My SONOS MOVE just randomnly started to malfunction. It turns itself ON at any time. After tunring it off, in less than 10 minutes it will be on again.

It was working just fine, I’ve had it for a couple of years now, but suddenly it started with this thing… Happens on bluetooth and over wifi. I was recommended to turn it into “deep sleep” which is simply ridiculous, as I use it regularly. As I said, it never did this before.

I have a support case #***********

I’ve done several diagnosis (#**********)

Please help!

So, starting from the beginning, what is your Move playing, when it turns on? Have you checked that there are no Alarms set, inside the Sonos app, or on an external source / home control app? Have you updated the controller and the Move to the latest version of the software from Sonos? Have you factory reset the Move recently? Do you have other Sonos devices?

To your issues…

That’s very strange. Once a music stream is stopped there should be no auto restart of that stream especially over Bluetooth. That’s really a mystery???

Please explain the steps you take to stop a music stream.

So the only thing missing was the factory reset for me, apparently this did the trick. Went all night without turning on by itself !! I will monitor it and get back here if it goes wrong.

Thank you so much for your input, Bruce!

I’ve found sometime electronics don’t ‘boot’ properly, or are hit by odd solar rays, or something…and sometimes reloading a fresh version of the OS helps reset the experienced ‘issue’. Glad it worked in your case! It doesn’t, always, depending on if there is an electronics issue and not a firmware or software issue. ;)
