Let's talk about Sonos Connect, Connect:AMP, Sonos AMP, and setups using Sonance architectural, or your own speakers and components.

I have a pair of Totem Arro's being delivered Wednesday. I have an Amp connected to the original Bose Acoustimass 5's now, and looking forward to the Arro's with the Amp - hoping Sonos can make these sing...I also have a Sunfire HRS8 subwoofer to try out. Anyone driving "decent" speakers with or without a subwoofer and how do you like the sound. Have you compared the sound to other amplifiers in the same price range. Also thinking about getting a turntable to add to the system, got a buddy with tons of LP's and he's willing to lend me some until I build up my own collection. I realize TT's can be inexpensive and also over the top (relative) can anyone provide their experience. Cheers!
I installed my new Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable into my SONOS Sytems using a SONOS Connect box that I had been using with an old stereo. I have the Line-In set up correctly with Line-In Source Level set at the Max of 10. Even with that high setting, the music only gets to a moderate level when playing on my Living Room Playbase and two Play-1 combination with the speakers also set to max volume. It is fine for moderate/casual listening, but not loud enough to “crank it” or use at a party. Would the Connect-Amp provide more sound? Or, should I switch to Play-3 or Play-5s?
Hi everybody 🙂 Question#1: I need help to pick the right speaker set.. I buiding a new extension (50 m2/550 ft2) to my house and I'm planning to use 2 SONOS Connect:Amp (probably going to switch those for 1 or 2 SONOS Amp later) for 2 pair of in-ceiling speakers to create 2 listening zones. What will be the best speaker set for me? BOSE Virutally Invisible 791 or the new speakers from SONOS/Sonance? I'm going to pair the Connect:Amp with a Sub for a richer sound 🙂 Or do you recommend a different type of speakers? Question#2: I'm considering connect the Connect:Amp to a TV, and I've heard of some kind of delay. Is this a issue? If I switch the Connect:Amp that will be connected to a TV with a Sonos Amp instead, and use the 2nd Connect:Amp for a listening zone that's about 5 meters from the TV - and then connect those 2 (Connect:Amp and the new Amp): Will there be delay between the 2 zones?
my line in / audio input drops out in the evenings. I run my record player, via its own independent amp, into a ConnectAmp, supported by a Boost. The audio compression is set to compressed. I still get drop-out. It has just started however after an update... any ideas? I may have to go back to cables otherwise, this is no fun.
Hey all, New to the Sonos community. Not sure how to ask this question. I was recently given a Sonos Connect XP90. Can I only connect this to an amp and to wired speakers, or can i use this to connect to wireless speakers?
Obviously not an expert on this but struggling with setting up my turntable I bought a project essential III as recommended on sonos site, and having a sonos 1 and two 3’s I also invested in a sonos 5 having been told that I could connect directly without a connect However I can’t get any sound when I connect directly and now a bit of googling seems to suggest I might need a preamp as well? All help gratefully received as this is proving quite a painful and expensive way of playing my old vinyls ! Thanks in advance !
I wish you would consider adding a few more robust features to the Pocket Casts app Jump forward or back 15 (or 30) seconds Ability to delete cast after listening Change playback speed (1.2x, 1.3x, 1.5x, etc.) Create a slider to progressively move forward or backward though cast - you do have a very coarse one currently.
I have a pair of B&O Penta speakers from the late 1980s, Type 6623. One Penta is working beautifully with a phono input from a Sonos Connect. The second Penta speaker stopped working awhile ago with a solid orange status light and no sound. (Research suggests the integrated amplifier in the base of these speakers often fails.) My initial search has not yet found a replacement BeoLab 150 amplifier. What I'm considering instead is disconnecting the integrated amplifiers on both speakers to attach cables directly to the Penta drivers, making a passive speaker set that could be driven by a Sonos Connect Amp. I've found related threads here including someone mentioning they experienced a constant humming noise when B&O passive speakers were connected to a Sonos Amp. I don't feel like investing a ton of money in these thirty year old speakers but I'd like to continue enjoying them with Sonos if possible. Any thoughts on which way to go? If I drive the passive speakers with a Connec
I've seen hundreds of references to the Sonos speakers that will and will not support Airplay 2, but I haven't seen a definitive word as to whether the Connect:Amp will directly support Airplay 2. By directly, I mean *without* piggybacking it on a new generation Sonos speaker.
Hello I'm nearly all Sonos. In the front room I have a Sonos Connect feeding an external Zodiac Gold Dac (Linear power supply) which feeds a power amp into my Focal speakers. The room also has a Beam and 2 Play 1s connected to the TV for surround duties. I always these days use Sonos as my feed for all TV and Music, I'm thinking of reducing boxes and going Sonos all in. The connect amp will only be used for 2 channel stereo I may put my 3 party sub onto the amp. Good way forward are users of the new amp happy with the sound delivered? I'll use the direct from Sonos route to ensure its a good fir with the room to allow a 100 day return.
