I have an a playbar connected to a (Sony TV) that also has an Apple TV box. There are also 2 connect amp’s and a roam in the house.  Just recieved a HomePod as a gift. Is it possible & if so how can I connect the HomePod to the Sonos system?  Thanks for any answers especially those that are not super technical.

How’s this for technical? No.

Unfortunately, they’re essentially incompatible systems.

Not really sure what you’re asking.

Currently, AirPlay 2 can only send a stereo signal to a Sonos.

The PLAYBAR was designed and manufactured before Sonos supported AirPlay 2. It can not receive an AirPlay 2 signal. It can be grouped with an AirPlay 2 target, though. I used to do this frequently, with my PLAYBAR setup and a Sonos One.

I’ve never attempted to use the bandwidth to send more than one AirPlay 2 stream, but I’m not aware that Apple guaranties the synchronicity between multiple streams, that’s something you’d need to check with Apple. I do know there is no way to split the audio in one AirPlay 2 stream and a video stream…I tried that just yesterday, again, to see if anything had changed in iOS 18.2  It has not.

Essentially, the HomePod stands as one system, the Sonos as another.
