonos but this just started happening a few days ago. I only see a small fraction of my folders and songs in my genres now. I removed the share a couple days ago and re-added but it has now happened again. Re-adding my share takes what seems hours. I also do not believe I am anywhere near the song ljnit as there are approximately 20K songs on the share. Also sometimes I will not see a folder but then can move it to another folder, re-index and then I will see it.
I’m having difficulties using my new Sonos Arc with Airplay. The Arc is connected to the same network as my phone, however it is not listed as an airplay device. Additionally, when I look at airplay settings in the Sonos App, the message ‘no compatible products found’ is listed under Airplay Compatible Products. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi and bluetooth which doesn’t seem to help. All other apps seem to be working with the Arc, for example Alexa and Spotify. Any ideas for how to get it working with Airplay? Thanks in advance!!
Until very recently I had my Sonos system connected to my NAS through a Raspberry Pi, as this got around the problem of having NFS on the NAS and Samba on the Sonos. It worked great.I had no issues playing music off of it, but when I added music to the server and re-indexed the new music was not showing up. I tried removing the music library and re-adding it, and I was not able to re-add it.Now when I try to add the music folder, it asks me for the username and password, which it accepts. I get a notice saying “music” is now set up on your Sonos system I see “Music Library - Indexing...” show up on my music sources window. On the Music Library Settings page, I see the spinning wheel with “Updating Music Library… Please wait.” After a few minutes, the “Music Library - Indexing...” disappears from the Select a Music Source tab. The Music Library Settings page still shows the spinning wheel (this continues indefinitely until I close and reopen the Sonos controller.I have no issues reachi
I just wanted to share a fix to an annoying problem that I kept encountering. My iPhone constantly kept disconnecting from the sonos system—I would be enjoying music in my room in the morning, and then I go out for some errands and for some reason when I come back my iPhone doesn’t connect to the Sonos system, having have to do the whole unplug your router thing. I’m sure some of you have encountered the same problem. I’ve found a solution that worked like magic. Go to your iPhone settings app and to the WiFi settings. Click on the info icon for whatever wifi you’re using at home for sonos, and disable the “private address” setting. This should get your iPhone back on the sonos system and prevent you from having have to unplug your router over and over again. I hope this helps anyone in the same situation. Happy listening!
Sorry, I am sure this has been asked before - but I can’t find an answer. Problem: I have six x MP3 files that I would like to attach to my Apple Music as a playlist. These are jingles so only small files. How do I install these files in Apple Music, so I can play in Sonos? Or do I install directly into Sonos? Grateful for easy guidance please? Thanks
My Sonos speakers are connected through my eero WiFi system, but the speakers keep disconnecting. I have tried unplugging the router (AT&T), unplugging the Sonos speakers from power, and unplugging eero access points, in various combinations, essentially rebooting the system. Nothing works. Each time I unplug the Sonos speakers and plug them back in, the speakers will work for a few minutes and then lose connection. This problem has rendered my Sonos speakers unusable. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks in advance.
Yet again the wonderfully robust and user friendly software messes up my day. The Sonos software and update process is a piece of junk, there’s imply no way it should behave as it is, the lack of attention to detail is astonishing. The hoops we have to jump through to get something working is absurd.Of course to complain means I’ll get asked lots of questions, I’ll be asked to unplug this and that, connect this or that to something else with a piece of cable and so on and so forth, all the burden is on the customer.I tried to update because the PS controller software insists that I update, yet it always fails. If I try the same update from my iPhone, again it fails. The iPhone fails (I think) because the controller is “not S2 compatible” whatever that means. The PC software is not S2 yet that also fails and the error code I get varies each time.e.g. “Error code 30: BRIDGE” or “Error code 1002: BRIDGE”.If these error codes mean something then why not pull down the message text and display
Hello, I have 2 sonos 1 stereo paid with a sub, 2 more sonos 1 stereo paired, a move and a roam. When skipping a track the move and roam will play right away. Sometimes the others will play right away then drop out then come back. Sometimes they just wont come on for 30 seconds or so. I have unplugged them all and restarted the router. That didnt help. I changed the router channel from auto to channels 1, 6, and 11. Non of those helped. Any ideas would be appreciated im prettu frustrated. Thanks for your time.
