Hi all, I have recently (2weeks ago) bought a pair of the Sonos play5 gen2 speakers. Using them as a stereo pair in a fairly large living room. I am now thinking of buying a Sonos sub to get some more low end base and clear up the midrange. But… When reading that Sonos is discontinuing some of their older products i am starting to hesitate whether i should purchase the Sub or not. The Sub was launched in 2012 in Sweden if I remember correctly and costs around 800 dollars here still. So it’s design is now 8 years old. 800 dollars is a hefty bunch of money to most, so I don’t really want to invest in a 8year old model to have it discontinued 6months later. What are your thoughts on the Sub and it’s now 8year old design? Will Sonos discontinue this as they did with the connect and play5 gen1 recently? Will there be another updated Sub to replace this soon? Do I dare to invest in this product?   Regards:Kris        

What will happen with my connect if iI will not accept the trade up.  Will my connect still function in the future ?  I do not need the feature that the port has !!   My connect is only a few years old and it does what it has to do ! What will happen in the future with my other sonos components ?Due to new firmware or other reasons will we have to buy new products ? Is this the way sonos is making business ?Hopely I'm wrong

I have a Sonos Bridge which connects with my Play:3 speakers. I recently purchased a Sonos Amplifier to connect with my stereo receiver and in-ceiling speakers. I just received notice that the Bridge will no longer be supported. Can I use the amplifier now the control my Play:3 speakers?

Seeing the recent trade in offers I was wondering if there is some planned end of life for Sonos Gen 1 products like most of the kit I own? I have just had a quick look at the Trade in offer and it is suggesting I spend a further £1500 to upgrade kit which seems to be working perfectly well. While I don’t argue that it is a reasonable offer I just wondered why I would need to do such a thing.  Is the stuff I own going to stop working at some point?

So i just recieved the email informing me my connect that I JUST PURCHASED NEW at BestBuy in DECEMBER is now not going to be supported??  I paid $350 just ONE MONTH AGO and this happened?? Maybe I need to return it to BestBuy?  Can I still do this.  I use it to connect my Turntable wirelessly to my Play1s and sub

Does the new version of the Sonos Amp auto power off with no signal present?

Hi,   I currently have a Play:Bar, Sub and two One:SL’s set up for my surround sound experience on my TV. I have a bridge connected as well (off the top of my head I’m not sure where or how).   I’ve just received an email stating that this is now a legacy product as of May 2020 and will no longer be supported.   I have two questions: Do I need this in my setup or can I run the surround sound experience without it? What if anything is a suitable replacement?

Hi all, i’m trying to make an outdoor setup with one or more Sonos Amps.   Problem is, i’d like to also have an outdoor subwoofer, which are almost all passive, and don’t really understand how i can set that up. Other non Sonos systems basically see the speakers daisy chained from the amp, and the Sub is simply treated as one of the speakers.   Anybody has a clue?

I am looking at a new AMP with outdoor speakers to add to my Sonos - I already have a couple of playbar surround systems set up and some One's around the house. I also have an old turn table that I would like to plug into the AMP. My question is, can I play from the turntable to a different set of speakers in my setup? e.g. to one of the playbar surround systems without it also playing on the outdoor speakers attached to the AMP? Or will anything that I play through the input from the AMP always going to have to play on the speakers attached, as well as any others I select? thanks

Curious about fhe AMP. What’s holding me of so far is the price tag. Got 2 top end Dynaudio Audience 72 SE speakers which are standing idle. Running 2 Play 5 (1st gen) in the living room, setup as a stereo pair (one Play 5 wired to my router), as well as a Beam. Using the AMP could I add the Dynaudio speakers (wired to the AMP) to the Play 5 speakers, thus running a seamless 4 speaker (2 Play 5 + 2 Dynaudio) configuration? Anything I should be made aware of? Possible constraints of such setup? Thks

I’m planning on buying the Sonos Amp and to drive my old Amphion Helium 520 floorstanders (4ohms) with it.   The Sonos Amp manual states: “Your speakers’ power rating should be at least 125W for 8 ohm speakers, and at least 200W for 4 ohm speakers.” My speakers’ power recommendation is 10 to 150W so how should I interpret the power rating of 200w for 4ohm speakers? Will the Amp work with the speakers?   Thanks!

I’ve just set up my new Beam and the left and right channels are reversed.  I didn’t notice until i played Bohemian Rhapsody on YouTube (via Sky Q receiver) and the voices are coming from the wrong channels.  I have the Beam connected to the ARC HDMI.  Any way i can reverse these?  

