So, I made a major score on a whim - I bought a used Play:5 Gen 2 on eBay last week. It was marked PARTS/AS-IS, but from the picture it was obvious it was a former store demo system, and I gathered from the rest of the seller's inventory that they're a salvage group. Some of their inventory said tested/doesn't work, this said UNTESTED, wires cut. So, I took a gamble and got it for $179! Got it in last week, grabbed a spare power cord from a Play:3, and I could add it to my zones and run updates, then it worked!!! I initially couldn't get the cord out, so I just stuck the bare wires into the holes on the good cord to set it up. I thought for a while that the store demos didn't have removeable cords and I'd have to solder a new cord together, but no, a screw driver under the edge of the boot, and Bob's your uncle! Now, I have a Play:5 with several scratches on the grill and the out shell. As the grill is glossy, I'm sure I can touch up with a sharpie or model paint - anyone h
Trying to ship a Sonos One to NZ, Could someone provide me with accurate packaging dimensions and weight Thanks
Hello! I'm not really interested in buying a playbar because my primary objective is to play music in my living room via my mobile devices, etc. However, since my TV is also in my living room, I think it a bit of a waste to have a music system in place that doesn't integrate with my TV. So...originally, I was thinking of purchasing two Play:3s, since my buddy has this setup in his home. I really liked the sound quality of the Play:3s for the value! However, I notice that the Play-3s have no in-line input to connect to the TV. Can you tell me the different solutions for integrating the Play:3s or Play:5s to the TV - other than purchasing the playbar? If I were to purchase two Play:5s instead, how would I set them up to my TV? Would there be any sound delays from TV to the Play:5s in this scenario? FWIW, I have a Sharp Aquos TV. Thank you! D
Been using this unit for about a year. One day it refused to power up. I changed socket, changed cord and tried the factory reset options no luck.. Please help.
Quick question, sorry if it's been asked but i cant find the answer. I know the current Pay:1 mounts and stands are not compatible with the new One, but will the One mounts (particularly the flexson) work with Play:1? I swear i read this a while back, but i could be my imagination. It looks like it could be, just not sure if its been confirmed. I will move current Play:1s to living room and set up Ones in the kitchen (would have loved to stereo paired play :1 and One in each room.....) but i'd rather mount the Play:1's on the new One wall mounts for future proofing needs if I ever upgrade living room to Ones. thanks.
Hi, dont know if anyone can help. Ive just bought a play 1, but have seen if you have two you can link youre tv to them and play it through them. But i cant find any info on it, just wondered does the tv need built in wifi and how to do it, cheers
Purchased my 3rd one from Sonos and it's smaller in size to the one I bought from best buy
I have a connect AND a connect amp and yes, I connected a standard speaker to the amp and it worked fine. the wireless speakers I have are Sound Appeal outdoor speakers https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C3ZTK9M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Miccus RTX is a wireless TX/RX that can be used (I assume) to transmit a wireless signal to wireless speakers OR receive a signal and be used as a distance booster for longer range https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00713RSE0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 the taotronics is also a TX/RX that can be used (also assumed) to receive the signal from the Miccus and then power the wireless speakers https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IV1H1ME/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I hooked the miccus from line out on both the connect and amp (separately, in an effort to troubleshoot), set to TX mode, paired it to the taotronics, and tried to pair it to the speakers... no joy i also tried hook
Just bought a play1 for my wife she wants to carry it between her studio and house both different wifi networks...as they are a quite a distsnce apart. It seems for some reason sonos only recognises one wifi access point surely she goesnt have to re pair with an access point time she moves it. Or has Sonos designed this software as such you need to purchase a second sonos?!
What generation of sonos play 3 is the latest? When will the next one be out?
Hi all, I have ordered Samsung UE55MU6400 HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV. The TV manual says it can use external Samsung Multiroom Link compatible speakers. Are Sonos Play 1's (I have a pair) compatible with this Samsung Multiroom Link please? Alternatively, I think the TV has both a Bluetooth connection and an optical out connection. Can I use either of those to connect the TV sound to my Sonos Play 1's? Thanks.
Is there any difference in audio power and quality between SONOS Play 1 and SONOS one?
