Hi @Stegrid90

Thanks for the diagnostics - I have forwarded them to the engineer that requested them.

Hi @kevkev

Thanks! However, it seems as though you have reset your entire Sonos system since sending the diagnostics, and they are no longer relevant as a result. They were also submitted at a time when you could not connect to your system, so there was no information there anyway.

I can also see that your speakers are currently offline!

I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team, who will be happy to resolve these connection issues for you.

I hope this helps.

Hi @OliverPersch

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with receiving a 1066 error when trying to update your speakers.

We have heard a couple of such reports recently, and are trying to gather data on them.

Could you please submit a support diagnostic and reply here when done? Please don’t share the number given. Thanks.

Once that has been done, please try rebooting the speakers, the router (switch off for at least 30 seconds) and the device running the Sonos app, then try updating again.

I hope this helps.

Hi Corry!
I just experienced the same problem over and over again, so I submitted the diagnostics as well

Have you tried updating the speakers using the desktop app for Windows or Mac, downloadable from the Sonos website? That can often get round 1xxx errors…

Same problem here, with a Sonos 1. Over and over 1066 error. So sick of opening the Sonos app and it asking to update (unusable). What garbage Sonos has become. Nearly 15 years with this system. It was great for about 12 years. The last 2 or 3, utter trash. What a shame it has become a nightmare.

I can’t even open the app to use the other 19 because of the 1 f-in speaker that won’t update. Sonos should cease to exist.

In case anyone at Sonos support cares, the diagnostics number is ***********

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing an error on my system for a few weeks now. The error is called error 1.066. I don't know how to fix it.

This system has been rendered nearly useless since it will not update and keeps giving me the same prompt. $20K+ invested in this product all throughout the home and it won’t update, so you can’t use it as intended. What a complete joke.

Sonos has some serious Q/C as well as leadership issues. Took a great product and destroyed it in an  attempt to roll out headphones.

Did you read this thread for the potential solution I gave that worked for others…?

I finally called Sonos tech support and needed their help to fix it. Nothing I tried (even with their prompting) would work. The issue was that of the ~20 Sonos speakers we have, a few of them were on the old firmware for some reason, so that essentially stopped the whole system from updating and it would not allow me past the Update screen on the app. The tech had to remotely push through firmware updates and some speakers I had to bring to my router and manually attach by ethernet cable. Not exactly a plug and play no fuss system.

In the end, it seems to be back up and running, but I will never buy another Sonos product. Remember when Sonos was reliable and just worked? Now it’s issue after issue (usually when guests are over and you just want to play music -- quite a few of those guests will never by Sonos either after witnessing the unstable system).

Did you try updating from the Mac or Windows app? Or just your phone?