I upgraded my Sonos software from Sonos 1 to Sonos 2 yesterday and now my Sonos Amp which was fine, doesn't see my Samsung TV. All settings are correct but the TV is no longer showing in sources and when I wet up TV it doesn't see it. Connected to HDMI ARC and CEC enabled. I saw the are issues with the beam similarly, and I had issues yesterday on another TV, and although it couldnt see the TV it did suddenly start working Any ideas?
Starting about a week ago, I can no longer play Amazon Music on Pandora. Specifically:Everything seems OK; I can see all stations, suggested play lists, and so on But: When I play anything, it takes a long time to connect, then it plays for a few seconds, but only on one of my (7) speakers/amplifiers/rooms, switching back and forth between them Eventually, after a few seconds, or sometimes right from the start it says: Insufficient connection speed to playHowever, I have 300Mps speed confirmed through the house, and Pandora plays just fine. I also confirmed that I can play Amazon music through the laptop without any problems. Any idea how to troubleshoot this? I already disconnected and then reconnected (added back) the Amazon service to Sonos 1 (I was an early adopter, so all my equipment is the old equipment). Any ideas? Anything to do with Amazon’s latest offer of “HD” (not sure exactly what that is)Greatly appreciate advice!
First set up went really well. Yesterday my son connected through Bluetooth but then the Move would not reconnect on the network. After various tries I reset my router and it connected but then the touch controls would not work even if I toggled them on off in the app. So I did a reboot of the sonos move in order to reset everything but now the app cannot find it even though I reinstalled the app and tried two different mobile phones. While trying all the above I noticed in a wifi analyzer app at one stage the move had its own WiFi signal. However after switching the move on off a couple of times this signal has now disappeared from my those my analyzer app can see which I guess is a bad sign. The green light continues to flash of course.Edit: The WiFi signal on the move came on or restarted when pressing the join button and went to orange light.
My upstairs device that is connected with a cable directly to my router is having intermittent issues fading in and out, whereas my downstairs device that is on wireless is not experiencing the same issue while the same music is playing on both.I have Diagnostic code of : 2040040496
I have several older ZP80 and Connect units with failed analog out stages but zero appetite for pitching my entire system for S2 replacement devices. In the past I’ve rescued an older ZP100/Amp by replacing obviously failed bulging electrolytic caps. Hoping there might be a similar component level fix for this apparently all-too-common failure mode of the older Connects. If it’s a matter of some simple passive component(s) that have given up the ghost but can be readily reworked that would be ideal. If the audio codec IC itself the culprit then that’s rather more involved. Plan B is to buy a cheapo ADC from Amazon and hope the digital outs still function on my two failed Connect units.
My home is set up with a 2-node ASUS ZenWiFi AC AiMESH wifi set-up. I’ve got a few SONOS speakers throughout the house. My Beam is hard-wired to the main router. However, I still get the “Wireless range extender” error message when trying to play the same thing on multiple speakers. (“Some Sonos products are using the WiFi from a range extender device. If you include one of these in a room group, you won’t be able to play music in that group. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms, you’ll need to permanently wire a Sonos product to your router.) I’ve unplugged all the speakers, re-booted the router, then plugged them back in one-by-one, but the error still happens. In my “About My System” page, all speakers are showing WM = 0. Despite the error message, my speakers do seem to be able to connect in a group, but not consistently, and sometimes they are very slightly out-of-sync.
