Hi, I have a Sonos Sub 2.0 but it got a couple of scratches because I vacuumed it. Is it possible to remove these scratches? If so, what could I use? I attached a picture of the top of the sub.

I have connected to Sonos 1 speakers to my bridge which is downstairs. I want to move one of the speakers upstairs, but it cannot find the relocated speaker when I plug it in in the new location (upstairs).

Can anyone please tell me if I you can see/change the 5GHz channel the Playbar uses to communicate with rear Play:3s in the Sonos Desktop/iOS controller? I've already got an Apple Airport 5GHz network setup, which most of my devices use & want to ensure that it's possible to ensure they're on distinct channels and avoid interference.

We are building a wireless system with Sonos and started with the Play:5. I have a collection of vinyl and CD music that I want to be able to play via my turntable and CD player. I have a slightly older Technics SA DX940 receiver. I understand I can run my CD player and turntable into my receiver, as before, and run the receiver to the analog in of a CONNECT. But what audio out of the receiver should I use? Or do I need an intermediary item - a switch box or similar? Or an adaptor of some sort? Photo of inputs/outputs of the receiver is attached.

Hi to you all. To day I finally go to compare the denon heos 7 hs2 stereo pair with a play 5 gen 2 stereo pair. This is my experience and those are my ears ymmv. Heos has better sound dispersion over all but this super bass that is mentioned in most reviews is mostly apparent below 50% volume. Play 5 is punchier and more articulate albeit a little more mid scooped. All in all excellent speakers but Sonos takes the win for my ears. And the support and this community is just the icing on the cake. But there is a caveat, I'm currently using canton DM55 sound base as a living room stereo and only via Bluetooth. Honestly it actually sounds better to me than the Sonos and the heos. And another thing, I also demoed the Naim mu-so. For the money, a pair of play 5 plus sub still doesn't go where the naim goes in filling a room with sound. Funny story. We were having guests over for dinner and I was real excited to show off my new stereo system which consists of two play 5's. Then a nasty idea crept into my mind. Sonos will surely fail tonight since it has performed flawlessly from day one, because I'm gonna be showing it off. I start cooking and my wife puts on some music using her iPhone as a controller. No problem there. After dinner I'm showing my friend the system and grab my iPhone to change the music. Tada!!! Can't find any speakers. Hmmm ok don't panic, I think to my self, just kill the app and restart it on your phone. But still no speakers. I send a diagnostic report and as I'm doing that I think, fudge it I'll just restart the phone before I do anything else. I restart the phone and bam all is good again. I have a Sonos 5 that worked perfectly until this morning. It was dropped from my system and wouldn't reconnect. When I unplug it and plug it back in, the white light comes on very briefly and then goes dark. Help!

Sonos system had been working OK up till about a week ago and now cuts frequently when using radio.. Has something changed to cause this as its extremely frustrating!!

I notice delays when I stream music on all the speakers i have or when I am just watching tv. The delays are quick and goes away but I prefer to not have any delays. I have the boost playbar subwoofer two play 3 for the surround sound and 3 bedroom speakers

In my living room, I have a ZP90 connected to an older Sony A/V receiver (STR-DE597) that I bought on Craigslist. Earlier this year I added a pair of Polk TSi400 with a Polk subwoofer that I use for Sonos and my television. As I've been learning more about digital audio, I keep seeing references to dedicated DAC units as something that will really boost sound quality. My question is: with the components that I already have, would a DAC like the Peachtree DAC-iT make a difference? My concern is that since my other components are not very high-end, the better sound quality of the DAC would not really come through. Since this unit is about $500, would that be better spent on some other component, like a new A/V receiver? And a related question: how would the DAC be wired? Does the output from the Sonos go to the DAC and then the output from the DAC go to the receiver?

I have sonos set up in my restaurant and need to be able to play business subscription music so that we comply with the fees and royalties of playing recorded music. What can I subscribe to that will play through your system?

I tried the blue sound pulse 2 at my local dealership which also carries Sonos and heos. In a what hifi review they mention slight coarseness at higher volumes. To my ears the speaker simply distorted with the music I was using to test it out, it kinda fell apart. Then I tried two play 5's in stereo and with the same music max volume and there was no problem. But man it was loud. ? The specific track I use is Achilles, agony and ecstasy in eight parts by Manowar. It is really bass heavy on the kick drums and goes deep. I have at home a Bose soundtouch 130 which simply falls apart if I go near 70% on the volume with that particular song. This says a lot about Sonos quality when pushing things to the limit. I don't necessarily use this level of volume but I like my equipment to be able to do what it says on the spec sheet. Kudos Sonos.

