sonos arc reading multi channel pcm

Hello my Sonos arc within the last month started reading multi channel pcm instead of dolby digital 5.1.  The sound quality is not as vibrant as with dollby digital since day 1 of owning always read DD.  I have a Sony A80j arc sonos sub and 2 surrounds hooked up with sonos amp.  Not sure if an update has caused this problem or if its an apple tv problem but weird since it has always read DD.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The Apple TV 4K uses a Dolby MAT encoder so all 5.1 audio will play as “Multichannel PCM”. This is the highest quality audio, but if you prefer Dolby Digital 5.1, go into the audio settings on the Apple TV, and set the Change Format setting to ON and set the New Format to Dolby Digital 5.1.

Also be sure to set your TV to these settings:

eARC: Auto
Digital Audio Out: Auto 1
Dolby Digital Plus Output: Dolby Digital Plus
Pass Through Mode: Auto
