Roam: Stop Bluetooth timing out

I want to be able to use my Roam as a bluetooth speaker connected to my Mac.  I can pair it and everything works fine, except during the periods where I’m not playing music or generating computer audio, the Sonos disconnects from bluetooth and reverts to wifi. Is there any way to stop the roam from automatically disconnecting after periods of inactivity? It’s very annoying.

Have you tried turning of the Battery saver function.  Also is in on a charging base?

Is it the Roam breaking the connection or the Mac?

Thanks - yes I enabled that. It’s not on a base but it is plugged in via USB

I *think* it’s the Roam: my previous Bluetooth speaker which has died (Bose SoundLink Mini 2), was connected in the same way and it never disconnected (even with inactivity) which leads me to think it’s the Roam.