Sonos have recently started a trade in promotion in the UK with partnered retailers where you can trade in a Connect or Connect:AMP and receive a 'specified' discount off of a new Sonos AMP. They then modified the trade in promotion to be where you can trade in any Connect, Connect: AMP or (old gen) Play:5 for 30% any new Sonos product. I get that they are trying to sell more +/ new products but then contributing a massive amount to electrical waste. In their T&C's that they send to retailers they give a £15 credit (recycling fee) for the disposal of the old product. The old product is to strictly not be used or re-registered again or the retailer will be punished or loose their partnership.  I think it's disgusting that Sonos are playing a huge role in generating unnecessary waste. I have a zp90 and zp120 that I had set up in my old house  that used to be used in conjunction with the BR 100 ridge unit until it failed. Is there a way of setting up the zp120 and zp90 without the bridge unit? also, does the zp units have wireless / Bluetooth capabilities to connect to speakers? I am trying to recommission the system in time for a party in a couple of weeks and would appreciate some guidance on this please. many thanks Michael

I have 2 connect amps , one works with Line In , the other permanently says Disconnected under the Line In option unders Systems on the Sonos app

I have a traditional HiFi system with three sources, eg record deck with dedicated phono stage, CD, and radio all connected to an integrated amplifier and out to a pair of speakers. I am correct that the Sonos Amp and Port are only capable of connecting to one of my three sources at a time and therefore neither Amp or Port can replace my integrated Amp.

Hi all, i am about to buy a sonos Amp. With the setup below, to replace my Sonos Beam / Sonos Sub / HT setup. Sonos AMP connected to the TV SVS subwoofer connected to the Sonos AMP, Wharfedale floor standing speakers connected to the Sonos AMP, 2 x Play 1’s in the rear for surround (wirelessly connected to the Sonos AMP). In the hope that i would have a better Bass response, full sound (from the Wharfedales) however, there are a few threads and posts where people are saying that they are having some issues with 3rd party subwoofer and the sonos Amp. Whether it is a loss in power, weak signal, not getting a signal, etc. I really don’t want to spend $1k and then regret it. Is there any one who have a Sonos Amp and a 3rd party subwoofer and 3rd party speakers who absolutely love it and produce awesome sound that you would highly recommend this product ?

Technician instructed me to purchase Sonos Amp and a separate 8-channel speaker selector for the 8 built-in speakers in my home. I also have 2 Sonos Ones in other rooms. When a different technician came to set up everything, he did it totally different from what the first guy told us, and even when questioned, he just said he didn’t know why the first guy told me that, and basically had no answers. He grouped all of my built-in speakers during the Sonos Amp setup process, and I cannot figure out how to change them. Can that even be undone without starting all over?  They are labeled as 4 separate pairs on the channel selector, but not in the App or the PC Controller. I am hoping there is a simple way to do that on my own without having to schedule another appointment and pay again. Thank you.

Hi,    I just setup my port with existing Sonos speakers, but within my system menu, the port is in a separate group with no speakers and then there is another group with all the speakers and no port. Is that how it should be, or should my port be in the same group as the rest of my speakers

I'm wanting to do the following: Take an Apple TV and connect it to a J-Tech Digital HDMI Splitter 1x2 and take 1 HDMI out from the splitter to my projector for video and the second HDMI out from the splitter to a Beam for audio. Would you foresee any issues? Hello there  I’m a happy Beam owner, who was hoping to connect a wireless vinyl turntable and listen to my old albums. But it looks like there’s a problem - the Ion Air LP turntable I’ve been bought uses Bluetooth and is therefore incompatible with Sonos. Is there a way around that?   Can I connect a Bluetooth wireless turntable to Sonos in any way?  Thanks in advance! And Merry Christmas too...  

I’m hoping someone can help me understand what is happening when Sonos Connect is connected to my preamp via optical input to my preamp, which also has a DAC. Does the optical connection bypass the DAC in the Connect? Or does the conversion happen in the Connect? I’m trying to figure out if the DAC in the preamp then does additional conversion, or if it does nothing because it is seeing an analogue signal that doesn’t need conversion? I’m fine with the DAC in the Sonos, but the reality is my preamp has one also. I’m not sure how to think about what might be the best way to connect the devices to avoid having to go through the conversion twice (or if that even matters). Many thanks for the education.

Hi!   I have connected a soundbar to the PORT with coaxial cable, and I just wonder if I can connect another set of speakers to the PORT with RCA cable and have them with sound comes out simultaneously with the soundbar? Or I can connect speakers with either the coaxial digital out or AV OUT (with RCA cable)?

Hi!   Just would like to ask the experts here if it is workable to connect the Chromecast Audio to the AUX IN of SONOS PORT in order to stream the audio that sending from the devices like mobile phone, tablets and PC etc. to all SONOS speakers in the same wifi network? For example some music streaming services that are not integrated to SONOS but chromecast compatible…   Thanks in advance!!
