Is there any difference in audio power and quality between SONOS Play 1 and SONOS one?

It depends where you read but by all accounts they are not the same hardware but sound virtually identical.
Sonos are 'considering' whether to allow users to stereo pair them.
They have previously considered similar pre-release request and then said 'no'.

Actually, the only hardware shared between the two is the base and the power connector. All audio, WiFi, and processing hardware is brand new.
