I’ve seen hundreds of posts on here with people that have a reasonable need for a headphone jack which Sonos has chosen to get rid of by making the play 5 G1 incompatible with the new controller. I see that people keep responding that Sonos has no obligation to those of us who need a headphone jack option because there isn’t a need from the mass. I love my Sonos sound system. I have a speaker in every room of my house so I’m not here to badger Sonos but I believe that there is a market for incorporating a headphone jack. They had one in the GEN one play five so why remove it in the later generation? I, like others on here, have a unique, yet genuine, need for a headphone jack because regardless of whether we are the majority or minority, we all invested in Sonos and we like to listen to our music our own way. The application for me is that I have a drum set I play and I plug my headphones into the headphone jack of the ply 5 gen1 and use it as a monitor so I can play my drums along
Mine lasts about 2-3 hours tops. Only a couple of of months old.
I'm getting the Sonos Move for Christmas (actually already have, wife will not let me touch it yet) and I have a question. While I definitely plan to use the speaker on battery power from time to time, I wondering if there is an adverse effect on the battery for leaving it plugged in for long periods of times? Also will the battery degrade if not used often. Just a couple questions that just popped into my head as I try wait patiently to Christmas morning.
So I own several Sonos One and a Sonos Beam and am very happy with what the system does. Having said that I am very frustrated with what it doesn't do. I have a Sonos product in every room in my house except my office. I work from home and do not like having headphones in my ear and prefer to work through a speakerphone. Unfortunately Sonos does not have a product that works as a speakerphone and the most frustrating point is that Sonos does not support Alexa phone calling, texting or any other outside calling feature. And NO, I do not want to buy an echo dot. So now I see that the Sonos Move is coming out and am very interested in the Bluetooth feature with the Far Field Microphone array. Unfortunately, I only see from the marketing about how great it is for talking with AI assistants like Alexa and absolutely no information about how it will work as a professional speakerphone. My Question is: Has the Sonos Move been tested as a Bluetooth speaker phone? If so how well do the far f
Wanting to hAve singalong at Christmas … is there still a delay problem on Sonos move or can you get a Bluetooth microphone that works ok?
We have a pair of Play 5’s: Generation one speakers. Will they stream lossless 24bit FLAC from primephonic? I think I understand that the Generation 1’s will play FLAC - but not the 24 bit. Thanks to anyone who can clarify.
Hi guys newbie here but absolutely pulling my hair out with adding my surrounds to my beam.Beam works fine but when I go to connect the surrounds - it says that I need compatible speakers and check they are on WiFi.ive gone through the whole power down everything routine and start up one by one but nothing…I have even connected via Ethernet and nothing, it’s as if they are not even recognized at all as they don’t show up….. any help would be much appreciated
Hi - I have enjoyed my Sonos system since 2005. In addition to a handful of Connect: Amp’s, I still have one of my original ZP100’s that is going strong. As someone who is happy to upgrade with newer components at some point, I wonder what the main benefits will be, both in terms of hardware and software (I use S1 exclusively). Do others have thoughts on what the main benefits of the newer equipment would be for me? Is it just faster processors and more power? Part of me is happy to continue as is, since nothing’s broken, but I wanted to ask. Also, I wondered if someone might point me to the features that are available through the new Sonos software vs. S1. Thanks in advance for your insights. David
HiAnyone tell me how many centimeter (CM) the power cord (220V) is on the Sonos One speaker?Rgds
Hello community!I have just purchased my very first Sonos product, a Move. Sadly my first impression is far from as good as I had hoped. The unit is set up and functional, however, I experience frequent dropouts when streaming to the speaker over AirPlay.By dropouts I mean short interruptions in the playback. Aside from these dropouts I have also experienced the audio completely stopping, even if the medium from which its being sourced, say Spotify, is still playing. These problems occur regardless of source. Tried with two different iPhone models (X and XS) and via Apple TV, with all devices being up to date.Today I tested streaming to my Apple TV, choosing my TV for video while choosing the Sonos Move for audio playback. The video signal was seamless, while the audio dropped out. I then switched to the TV’s built-in speakers and the problem disappeared. Even if I have a steady WiFi connection I have tried moving the speaker around to exclude disturbances in the network. Unfortunatel
A useful display option on setting speaker volume at different speakers. Within the circle indicating volume setting, a number indicating relative volume setting would be helpful. Then one would know what number the wife would like.
I applied a small clear plastic glue button to the audio + switch on top of the speaker. Now, even in the dark I can utilize one of the three options (lower, up or off).
Can I link an odd number of SL’s together? How many can I link together? Also if I have three rooms, can I send different music to each room from one device or do I need three devices to do that?
Due to poor storage on the last RV trip, the grill of one of my Play:1s got dented. Pretty sure I can pop it out from the inside. Any tips or tricks to opening it up so I can fix it?
I love the Sonos Move speaker. However, I'd like to add it to an Alexa multi-room music group, but after waiting for several years for Sonos to add this functionality, I'm not holding my breath that it will ever happen. So instead, my solution was to connect it to an Echo dot or Echo Input via bluetooth in order to be able to connect it to my Alexa MRM group. However, the Move seems to be continually going into a power saving mode, even while on the charger base when it is in bluetooth mode. This causes it to disconnect from the echo dot. Is there any way to disable this feature of going into Auto-standby state while in bluetooth AND on the charging base? I have a Bose soundtouch speaker that has a toggle to disable this. Does the move?
Where a Sonos speakers manufactured?
Play 5 keeps cutting out when using both Spotify and online radio stations/sites. We have moved the speaker further away from the router but problem still persists. I have don’t everything I can to reduced Wifi interference/conflict. All other speakers don’t have the problem and continue playing the music. diagnostic number is 822457304
Having issues since downloading new app, have a play 5 1st gen and play 1. Switched back to S1 app reset it all using Ethernet but still won’t recognise both speakers it’s so annoying was all fine before.
I just recently purchased two Fives to replace my Ones that I have been using for just music. The new Fives don’t sound as good as I expected and they are in the same place that I had my Ones. The Fives don’t have the depth and clarity like the Ones do. I have done the TruePlay set up and it only made a very minor difference. Any suggestions?
Hello Can i use Move as a win10 wifi speakers? How can i do this
is there a headset that will work with Sonos beam? Listened to too much Zep & Queen at the required volume in my time! got a great beam system and can just turn it up when i’m alone. but when watching with the wife i need to turn volume up a little too much for her liking. would like something that allows me to listen independent of the other speakers.
I’d like to use my SONOS speakers to listen to movies I’m streaming from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Etc. Is this possible?
Ordered Sonos Move in black on November 28. Current status is Backorder. I don’t recall it being on backorder when I ordered it.Any idea when the Sonos Move are going to start moving out? Pun intended.
I’ve connected my Move to my IMac but sound still comes from internal speakers. It’s definitely connected because when I click the Bluetooth icon it says disconnect from Move.
