Hey all! We've got a new update live for both iOS and Android โ€” here's a quick breakdown of what's changed. Want the full history of what we've been up to? Check out our App Release Notes here.

As always, this is a Phased Rollout โ€” think of it like a wave; not everyone gets it at the same time. If you're on iOS and want to nudge it along, head to the App Store, pull down on your Account page (the one showing pending updates), and give it a refresh. That usually does the trick.

App Update

Android & iOS - 86.01.5

  • Fix related to a card popping up in the app to Enable SonosNet even if SonosNet has never been disabled.

Along with that, we made some backend changes that resolved a few smaller bugs.ย 

ย

Thanks โ€‹@Liz P.ย Just a small suggestion but neither the Sonos app release notes page, nor the iOS app store changelog, mentions what you have stated here (re. Sonosnet card pop-up). They only have the usual generic โ€˜bug fixesโ€™ wording. So unless youโ€™re in the forum on this particular thread, that change will be unknown to you.ย 

If you have available detail of an update, shouldnโ€™t it also be on the release notes wherever these updates are mentionedย (even when itโ€™s only minor like this one)?

As I said, only a small suggestion!

Still does not fix the Amazon Music Unlimited user created playlists loading rounded off. ย A 423 track playlist still only loads 400 tracks. ย The limit is 500 tracks.

Please bring back the A-Z scroll bar to the โ€œSongsโ€ section of the local Music Library. It was removed 5 updates ago and has been confirmed as a bug.ย

2 years. Enough of SONOS. All I wanted was to listen to music and home theater. I went โ€˜All in on SONOS.โ€™ What Iโ€™ve gotten is headaches and excuses. Itโ€™s always the networkโ€™s problem, the router, you name it. Everyone, everything elseโ€™s fault but SONOS. For the record, Google Fiber 3GB with repeaters and strong network, etc..ย 

My SONOS equipment listed below.

SONOS Team,

You have my contact info and purchasing data. This gets resolved Friday COB or it all gets replaced by BOSE and winds up on eBay. And if I do, rest assured, Iโ€™ll do my very best to ensure other consumers donโ€™t make the same mistake I did. โ€˜Sorry, but it shouldnโ€™t have to be this difficult simply trying to listen to music and enjoy home theater.

Really wanted you folks to succeed. I did my part. Time for you to finally step up and do yours.

Odd. Iโ€™ve been a customer of Sonos for more than 20 years, across 5 or 6 homes, new networks, etc. Never had an issue that wasnโ€™tย ย resolved byย Sonos Support. In fact, I support two other installs now.

Yes, in my opinion, Sonos is much more sensitive than normal to network issues, but that is due to the way that Sonos works, which stresses the network in ways most devices donโ€™t. But when you make sure you have a clean network situation, Iโ€™ve never had an issue.

Sorry youโ€™re so unhappy. I hope youโ€™re able to resolve your concerns. Perhaps itโ€™s lucky that Sonos commands such a good price in the secondary market.ย 

In my opinion, the only Sonos folks who regularly read this public forum are forum moderators. Theyโ€™re certainly the only ones who (rarely) reply. If youโ€™re expecting a post here to generate a response from Sonos, I suspect you wonโ€™t get much.

Bose?ย  The company that once abandoned their entire line of smart speakers and brought out a completely new line that were 100% incompatible with the modelsย it had been selling just the day before?

I love these "It is not my network." posts where folks refuse to try to work on compatibility and configuration issuesย  because something else works fine.

I was so sure "It wasn't my network." too, not once or twice but (so far) three times, different issues and cures each time.

Folks here foundย one issue, Sonos support needed diagnostic data to find the other two issues. All my network or configuration.

Why doesnโ€™t onscreen volume icon show level instead of just indicating that button was pressed?

If the Truesoundย function is actually beneficial then why is the app so out of date that I had to use a 2020 iPad for setup?

According to tech support myย M4 iPad Air was "too new.โ€ย ย It also didn't work with my up-to-date Samsung Android phone.

The function is called Trueplay and has never worked on Android because there are many more types of Android phones then there are iOS devices, all with different microphones. As you have noticed Sonos sometimes even lags behind on testing the microphones on iOS/iPad OS devices.