Hi all, I would like connect my Bose SR1 soundbar with Sonos. Will I need Sonos Connect or the Sonos Connect:Amp? Currently, I cannot get any sound out of my Bose soundbar, which is connected to the Sonos Connect being in turn connected to my internet router. Is it my stupidity or just the wrong set-up? I've got two Play5 as a stereo setup in my living room. Now I like to extend my system with a SUB and the new Soundbar. Unfortunately Play5 is not supported to setup a 5.1 system but this is another topic... Both the Play5 as a stereo setup could connect with the SUB and also the Soundbar could be extended with a SUB. Is it also possible to use the SUB together with the Playbar when watching a movie and using the same SUB with my pair of Play5 when listening music?

Hello, I have had two play5s for the past few years with no issues. However, recently I have noticed that both units in seperate rooms seem to be attracting ants?! The ants seem to be living in the speakers and even though I spray them they seem to just come back. The ants leave little black flakes, I'm wondering if they are eating rubber or something else in the speaker, has anyone else seen this issue?

I connected my new connect and play 1 speakers throughout my house and can stream music on all the speakers individually just fine. However, when I connect my Audio Technica lp60usb to the connect (which has a built in preamp), I cannot get the sound to come oit of the speakers. I go through the app, choose the in line option and try all the different combinations of the sinos equipment and nothing, even though it shows its playing. I am hoping I am just doing something stupid and not clicking one thing. Anyone have ideas?

So I'm well aware that you can connect a Sonos Play:1 directly to a Mac via ethernet to play music off that laptop directly to the speaker. No Router or Wifi involved... Well thats what other posts seem to allude to. But nobody has actually specified HOW. :) So whats the step by step process? I've turned off my wifi on my mac, plugged my Sonos directly into it, and opened the Sonos app... It just tells me to connect to a wifi network, and won't attempt to find my Sonos that is plugged in. I turn the wifi on, sonos still connected via ethernet , nothing happens. How do I get this to work folks? 🙂

I was not too sure where to post this. 12 volt trigger threads seemed old so I started a new one. Context: ZP90 hooked to a Rotel power amp. I want Rotel to go on standby when no music is played. I read multiple threads and the consensus seems to be that this type of integration is either costly or not reliable due to extended silence between tracks in some records. Here is what I did: Parts: Xantech Current sensing block CSM1 Xantech Power supply 781RG Xantech Audio Sensor Module SMAUD01 Altronix 6062 Multipurpose timer Total Canadian landed cost $110 I originally installed the Xantech components only. So when music was sensed, a 12 volt trigger would fire to the rotel amp. I quickly found the solution to be unusable as the Xantech timer is only 15 seconds and probably less and therefore the amp would trigger on-off multiple times either at end of a track or during silent parts of classical music. My house has a speaker system wired into the rooms which was done by the previous owner. I am trying to figure out if I can use the Ethernet connection in the back of the Play5 to those speakers. I have a stereo amplifier that I can connect to which then connects to the speaker. Originally the system was connection to a stereo system which played CD, Radio and I think the TV.

Hey - Whats the best way to do this? When I try and connect these to through my TV optical output A: I'm not getting dolby 5.1 and B: I get weird beeping noises through the playbar. This happens ONLY on HDMI devices, never through the TV freeview Sonos was not much help with this, on the phone for half an hour and just suggested a problem with the TV output (GREAT!) Music and regular TV plays great but its a bit upsetting that a £1300 system is struggling with this. So what are my options? A new TV, but how do I know if it will pass the audio through correctly? Ive tried a cheap optical splitter, but that still beeped through the PS4. perhaps because it was cheap and it was still thinking it was receiving the TV signal? Who knows! A hdmi optical splitter? Again, there are so many of these and they all look so cheap and need remotes, not the best solution.... I just read a comment saying that it couldn't be done, but I wasn't sure. I've got a sound bar and sonos sub hooked up to my TV and had planned on adding two Play 5's and giving my living room the ultimate surround sound feel. Is this possible, or do I have to use Play 1's?

My Play 5 do not start when switched on. There comes a white light for a few seconds and no more happens

Question ... If I currently have no Boost or Bridge does that mean all of my speakers are just running off of my Wi-fi network? &nbsp

Hello, My Sonos collection is growing and I now have several speakers, located throughout my home. One thing I wanted to confirm is whether or not the Sonos speakers can be damaged by being played at full volume? Or are the speakers designed to be used at high levels and won't go to a level that could damage them? I generally only listen to them at medium levels but I wanted to check before having a party and risking damaging any of them! Many thanks