Hi has the play 5 2gen got microphones built in for voice commands (which havent been switched on yet) cheers all
It stopped working all of a sudden and they want $200 for replacement. I barely used it for less than 2 years and the playbar stopped working. I've recommended this to many of my friends, but wont be doing that any more. I paid $2200 for the whole 5.1 and an additional Play 1 and they don;t even last 2 years. When i spoke with the customer service manager, he said its very rare that they hear about their product going bad. It seems like he never read the posts on here. They all just lied out right. They do like this and they wouldn't last long. I asked what if my SUB goes bad in the next 6 months and then i should pay another $200, and he says 'Yes' that's how it works. Sorry, but this is not how you stand by your customer. I understand that things go bad after few years, but certainly not in less than 2 years when I spend $2200. Its disappointing to own the SONOS.
Hello everyone..my first question in this forum and i hope you all can help. I have just bought a secondhand beosound 3200 from bang olufsen. Can i route it to my existing sonos speakers with the sonos connect? Thank you all very much
Hi all - Sorry for the newbie question. I have an old Sonos system, with a zone player, bridge, etc., that works great. I have it connected up to my iTunes library, and a few streaming services. My question is, can I add some of the new Play: speakers and other components to it, or would this be essentially starting over? Any info or advice welcome.
Of course it is almost impossible to figure out how to write a review on this site. Just want to say that although I really liked my Play 5, it has quit working after 11 months and the whole return policy is a pain in the ass. I have a stereo that is 30 years old and was cheap when I bought it. It still works like new. $650.00 Play 5 is DOA.
I just installed the newest update and suddenly my play 5 has no sound. It shows to be playing on the controller and shows connected. When I plug the headphones into the headphone jack on the back I get sound and the volume controls on the unit function properly, however without the headphones no sound is coming out of the speaker. I contacted Sonos support and was told that the amp in the speaker has gone out and that the timing of the update was purely coincidental. I was using the speaker as well as several other Play One units moments before installing the update. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to solve it? I was told that I will now need to replace the speaker that was functioning perfectly fine literally seconds before installing the update.
I'm really grumpy... I've changed out my router and sonos obviously doesn't work anymore but getting help has been really frustrating and the FAQ on this is incomprehensible and doesn't work. I have a bridge connected to the new router but the sonos wizard/instructions does not represent what I am seeing with a bridge set up. I have a mixed first generation/second generation setup. I really need to speak to someone rather than trawl through mind-boggling faqs. Please can someone help as I am loosing the will to live!
I have two Play 1's in one room in a stereo configuration. I am considering purchasing a Sonos One to place in a different room. Understanding that Sonos One and Play 1's cannot be established in a stereo configuration, can I set up the Sonos One and Play 1's in a group while also retaining the Play 1's in a stereo configuration in the first room?
Hi all, Long story short, I’ve been having the usual well documented drop out issues with my zp100. I’ve contacted the support team and gone through the various tests and diagnostics processes but it seems there’s not much that can be done to resolve the problem. In the end they offered me a refurbished unit for £349. They have given me the weekend to think about it but honestly I can’t really afford that much right now. While I appreciate the offer and understand that they have no obligation to replace my unit, and this is much cheaper than buying a new one, does this sound quite a steep price for a refurbished unit?
Hi I live in a 3 storey house and have a DJ setup located on one of the floors. When we have house parties I'm trying to find a way to stream the music from the floor where the DJ gear is set up, (Pioneer/Serato DDJ Controller), to other locations in the house. I'm not looking to mix using the Sonos speakers but am looking for the music to be heard in the kitchen, garden etc without having to crank the volume up from the DJ setup. If I run a Sonos Connect between the mixer and my active powered DJ booth speakers using standard RCA Phono connectors , will I then be able to stream the feed to various play speakers around the house? Thanks
Hi I’d like to take my Sonos One with necwhen I travel in my RV but I’m not sure what I need to do to make this easy - I don’t want to have to keep setting up a new system at either end of my vacation! Thanks John.
So, (yeah I know, gutted!) I dropped my Play:1 at the weekend - I now have a 5cm dent in the front left corner of the grill. Anyone know how I can get it out? Can't find any tutorials online and don't really want to take it to bits. Tried Sonos on Twitter and the response was "not our problem, bro!" (practically!) I was thinking a fishing hook or something through the hole in the grill and trying to pull it out? (I'm a perfectionist!)
I have a Play:5 that no longer connects to my wireless setup. I already have a PlayBar, Sub and another 5 working flawlessly on the same WIFI network. The speaker connects fine using a direct router connection. For wireless, it turns white but fails. Tried multiple factory resets with the same results. The controller, during setup, finds the speaker and gets stuck on "Please wait while the connection is completed". It then displays the "Not Connected" message.
