Hei,

I have 2x Sonos 5 (gen 3) + 1x Sonos beam(gen 1) and one AT- LP120xbt  usb as turnplate.

I can Connect the turnplate with one Sonos 5 and after choose Line in on all 3 sonos to play together.

But if i choose to Connect them  on Stereo mode i dont have anymore the option of the Line in.

that’s make me crazy to switch the stereo mode on/off and configurate the trueplay everytime, depends of what I want use them.

Can someone help me please

i tried to connect them all together but if the Sonos 5 become slave to the beam, I understand why .

so the best is to put both 5 on stereo and add the beam to them all the time before use?

Set up the two Fives as a stereo pair. When playing turntable audio, select the “Line-In” option under Browse or group the Beam with the Fives in the Sonos app.

If you want to use the Fives as surrounds with the Beam, consider getting a Port to connect your turntable. Or consider getting a pair of One SLs to use as surrounds with the Beam instead.

When you say “connect them on Stereo mode”, do you mean setting up the two Fives as a stereo pair? Even if the Fives are a stereo pair, you can still connect the turntable to one of the Five’s line-in ports and play the turntable audio through all of your Sonos speakers by selecting the “Line-In” option under Browse or by grouping the Beam with the Fives.

You should be able to pair them in stereo and still use the line in.  If you add them to the Beam as surrounds, they become slaves to the Beam and the line in is disabled.

Just to get the Sonos speak in order: there’s no Sonos 5 (gen 3). The Play:5 had two gen’s. The Play:5 (gen 2) was followed by the Five.

Thank you, helped me a lot 👍😉

At this moment I have both Sonos 5 as stereo with the beam added.

Considering buying the sub in the future.

Thinking put the sub with both Sonos 5 and add the beam together

Will be a huge difference to buy a Sonos port? , I mean put everything as surround .

A Port will not be part of your surround set up, but wil be in an extra “room”, ready to be grouped with the room that contains your surround set up. This way you can get the sound from your turntable into your Sonos system. I use a Sonos Connect (predecessor to the Port) for getting the sound from my CD player into my Sonos system.
