Airplay wont work in era 100 from windows pc itunes, but airplay works from iphone and other airplay devices work from pc.

Welcome to the Sonos Community!
We are aware of an issue whereby some Sonos speakers will be unable to play AirPlay feeds from a Windows PC running iTunes software, and we are investigating. We have no estimate for when a fix might be put in place, but I will update this thread when I hear of it.
In the meantime, you should be able to play to affected speakers by AirPlay-ing to speakers not affected and grouping the intended speakers in with it, where this is an option. Era 100, Era 300 and Move 2 speakers are affected by this issue.

My experience:
- AirPlay using 2 Apple devices, AirPlay will work (eg iOS/MacOS & AppleTV)
- AirPlay using 1 Apple device and 1 non-Apple device, AirPlay will probably work (eg iOS/MacOS and Era-100)
- AirPlay using 2 non-Apple devices, AirPlay probably wont work (eg Windows PC & LG TV)
The problem is airplay 1 was broken in Era models by firmware update in November 2024.
Other non Apple airplay enabled devices in my house are working without problem.
I do not have lg TV.
Sonos has never supported AirPlay 1, only AirPlay 2.

Airplay is retro compatible.
Years using airplay 1 from my LMS Server…until last November, when Sonos broke something in Era models.
Move, Roam and Beam still working….
Same problems here. Half a year after initially failing, my Sonos speakers are still not working for the primary purpose I bought them for (AirPlay streaming from iTunes on Windows 11 to my workshop’s Era 300 multi-speaker group). And they were not cheap speakers, so I’m really disappointed it’s taken so long.
Sonos, please fix this. It used to work just fine last year! Literally nothing has changed in my setup other than a few Windows 11 updates and some Sonos firmware updates!

just bought an ERA 100 - I have the same issue mentioned here - when can we expect a fix for this (other AirPlay devices including SONOS devices like the One are working fine).
As the months go by, I’m starting to lose hope that Sonos will ever fix this so that it works like it used to.
No anything in fact - if we believe the release notes it changes nothing except the version number!
AirPlay on my Era 100s stopped working a long, long time ago. They’ve been collecting dust since. Sonos tech support was an awful experience and completely useless.
Same problem with Move 2. Talked with Sonos many times; most recently July 2025. Said they were aware of the problem and in the process of fixing this. C’mon Sonos! Airplay from a PC to Move 2 worked great ever since I purchased it in 2022. It’s fair to expect that you fix what you broke.
Same problem here. Maybe the pressure will increase if more frustrated users voice their concerns here.