This question was asked in 2019 but the topic was closed. When I’ve played music in the Sonos app on my phone sent to one of my speaker sets, if someone calls me, it immediately starts playing again even days later. I Airplayed some tunes to kitchen setup on a Christmas Day. It’s now 28th December but even now, every time someone calls me, I get Grace Jones again! This has persisted for several software and app updates and has been a thing for about a year. I think I can cure it by fully closing the app in my phone but it’s an odd behaviour and, as I’m sure many people do, I don’t routinely close the app, just leaving it in the background. It did this very thing the other night when a teenager rang at 2am for a ride home. I didn’t notice it from the bedroom for 5 minutes and assumed the neighbours were having a party Any light shed on this would be useful.
My Sonos system has stopped working. My WiFi is working properlyMy Sonos system is stating that there is no Sonos Sytem on my network. I have reset the WiFi and tried connecting manually. It has been working for years without problem before this.
I thought I would share this solution in case others have this same problem. I’ll admit I’m not an IT expert, but from my searching it seems like a lot of people are having problems with Sonos speakers dropping, not being found or not being able to mate as a stereo pair when connecting to networks that support both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz connections. The issue with using my five Sonos One speakers with my Nokia BGW320-505 router from my AT&T provider seems to have been that some of the speakers connect to the 2.4Ghz channel while other speakers connect to the 5Ghz channel. When that happens SOME of the speakers are invisible to the Sonos app and can’t play music, even though they are connected to the wifi. I would reboot them and maybe get them connected and then they’d disappear a few minutes later or overnight. Or I’d get them connected but be unable to form a stereo pair. Other times repeated rebooting wouldn’t help. Very frustrating. What fixed it was to set up explicit filte
This topic has been discussed too many times to recount. Most (I dare say 99%) are negative. I’ve owned the Roam (two) as an early adopter during Sonos pre-order. My experience has been what I expected.Using the Roam outside in 90 degree heat will deplete the battery faster than when in the shade or a cool environment. I would think that most would understand that anyway. Note: I doubt very seriously I’ll be providing experiences encountered in extreme cold. The purpose of this post is to hopefully bring some closure regarding the Roam’s ability to retain battery life when not in use. To test the Roam’s battery retention I left my Roam’s unplugged and allowed them to go into sleep mode. 45 plus days (or so) later upon plugging them into power and adding them back to the Sonos App they registered 87% and 89% respectively. However, un-scientific you think my testing I’d say the Roam does not lose battery strength when in sleep mode to a great degree as has been suggested in other posts. I just got my Sonos amp w/ Sonance speakers from Best Buy and I am having the same no volume at 0-30%… really have to have it at 50% before you can hear the music. And at 100% I’m not exactly blown away by the volume either. I’ve read thru all the other threads about this and never have found a solution. Spec..14 gauge wire on a 10’ run, no volume limit. Can anyone assist?
Hello folksI seem to have a horrific experience of keeping my 5 sonos devices visible to whatever UI I am using. I’ll try and list out the situation here and see if any of you kind souls have any ideas.Devices: 3 x S1, 1 Playbar & Sub (not used with any of the S1’s)Home WIFI is dualband with seperate 2.4 and 5Gh networks SONOS is aware of the 2.4 GH network SONOSNET is active (I have 2 devices on ethernet, all devices show as WM:0) S1 on ethernet (Hall) S1 on ethernet (Bedroom) This is a powerline type solution rather than a single run of ethernet from LAN to room (so it is router to powerline - then over wiring to powerline receiver - then ethernet to speaker) S1 on sonosnet (Dining room) Playbar and Sub on sonosnet (Lounge) On Sonos Desktop App (windows) I can see Hall, Dining Room and Lounge. I am currently playing on the Hall On Sonos Android App (2) On 2.4 network I can see devices depending on where I am in the house. Standing in the middle of the house now - I
Anyone has issue with account and system greyed out in the Sonos app, unable now to setup my beam and sonos
I own two Sonos One speakers, one Sonos Move, and one Sonos Playbar. My diagnostic reference number is 1323800420. Our whole system will play for hours on end at times and then just start not working. We’ve reconnected it to the internet multiple times and ensured they’re all on the same network. It got better for a while but has started doing it again recently.