I have a SONOS Connect, which is set up with an Onkyo tuner. The volume control within the SONOS app is set at 100%. The volume on my iphone is also set up to maximum. Here is my problem -- I have no control over the volume at all. Right now it is very very low. When I go to turn the volume up manually through the tuner, a message comes up stating that the volume is pre-set by SONOS. I cannot turn the volume up or down on my tuner and because it is set to maximum on the app as well as my iphone, this is as loud as it gets. Which is horrible. I have to practically sit beside the speakers to hear it. Also, I have tried to hit the volume control that is on the connect and it doesn't turn the volume up or down, only mute works. Have searched message boards and forums and have come up emptyhanded -- other than people saying to turn up the volume in the SONOS app -- which is already at 100%. Help! I am ready to toss SONOS completely.
Hi, I already understand older Sonos hardware cannot support Airplay 2 via firmware update. But is there a new hardware version of Sonos Connect coming that will support Airplay 2?
Recently jumped onto the Sonos bandwagon. Started with Beam for my TV/open Kitchen area. I have 2 pre-existing passive in-ceiling speakers (in that main room) that are run through an old amp in basement AV closet. I would like to connect and group the in-ceiling speakers with my beam (and planned Sub) for complete surround for TV and audio, basically in lieu of adding Ones to save on cost and overall decrease clutter. Do I use the new sonos Amp? Connect? Will this work, will there be delay? Thanks guys/gals
.. as the title says..? I have now connected my "Sonos Connect" over the wifi instead of using SonosNet from another device due to drop outs..(longer story, not relevant at this point) But now i cant use the ethernet ports on the connect as a switch? Can they be used when it´s on wifi somehow?
Hi I have just picked up a Flexson Vinylplay turntable as I want to add Vinyl to my current Sonos set up Which is the best/cost effective way of connecting it to my system? Sonos Connect? Sonos Connect Amp? ZP80? Or ZP90? I’m currently running playbar with a pair of play ones in the living room and several play ones dotted around the house.....also what’s people’s view on the Sub is it worth the outlay?
Question : I'm thinking of using the amp alongside a home recording setup. Does anyone know if there's noticeable lag when using photo for audio in - particularly as it would feed into a Sonos-net?
Anyone know if the Sonos Amp will have the opportunity to connect to other Sonos-speakers for “surround” use. Center speaker will probably not be possible, but it would be great it you could have a 4.1 system when connected to a television.
Show your setups, share tips and tricks etc.
I tried to register for be notified for the New SONOS Amp, however it keeps coming up with an error. Is there a rough arrival availability date?
For black Friday, I recently just purchased a Sonos & Sonance outdoor speaker bundle from Best Buy for a really good price that I couldn't pass up. My plan was to hook the speakers up for an outdoor living room type area. Right now, I just have a portable projector and screen, but I am wanting a more permanent solution with a budget tv installed. Upon researching on these forums, I'm now a bit concerned about the delay that people have experienced with hooking up the Connect: Amp with a tv. My Mars Nebula projector has a delay when I connect it to my outdoor bluetooth speaker and it is really annoying. I've seen posts where connecting the tv to the Connect:Amp with the headphone jack works. However, the tvs I have been looking at, don't have that connection option and I'm guessing I would have to use the optical out and then convert the signal to analog? Should I not be concerned and just install the Sonos/Sonance bundle or should I look into keeping the speakers and selling the
I'm trying to determine which one to buy to drive a pair of Polk MC80 ceiling speakers. They are 100 watt maximum and I understand that the Amp won't blow them even though it can go up to 125 watt. I should know these things, but I'm still learning! Recommendations?
So my wife has a cousin who works at the magnolia home theatre, and said he could get it for me, I just dont want to nag him about prices, until I have my wishlist together and I can just hand him cash and he can grab everything for me. so if someone works for bestbuy, can you let me know. I know its suppose to be 5% above what best buy pays. Thanks people.
I like the idea of the Connect, so I can add Sonos functionality to my existing Surround Sound system... But it seems rather expensive for what you actually get from it. Why doesn't the connect feature an IR blaster? This would allow users to use the Sonos App to turn on their receiver and switch to the correct input when they want to listen to music in that room. Without it, using the Sonos Connect seems primitive compared to what Sonos is trying to offer. It forces you to have to turn on your receiver, switch to the correct input (if needed), set an appropriate volume level (if needed), and then finally go into the Sonos App to get music or other content going. While this is not a huge deal, it can make starting music on a Connect much more difficult for people who are not as technically inclined. For $350, there is no reason it shouldn't also be able to turn on my Denon Receiver and switch it to the correct input, while also allowing better volume controls by letting me a
Bonjour, je suis a la recherche d'informations concernant l'impédance de sortie ligne du ZP90 Merci
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=31034 I recently saw the sycamore underground sub/speaker set at monoprice and decided i want to go with two set of subs and speakers. From the description on monoprice you can wire to a single channel at 4ohms. So instead of getting two sonos connect amps to power each set, could i just get one sonos amp, 125w per channel, and power each set at 4 ohms off each channel? Any help would be appreciated
